Sky's Rejection
Sky’s Rejection Chapter 74

(Sky’s POV)

“Our pups are perfect.” I said, as I looked up at Dimitri. Both pups were nursing, and I don’t think Dimitri, or I could get enough of them. Only Ty and Lilian have been allowed within the room for the last fifteen hours. We wanted to bond with them before everyone else met them. Lilian conducted the typical newborn pup screening, and we are still waiting to hear from her about them. Not that anything would come back concerning. They stare at us, maybe too intensely, they follow our voices, and they look healthy in general. She did b***d work for genetic testing because of me being half witch.

‘Xeraphina looks special…. different.’ Angel said with concern. I could feel her thoughts racing, as if she feared for our little girl.

‘We are different, dim wit. Obviously, our children are going to be different too.’ Rain commented in annoyance. ‘I think they both look perfect, and I can tell they are healthy. Why should we care if one or both of our pups are like us?’

“They really are.” Dimitri hummed in content. I don’t think he has taken his eyes away from our little pups during all this time. He must be exhausted at this point, I know I am.

‘Our mate will be the perfect father.’ Angel purred in delightment. She was watching our mate more than our pups, it would seem. I guess she got over the scare she was giving herself about our little princess.

Doctor Lilian barged through the doors, making Ty jump out of his sleep. Did I forget to mention he was sleeping? He decided to sleep for a little about three hours ago, but he claimed because of safety issues he felt he needed to stay in the room with us. I didn’t protest, I secretly love to have him around and love the way he is bonding with the pups. He was in front of Lilian within a split second, I don’t even think I blinked, his hand wrapped tightly around Lilian’s neck. She gulped between pants as her wide eyes stared at us. Fear, concern and anxiety swirled in her eyes. What was she concerned about? If Ty wanted to kill her, he already would have.

“Ty, let the poor doctor go. She didn’t mean to startle you.” I said softly, a small chuckle lacing my words. Ty’s eyes snapped towards me, he looked conflicted. Maybe he was dreaming of a threat when she barged in, or he seriously feels she could be a possible threat. I would believe him with every ounce if he told me she was. Ty slowly released Doctor Lilian, as he made his way back into the seat beside us. He was blocking her from the pups and I still, as if he knew something was about to happen. My body tensed as I assessed every movement.

“She didn’t startle me; I was just protecting you and the pups.” Ty mumbled in annoyance as he tried to muffle a yawn. He was exhausted and I couldn’t blame her. I appreciated every little thing he has ever done for me and everything he continues to do.

“I don’t mean to interrupt but I have some pressing news to discuss with you.” Doctor Lilian said. She seemed to be worried but also curious. What could possibly be this news she wants to tell us? Ty tensed up beside me, ready to attack her at any wrong move.

“Proceed, Doctor Lilian. We are listening.” Dimitri commented as we both perked up waiting for her next words. Dimitri gripped my arm, holding tightly as he stared at the doctor in front of us. She gulped nervously, as if she was afraid to tell us whatever she rushed in here to say.

“Alright. Listen, I ran the tests multiple times and every time I got the same results. Positive news first, Luna Queen is clear of all the vampire venom. Next, little Xavier is a full royal werewolf. He will be a wonderful ruler for the werewolf kingdom. Third, is the worst news and most dangerous. I would only trust this information with the people you know for certain would protect you and these pups with their lives. Do you understand?” Doctor Lilian asked. What she was saying started to make my heart race, as I pulled the pups closer to me. Trying to shield them from whatever was to be said next.

Ty leaned forward in his chair, as Lilian looked at him in question. “I am not leaving. Sky is my life, and I would never allow anything to happen to her, her mate or her children. Saying that, I will be staying to be support for them.”

“We understand and Ty will be staying. Proceed Lilian.” Dimitri demanded in his alpha tone. I knew he was worrying about whatever she was going to say next, and I felt his anxiety bubbling inside of me. I wish she would just speak so I could relax. As long as we knew, Di and I would always work it out. Figuring away for anything.

‘What if we can’t trust this doctor with the information?’ Rain questioned accusingly. My thoughts spiraled as I realized she was right. If this is such a pressing matter, will we have to kill her to keep it hidden?

“Alright.” Doctor Lilian sighed before rushing out her next words in a hurry. “Xeraphina has the same DNA as her brother, meaning both children are both of yours, so I am not sure how this happened. Xeraphina is the first ever tri – brid. She is a witch, wolf and…” The pause was killing me, I was ready to tear her head from her neck for making me wait to know what she was about to say. “Vampire. All I can think of is the venom was absorbed by her, that’s why it stopped affecting you. She was still developing so she was able to absorb the venom and turn herself into a vampire. She conjured her own vampire DNA. It is honestly impressive but at the same time concerning what others will do if they find out. They may be threatened by her. Just, watch your back. I will not speak a word of this.”

“Wait, Lilian? I was wondering if you would stay as our personal doctor. One who only has to work for the Alpha family, especially the children. This is new for everyone. First set of twins, first tri – brid. We are going to need you.” I pleaded, hoping she would take up my offer.

‘Great idea Sky, then we can keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn’t disclose this serious information to anyone else.’ Angel said in a compliment.

‘If not, I could always compel her to stay…. or kill her.’ Rain cackled in amusement. She always finds fun in every situation.

“Of course, I will. It will be an honor, Luna Queen.” Doctor Lilian said with a smile lacing her words. Her eyes shined in excitement, and I was happy to have someone by my side that can help learn new things for the twin’s benefit. I was also happy, I didn’t have to kill her, yet at least.

‘What are we going to do about our daughter?’ Rain asked in fear, I could tell she was having intense thoughts about the possibilities that could occur.

“What are we going to do about Xeraphina?” Ty asked, his eyes solely focused on the little girl in my arms.

‘Well… we could…’ Angel said before being cut off by Dimitri.

“I have an idea but it’s not the best one. This is the only one I can think of though. If either of you have better ideas, then we could discuss them all.” Dimitri said in a sullen voice. “We could announce the birth only of our son, hide our daughter and only allow our closest friends to know or see her. That would keep her safe and keep others from thinking there is someone out there special enough to threaten others existence.”

I stared at Dimitri as if he had lost his mind. How could he think we could subject our daughter to that type of loneliness?

‘I was going to say, to suppress her vampire and witch side but she would not grow into the girl she needs to be. That being said it may affect what the Goddess has planned for them.’ Angel said, a sullen mood falling over me. Suppress my daughter’s abilities and counterparts or hide her away? Neither option sounded like a good one that I would want for my daughter. What upsets me the most is I didn’t realize until now, that the twins are the ones from the prophecy.

“I hate to say it, but that is the only idea I could think of that would keep her safe. Maybe Dimitri is right. If we figure out a different plan afterwards, we could always change everything. Right now, though there are people in the pack we can’t trust, the popping up of rogues and council members who are already threatened with you. They can’t hurt you, but they could hurt Xeraphina. Could you imagine what they would do if they found out your off – spring is more powerful than you?” Ty thoughtfully said, actually agreeing with Dimitri. I hate that their points seem so valid, I don’t want my daughter to feel less special or lonely. I don’t want her to think we love her brother more than her or that we could possibly be ashamed of her.

‘We can shield her, train her and still make her feel as special as she will always be.’ Rain said reassuringly. I was doubting their idea, hating to think we wouldn’t celebrate Xeraphina the way we would end up celebrating Xavier.

“What about birthdays? Holidays? Pack events? Xavier will feel wanted, while Xeraphina is left on the side lines all for being powerful and special.” I questioned softly, my eyes glistening with tears, as I voiced my thoughts.

‘Her safety is more important than showing her off to the world. Xavier will be announced as a full werewolf. No one will think our pup is a threat, only you. Though one less thing they have to worry about is your off – springs. Making you less of a threat.’ Angel said calmly, trying to convince me that Ty and Di are right. We just need to agree before it is too late. Ty and Di stared at me, their eyes taking a watery tint from my words. It seems to pain them as much as it is paining me.

‘The Goddess said to not let the children feel different or resentment towards each other.’ I mind linked Di, trying to see if he thought of that. ‘Obviously, the twins are the ones the Goddess was referring to that will save all kinds from evil or destroy all of them. The only other option I could think of is to suppress her witch and vampire side, though that could affect her just as much.’

Dimitri’s eyes widened in horror, I guess he didn’t consider that.
