As soon as the man closed the door of her house, Olivia’s breathing was still steady. Her heart was like an out-of-control locomotive, the brunette blinked repeatedly and then swallowed saliva.

-God, what the hell is happening to me with that man? -She runs her forearm across her damp forehead, “I can’t possibly like him enough to get on my nerves.

She bites her lips, it was crazy, she shouldn’t even be thinking about him like that. She denies.

-As if that guy would even notice me, the only thing that brings him to my house is a guilty conscience.

But, on the other hand, knowing that Caleb was visiting her for that reason made her feel a certain discomfort inside. Because there was a small part of her that wanted him to….

-No, wait a minute, I don’t want anything. It’s over, this is stupid.

Olivia walks to the kitchen, takes the card and tears it in two. Then she throws it in the trash. She wasn’t going to keep thinking about this man’s offer, besides, she’d never get to work with him. And even less knowing that he was getting on her nerves.

The chestnut flattened her lips as she looked at the wastebasket, it was the best thing to do, she repeated to herself over and over…

[…]

Many days had passed, and Caleb hadn’t heard from Olivia. He didn’t find it strange that she didn’t call him, but it did bother him that he hadn’t heard from the woman.

The CEO leaned back in his chair, the more unusual it seemed to him was that he felt that way about a girl he knew almost nothing about. He was worrying about her, when the woman didn’t even want to accept his job offer.

But why wouldn’t she… anyone else, she would give anything she had to work for him. She was so proud, and he hadn’t wanted to visit her so as not to overwhelm her so much. But the truth was that it was too many days, he even wondered if she had already got a job. It was quite possible, and for that reason she didn’t look for it.

-Great, here I am guessing about something I shouldn’t care about. I did everything in my power with her, if she didn’t want to take me, then it’s not my problem what happens with her.

Caleb stands up, he was furious with himself. He was an idiot, he should be worrying about what was really imperative for the hotel, not about a girl who could take care of herself.

Leaving the office, he needed to clear his head a little before returning home…

[…]

It was very tight, I hated it, hated it? He hated it to death. She didn’t like that uniform at all, apart from being tight, it looked like she was going to a bloody funeral. Olivia let out her breath as she finished looking at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, she was wearing simple makeup and her hair was pulled back in a half ponytail.

-Damn it, I need to find another job,” she cusses.

She’d barely been at her new job for five days and already she wanted to get out, well, from the first day she started. But he had no choice but to take it, it was the only thing that was immediately available. And the pay wasn’t bad, but at least he would try to survive.

However, he was planning to look for another job. So much so that she had been walking around in coffee shops trying to become a waitress, but nothing.

However, she was thinking of looking for another job. So much that she was walking in the cafeterias to be a waitress, but nothing.

-Shit, I hate this job.

The brunette pinched her cheeks and looked down at the dress she was wearing. It was a fairly simple cut, with a huge zipper in the back. The neckline is seen in the front, leaving her breasts a little exposed, at least it was somewhat demure, as it came a little above her knees. Also, with the black stockings, it didn’t show too much.

The only thing about it was how tight it was, it really accentuated her h**s and a*s. For God’s sake, it was too tight. And I had ordered a bigger size, but according to the owner, the smaller size would fit her. He was a bastard, he just wanted her to show more than she should to attract the customer.

She took a deep breath as she tied her black apron around her waist, she had to go out to work. She was a little irritated, but she had to hold on until she found something better.

As she walked out into the bustle of the club where she had found a job, she immediately pushed her way through the crowd to the bar to get her notebook and start writing down the customers’ orders.

As soon as she asked the bar tender for her things, the brunette turned around and then ran straight into the person she least wanted to see in that place.

Her eyes couldn’t believe who she was looking at right now, Olivia licked her lips and then swallowed dryly.

-Olivia.

Caleb hadn’t expected to find Olivia in that club, not that it was a sleazy place, quite the opposite. It was a place where a lot of businessmen went to have a drink, others to talk business, and many others, to flirt.

But he could never, ever, imagine Olivia getting a job in the very bar he frequented from time to time.

-That’s why you didn’t call me, you found a job at this place.

-She says it in a way that’s kind of dismissive of the place,” she replies, a little annoyed, it wasn’t the best of jobs, but it was honest. She decides to ignore him and walks past him. If you think it’s sleazy, you’re in the wrong place, Mr. Palmer,” she adds, leading the way to a table.

-Olivia.” Caleb follows her. “I didn’t think so.

-He stops in front of a table to take the customers’ order.

-Caleb, good to see you, come sit with us,” exclaims the customer when he sees the CEO behind the waitress.

-How are you, John? Sure, of course,” he replies as he waits for Olivia to take everyone’s order.

He wasn’t paying the slightest attention to the conversation of his acquaintances, he was watching Olivia’s every move. He was just waiting for her to finish taking the order and then take it somewhere private to talk to her.

He had no need to work at that club, it wasn’t bad, but her job offer was better. If only she would let him explain.

As soon as she finished, she walked away from the table without even seeing him… she was stubborn, she thought.

The CEO apologised to his acquaintance and stood up, looked at Olivia from afar who was taking another order. He would have to take her by force somewhere private.

He looked, upstairs in the club, and looked at the VIP area. There he had an idea.

[…]

-Olivia, I need you to go up to the VIP area and take the order from table one,” the manager ordered, which stunned her.

-VIP? But you told me that because of my inexperience I couldn’t go up to that section of the club.

-Well, I’ve changed my mind, go upstairs and get that order.

-Of course.

She flattens her lips, and walks up to that part. The girls had told her that not all of them go up there, they were only assigned when someone important called them, but the girl must have had more experience than a mere 5 days. And if she was being ordered up there it was because….

She mentally denied, better not to even think about it. She was nervous enough knowing that that idiot Caleb was in that club as well. Of all the places in town, he had to make a habit of going to that one too.

It had to be bad luck….

Reaching the bottom of the stairs that connected to the floor above, he gives his name to the security guard and lets her up. With fear running rampant, Olivia climbs each step as if she doesn’t want to reach the bottom of the stairs.

As soon as the brunette spots table one, she is stunned. She blinks repeatedly, trying to see if this isn’t a dream, but it’s the truth, as Caleb half-smiles at her.

Hopelessly, she makes her way to Caleb’s table…

-What can I get you? -He asks curtly, but inside he was melting.

-Now we’ll have a moment to talk.

-I’m here to take your order, if you’re not going to order then I’ll keep working.

-I’m offering you a better job, you don’t have to be working here Olivia.

-I see you come often to this place, the waitresses are called, because they are ordered by the customer. You seem to do this a lot.

Caleb frowns, and that one answers, what the hell did she mean? Was she mad that I was in the VIP room? Well yes, she had an exclusive table for him every time he went there, but it was the first time she’d ever had a waitress called.

-And what does that mean, Olivia? -He looks deadly serious as he crosses his arms.
