Sky’s Rejection Chapter 71

(Sky’s POV)

“Do we have any leads on who we think wants to harm the pup?” Ty asked as he paced the room.

“We think it may be the same people that are after Sky. Right now, though we cannot talk about this anymore. We do not need anyone else knowing that isn’t in our close group. The doctor is coming.” Dimitri said his whole demeanor turning rigid.

‘You don’t think it could be the doctor?’ Ty asked through the link.

‘I hope not. We have everyone we trusted around the perimeter of the hospital, my brother is only a couple rooms down and that is why you are in here.’ I replied through mind link, letting him in on our protection plan for the pup.

‘Awe and here I thought you wanted me in here because you see me as your father and wanted my support through this special time.’ Ty jokingly linked back, making me chuckle out loud.

‘Stop it, you know I love you and you will always be my second dad in my eyes.’ I replied through the link as my chuckling calmed down.

“I do not even want to know what you two were talking about.” Dimitri said in amusement as he smiled down at me.

The doctor walked in; his eyebrows creased as if something was bothering him before he entered. What could be going on? He wouldn’t be in on the rogues, would he?

“Her toxin levels are rising.” The doctor said worriedly. What does he mean by that? Is it affecting the pup? “Dimitri, I think we need to take the baby out now.”

“You have no right to leave this decision up to my mate only. This is our pup and my body. No. No, I will have this pup naturally. You already said I was close to full dilation. The Moon Goddess would never allow harm to our pup.” I said through gritted teeth. The pain was getting worse and I knew Angel couldn’t handle it anymore.

Rest Angel, I thought to her. She nodded her head in acknowledgement before falling asleep in the back of my mind. I blocked the pain from her, just as I did with Rain.

I breathed heavily, as I grip held Ty’s arm. “Damn, Sky. I did not put this pup in you. You should be ripping off Dimitri’s arm, not mine.” Ty said as he looked at me. Pain was evident on his face, making me regret grabbing the first thing in my reach.

The pleading look on my face, must have hit a soft spot. Ty spoke in a soft, loving voice, “Never mind. I am here for you Sky, no matter what. Squeeze the pain into me.” I wonder if he knew I was actually able to do that?

“I wouldn’t say that Ty, Sky is very capable of doing exactly as you just suggested.” Dimitri said, his signature smirk lacing his lips. Ty’s eyes got big, his skin taking a paler than normal color. He was petrified I would send this pain into him; I could feel it. If I wasn’t in so much pain, I would be laughing at him right now.

“Alpha, please talk some sense into your mate instead of making jokes right now. Your pup, the future alpha, could be in danger.” The doctor said, seemingly believing his own words. My pup is not in danger, I would feel it.

Dimitri let out a thunderous growl. It felt as if my contractions had stopped, the room was silent, I wasn’t even sure if anyone was breathing at this point. Dimitri’s eyes flickered back in fourth between his own and the glow of Demon’s. I was scared he would lose control right here and now while our baby was making an entrance. The pup didn’t need to see his or her father about to kill a man and make that his or her first memory. I also would like to have my mate focused on our pup and myself right now. I squeezed Ty’s arm, making him look at me. As soon as our eyes connected, he knew exactly what I was asking of him.

“HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF YOUR LUNA IN THAT WAY.” Dimitri thundered. Ty started to approach Di with caution but before he could reach him, I watched as Di closed his eyes, taking deep breaths in. He was calming himself down. “I will not allow you to cause such negative emotions in the room my pup will be born. Now if you can proceed with respecting the Luna’s wishes then I will allow you to continue as our doctor. If you cannot I will find a replacement. Make a decision quick and leave your opinions to yourself.”

“I understand.” The doctor said, as he rolled his eyes in disrespect.

“That’s it.” Ty said as he dragged the doctor out of the room, throwing him as soon as the door opened. “Doctor Lilian, the former King had highly recommended you. Can you give birth to a pup? Also, if you cannot respect wishes or try to harm anyone in anyway, you will be killed on the spot.”

Doctor Lilian nodded as she entered the room. She smiled before bowing towards Dimitri and myself. I acknowledged her the best I could and prayed Ty was making the right choice. Di eyed her skeptically before coming to my side. I looked up at him and he nodded in contentment, he must have spoken to his father.

‘Father and mother are standing watch outdoors with our elite team. Nothing will happen to you or our pup. Father says that doctor Lilian was highly recommended and known as an isolator. Meaning she would never be the one to team up with rogues or anyone else. She seems to only respect you honestly. I don’t know if it is because you are a hybrid and seen as all powerful or if she is curious about you and just wants to learn more so she can have experience for the future. Right now, she seems less suspicious than our normal doctor though.’ Dimitri mind linked me, calming my nerves. He leaned down, planting k****s all across my forehead. He always knew how to keep me calm even in a stressful time.

“Luna Queen, do you mind if I check you? Your rising levels shouldn’t be affecting the pup at all. All I want to make sure is that you don’t crash from the toxin after the birth, okay?” Doctor Lilian said, a smile gracing her beautiful face. She made me feel calmer and more comfortable. I nodded, preparing myself for her cold fingers to touch me. To my surprise, she warmed them up in a heating pad before placing them inside me.

Ty seemed distracted. “If you don’t focus right now, I will send all these contractions to you.” I told Ty. Doctor Lilian began to laugh, as Di smirked in amusement. s**t, did I say that out loud. Ty’s mouth dropped in surprise before he started bursting out laughing as well.

“Feisty as always my little one.” Ty whispered as he made his way to the opposite side Di was standing on. I had the father I had always needed on one side and the mate I always dreamed of on the other side. That is when I registered what Doctor Lilian had spoken next.

“I feel the pup’s head. Are we ready to push?”

Was I ready to push? Was I ready to be a mother? Would I be able to protect myself so my pup never felt the emptiness I had to go through? Would Di be happy if it was a girl instead of a boy? Is he ready to be a father?

I must have been taking to long to answer because before I knew it, Dimitri tilted my head up, making me stare into his hypnotic eyes. I would never get tired of that. “You and I are ready for this love. We have everyone we need by our sides. No matter what we will always protect this pup and the baby will never feel any emptiness that you went through. We have a village behind us.” Di’s words and smile made me realize, as long as I had him and our friends, we could move mountains. A baby will be a piece of cake.

“I am ready.” I said, feeling the pressure build. I knew it was time for me to push. Time to birng this pup into the world. Rain, Angel, wake up. I think you will want to see our little pup. I thought to my counterparts, wanting to experience this together.

‘Just till the pup is here, then I am going to go back to resting.’ Rain said, exhaustion lacing her every word. I couldn’t be more grateful than I am for my two counterparts. I wouldn’t be me without them.

‘I want to meet the pup too. Then I will sleep. You and Di can spend time with the pup first. Contractions are exhausting.’ Angel said, her voice hoarse from being woken up earlier than expected.

“Let’s push then and meet our new little alpha to be.” Doctor Lilian said, looking generally excited. I liked her, if she didn’t do anything crazy maybe I could convince her to stay.
