Sky’s Rejection Chapter 31

(Alpha Henry’s POV)

Sky slowly stood up, backing away from her mate, as she looked over at me. I was slowly healing from the deep claw marks going across my stomach a disgusting rogue had given me during the fight. How could I not know my friend could do something this sick and then be working with rogues on top of it? Sky looked me dead in the eyes and watched as I felt concern, pity and regret swirling through me. I regret not being there for Sky like my parents would have wanted. Their dying wish was just for us to stay close and for me to continue taking care of my little sister. All the pain and suffering I caused her and allowed or forced others to cause her as well. I didn’t realize how much all of this could affect her, though through it all she still held love for me. I saw the love and care everytime I looked at those violet eyes that I tried so hard to hide. She doesn’t hide any more though and I am proud of that. I feel so bad I put her through these things, then her first mate rejected her and put her through hell and now she has lost her second mate. In what life should anyone have to go through what she has been through? I watched as love shined in her eyes, it was as if I was looking at my three – year – old sister I dearly missed, as if I had never harmed her or put her through any of the stress and pain her life consisted of. “I forgive you.” She whispered into the barely occupied building. My emotions changed like a whip lash. I was relieved finally thinking I would have my sister back in my life. Then it all clicked, the look of determination, certainty, and content that played out on her face made every hair on my body stand on end. She was going to allow herself to succumb to death. I lost our parents, I pushed her away for so long and then lost her. I finally have her back and she wants to leave again. This time permanently.

I can’t lose her again.

She connected me through our minds. I was shocked, she must be like our father and powerful because you can only connect with pack members and she isn’t part of my pack anymore. ‘Don’t worry. I will say hello to our mother and father for you. Take care brother.’ Her sweet melodic voice had me in a trance until I realized she confirmed my thoughts. Horror and panic ran through me. I tried desperately to get up and grab my sister. I would defend her and save her this time. I g*****d as I felt my stomach ripping itself apart with every motion I made.

I can’t help her while I am like this.

“Awe, how sweet. You two thought now was the time to reconcile. I don’t think so. Let’s go Sky, it is time we finished this mating.” Xander said as he forcefully tried to grab Sky’s arm, but she quickly whipped around and dodged him, causing Xander to gasp in shock. I couldn’t believe the way she moved, with so much preciseness and elegance. She had changed so much and, with the shocked face of Xander, I can only imagine he had no idea how much she had changed before planning this. I don’t think he expected she would fight back. Sky ran off, out of the building, as Xander took off behind her. I can’t let him hurt her. What do I do?

“Xander, don’t do this. Come on, she is my sister, man. She has been hurt enough. Please, stop. I thought we were friends. Does that not mean anything?” I screamed after him, hoping he would listen, knowing we are best friends, or at least were.

“I will do what I want with my mate.” Was all he said, not turning around or even acknowledging me as he took off after my sister and out of sight.

What have I done?

I sat there thinking for at least a half hour, the dead of silence around me, until I started to hear noises. Several footsteps came from outside and they sounded as if it was getting louder. Then there were voices shouting.

“Over here.” A strong man’s voice said as I heard the footsteps increase in speed. They sound semi – familiar, but I still can’t place them.

“This is the building he had us locked in. They have to be inside there.” A woman’s voice said with certainty.

“I only hear one heart beat. Did Xander mention going somewhere else?”A different man questioned in concern, it seemed.

“No.” A whisper of the same woman’s voice came out, as I heard the footsteps stop outside the door. She’s right. Alpha Xander didn’t mention going anywhere else because none of this went according to his plans. I finally realized where I knew that voice from.

“State who you are, what your rank is, and your business being here?” Former King Tyson demanded as he pushed his aura out. Not as strong as his son’s, but still stronger than any Alpha to exist.

I bowed slightly as the former Queen, former King, and current royal beta came into the warehouse. I could pick up the scent of at least seventy – five warriors surrounding the building.

“I am Alpha Henry Hollow of the Hollow Blue Pack. I was captured to be used against my sister, Sky Hollow.” I watched as the former King and Queen gasped in shock, obviously not knowing who my sister really was. Though it seems the beta knew and may even have a slight idea of what I have done to her as he looks at me in anger, same as the new guy who just walked in behind them. Who is he and what does he want with my sister? The aura I get from him is also Alpha. Mmmm, Interesting.

“Where is the King and his mate?” The beta demanded, as he pushed his aura too. I am going to answer them, so why demand it?

“My sister ran off into the woods and Alpha Xander followed after her.” I began to speak, before I could even finish the guy with the Alpha aura and at least half of the warriors took off in the direction I said. “King Dimitri is over there, knowing I couldn’t sense another heart beat and watching my sister mourn over him I would assume he is no longer with us.”

On that note, the former Queen and Beta ran over to him. I watched as the former Queen fell to her knees and sobbed into her son’s chest and at that moment realization ran over the former King’s face and he accepted that he was now King again.

“You five, take my son back to the royal pack and have the doctors prepare him for a royal send off. You three get this Alpha medical attention. You ten take all the dead bodies and burn them, then let the pack know the royal pack has taken control over this pack from now till further notice. The rest of you go with High Alpha Ty and find my son’s mate and you had better hope she is okay.” With the King sending out alpha commands, I watched everyone start doing what they are supposed to do. He walked over to the beta and his mate as he looked down at his son with grief. “Beta Dean, make sure Queen Samantha gets back to the royal pack unharmed and bring her to our son’s preparation room.”

The beta bowed in respect, masking his face in stone before transforming into a six – foot tall gray and white wolf. With bright green eyes staring at the exit in determination.

“What are you going to do, my love?” Queen Samantha asked her mate in a half sob. She was clearly distressed over the passing of her son.

“I am going to make sure Sky is safe. Dimitri wouldn’t want anything to happen to his mate. Even if he is gone.” King Tyson said with no emotion at all, Queen Samantha nodded, as she jumped onto the back of the Beta’s wolf. I watched as she laid her head down and clutched onto his fur for dear life. With a slight wolfy nod, the beta took off.

(Sky’s POV)

I continued running, until I skidded to a stop. Realizing I had no where else to go. I was at the end of the woods and stood at the top of a cliff.

‘Now what?’ Angel asked, trying to come up with a plan. My plan was to run till we had to fight, so I guess we are in the fighting part now. I thought back to them both.

‘ Well, I am ready when you are.’ Rain said as I felt her smirk with determination.

I heard cackling coming from behind me as I turned around and saw Xander standing there with an amused look on his face. “Didn’t succeed in the cat and mouse game. Huh, little mate? Where can you run now? No where.” His chuckle echos around me, fueling the rage bubbling inside me.

“I didn’t lose. I won. My game was getting you away from any help you could get. Check. Making you think you have the upper hand when, in reality, I am stronger than you. Check. Now the last part of my game is the best. I am going to kill you and make you suffer for every little pain you have ever caused me or anyone I loved. Just one question before I do that. Did you have a hand in killing my parents?” I asked emotionless, hoping he didn’t see how much this question had been nagging me and how much suffering it would cause me. I never want him to see my pain, to see me hurt, to see how much effect he had on me.

“Mate, do you really want me to answer that? Don’t you already know, deep down?” He mocked as I felt Angel and Rain coming slowly to the front of my mind with me, taking part control. My teeth enlonged, as my fingers turned into claws. I felt my eyes glow and my hands light up from Rain’s magic.

“Don’t call me MATE. ANSWER THE QUESTION.” All three of us demanded at the same time.

“W.. What is happ… pp… ening?” He stuttered out, as he slowly backed away. ” How did I hear three voices? Why are your hands glowing? How did you half shift? Only special Alpha wolves can do that. I can’t even do that.”

“I am sorry, did I forget to introduce you? Meet Rain, my witch counterpart. Meet Angel, my wolf counterpart I have had since I was three. I am a strong alpha, you are not. Now answer our question.” I demanded.

“I.. I.. I.. ” He cleared his throat and tried to mask how scared he was, but I could smell the fear already wafting around in the air between us. I took a few steps closer to him, trying to intimidate him. ” Yes I did, first I hired the rogues to kill off my parents because they said I wasn’t ready to be Alpha. Then your parents, because they wouldn’t agree to an alliance with me. They said I wasn’t mature enough for the position given to me and it would only bring their own pack harm. I showed them by getting an alliance anyway from Henry.”

He seemed proud of what he did. I slowly breathed, closing my eyes for a second to keep my anger controlled. I don’t want him to feel my aura and realize how strong I really am.

“Now, your choices are to die here or come with me and be my Luna and mate willingly.” He said in a mocking tone, like he had just won my little game. Think again buddy.

“I will never be your mate. I will always be Dimitri’s mate, even if he is with the Moon Goddess now. You must pay for the deaths and harm you have brought to many wolves.” Once all the words had left my mouth, Xander snarled in anger right before shifting into his sandy – colored wolf.

‘Let me shift.’ Rain asked eagerly as I could feel her thirst for his b***d. I released my hold and allowed her to shift us into our wolf. Angel shook out her white fur before crouching down and slightly growling at Xander.

Alpha Xander’s wolf is pretty big, but unfortunately for him, mine is bigger. He lunged for my throat but missed as I jumped to the side of him. Something he had clearly counted on as his claws ripped into my side. f**k. Pain radiated through me but within a few seconds I was numb to it all.

‘That hurt.’ Angel whimpered, as I tried to send her calming waves. It is going to be okay, I promise. We can take the pain. We have been through so much worse, I thought back to her.

Angel quickly dodged his next attack, as he tried to claw at my face. I jumped onto his back, biting into his shoulder, as he tried to violently shake me off, but I wouldn’t budge. A sense of pride flowed through me as his wolf let out a high – pitched whimper. Bringing down the mate who downed me, the man who took my true mate away from me, the man who threatened my family and now with him working with the rogues, I finally know he was the one responsible for the attack on my parents.

I used to watch my brother and his warriors practice in wolf form and I am now realizing Xander uses the same tactics, not even an inch off point. This is making his moves that much more predictable. Mmm. Did my brother give him that information or did he steal it?

‘Focus.’ Rain hisses at me. Right, sorry. I thought back as I tried to get my focus back onto the wolf under me. Xander shook me off his wolf, as I slid across the ground and into a tree. s**t. I felt Angel whimper. I took as much pain as I could from her, urging her to get back up. We are stronger than him. We are the daughter of the late Alpha Harry and the late Luna Sandra.

‘Is that all you got? You’re weak. You were never worthy of being my mate. Your parents were right about you, your pack deserves better.’ I mocked in the mind link to Xander. He looked at me in surprise until my words registered and I watched the anger spread through him. I have him right where I want him now.

We traded blow for blow as chunks of fur and splatters of b***d flew through the air, tainting the ground and trees around us. As each of us try to destroy the other. He was trying to make me submit, but I know I have finally triggered the anger in him and need to be careful because he is going for the kill now.

I could feel myself becoming tired, between the stress and the loss of my mate, I couldn’t feel the strength to continue this fight.

‘We can do this, our mate would be disappointed if we gave up.’ Angel said with determination.

‘We need to avenge our mate, we need to show everyone they can’t mess with us and get away with it.’ Rain hissed in anger.

They are right. We need to do this for our mate, our brother and our parents. No one can mess with us.

I heard paws pounding on the ground. Soon enough, we won’t be alone anymore. It is now or never. I combined everything I had left inside me. The pain, the loss and the energy I had, with Rain’s magic flying around, and Angel’s fury and strength. With all that combined together, a pulse heated up my body as I roared at the disgrace of an Alpha in front of me. A bright light shot out of my mouth as I felt myself fly backwards into a tree. I felt cracks as my body morphed back into my human form. I looked over to see a pile of ashes sitting where Alpha Xander used to stand. I knew I had finally got rid of the man who hurt my family and had taken so much from me.

I felt black spots begin to take my vision, as I slowly felt my soul slipping away.

I am coming to join you, mother and father.

I am coming, Dimitri.
