Sky's Rejection -
Sky’s Rejection Chapter 43
(Unknown’s POV)
The beauty in white looks… Stunning.
Memorizing.
She is exactly what I have been waiting for. Even with all the effort she is making to protect her true self, I still feel the immense power radiating off her. The need to bow to her. This girl is who the seer expected as my mate. No matter if she already has a mating mark, though we can fix that.
This girl right here is exactly what my Kingdom needs, a powerful Queen right at my side. Ruling over the vampires with me. She would be cared for, worshipped as the Goddess she should be. If she doesn’t go willingly, then I will just use compulsion on her, till she is ready to accept my subjects and myself as her king, mate and soon the father to our children we will have.
‘She will be ours and no one will stand in our way.’ Elias, my vampire, commented in my head, pleased with the prize we had chosen as our mate. The Goddess would want us together, we would have the perfect off springs. Stronger than any other creature out there.
“Alaric, I am so glad you have made it.” Diane said with pure joy on her face, as she engulfed me into a hug. I accept the hug, even though I usually don’t allow others to touch me. Diane and my seer Alana are an exception. “What do you think about the ceremony? The Luna was the one I was telling you about. Amazing, right? The way the Goddess allowed a hybrid to exist. This is the first one ever recorded.”
It really was amazing. There are so many mixed mates, constantly having kids and every single one of their children only carries one gene or the other. Never both. What made her special? What made her have both genes? Why did the Goddess now decide to allow a hybrid to be born, be created and walk the land with us? I had so many questions, but the only one that really mattered, was when she would be mine? When would her and I make the perfect tribrid for the world to worship? The tribrid would be the ruler to all, even the council would bow to him.
“Yes. I appreciate the invitation, my friend. I rather enjoyed meeting the newcomer. I shall be taking my leave unfortunately.” I spoke in my old English accent as I stared at Diane. She looked at me with an overwhelming amount of sadness. I almost regretted leaving her so soon. I knew I couldn’t stay much longer though, as I wanted to plan my next move.
“I completely understand. Have a safe flight home, Alaric.” With those words, she hugged me again before disappearing in the crowd. She always knew how to disappear but also made you feel guilty all at the same time.
‘Look at our mate again.’ Elias begged. I sighed in content, knowing my vampire was on the same page. Most of the time, they would fight their hosts for their Goddess’ given mate. Not Elias though, he feels this hybrid should have been gifted to us as a mate, not the werewolf King. What does he have that would protect this precious gem that I don’t have? Nothing. Everyone knows vampires are faster, stronger and more special compared to those stinky dogs. Sky will need us and when that day comes, she will realize the Goddess made a mistake and see she belongs to us. Not that mutt.
I turned back to our mate, seeing the emotionless expression plastered across her face, a small inviting warmth sparkling in her bright violet eyes as she greeted her new subjects. She is a natural. She will be just the Queen I need for my kingdom. Her shiny black and white curly hair blowing slightly with the breeze as the moonlight shines off her face, making her look like the Goddess she is.
We must go before Dimitri detects us. He will be able to tell our intentions if we are around him for too long. We will watch from a distance until the time is right, Elias. I thought back to my vampire before submerging myself into the darkness, making my presence unknown as I watched the rest of the gathering. How Sky sauntered around and greeted every single subject, even the children. Showing myself, I picked the best girl to bare our children. I could feel the excitement of my vampire and knew I had to leave.
Soon you will be mine.
With that thought swirling around, I jumped into the sky, taking off as if the smallest effort was all it took to fly off, though what would anyone really expect from a vampire? The King, for that matter.
(Diane’s POV)
I met up with my friend, who I invited while waiting to be able to talk with Di and Sky. I have become close to her, realizing I may not want to leave the pack anymore. I have thought about asking Di about joining. Though would he even let me knowing that I am a witch? He doesn’t have mixed species here, but his mate is a mixed species. Witch at that. I wonder if that will help his decision to let me stay?
After seeing my friend, I was getting concerned. Alaric seemed off. As if he was up to something, though I didn’t know what. He was looking at Sky like she was a prize to be won. Was he not here the whole time? Did he not see her swear her loyalty to her mate? Did he not see or smell her mating mark?
Maybe I was reading his expression wrong. Though what if I wasn’t? Should I tell someone? If I do, though, and I was reading it wrong, I will be kicked out if I even get in and I will start a war between two species who have been at peace for so long. Should I risk that?
I have to. Sky is my friend now and Dimitri would hate me if I didn’t warn him so he could look into it. I know he would slowly approach this and would never start a war first. He always thoroughly researches and confirms everything before taking action.
This is his mate though. Maybe I screwed up by telling Alaric about Sky being a hybrid. Alaric and I have been friends since I was little though.
“Beta Dean, I think I may have misjudged someone and trusted them with sensitive information I shouldn’t have. I feel it would be best if we could talk in private for a few minutes when it is convenient for you.” I said as calmly and collected as I could while standing at the side of Dean, trying to make it look like I wasn’t even speaking with him. Just in case, Alaric was watching me and thought I was on to him. I do not want to die.
“Miss Diane, the trouble making witch that Dimitri yelled at me over. Yes, we can talk alone.” Dean replied, with a smirk on his face. The way he looked made me double think about my idea of being alone with him. Maybe I should have gotten Mark instead.
As he approached the door, I watched as he slowly opened it, turning on the light and holding the door open for me. I walked past him, seemingly entering a bedroom of some sort. There was a desk on one side, a huge grandfather clock, a small excluded window and a tiny bed on the opposite side. What weird type of room is this?
Dean chuckled, I am sure at my expression, causing me to pull my attention back to him. “This is my office. The bed is a couch also. A futon I believe it is called. Sometimes Di has us working through the nights, so I like to have somewhere comfortable to take a quick rest without going too far away in case he needs me.”
That makes complete sense, and probably makes me look like a crazy person. With two long strides, Dean appeared in front of me as I looked up at him in uncertainty. Why is he so close to me? Why is he in my space right now?
“There is something about you. I can’t explain it. I feel like a moth drawn to a fire. I know if I touch you, it will burn me but I can’t help the pull.” Dean whispers as I feel his hot breath fanning my face. A fruity smell took over my senses, making my body subconsciously lean towards the smell, him. Dean reaches out, placing his palm against my cheek. Sparks gathered across my skin, causing my eyes to widen in shock and I gasped out loud. s**t, I put a block on my mate. I wasn’t ready to settle down. The only way to break the block is by touch.
“Mate.” Dean growls in a possessive tone, the confusion flashing in his eyes, though it shows he has questions and he will demand the answers.
Dean is my mate and now I understand why I feel so close and connected with Sky. I need to tell him what I fear and before it is too late. Maybe Dean can help me.
Will Dimitri allow our mating though?
