Sky’s Rejection Chapter 26

(Dimitri’s POV)

High Alpha Ty barged into my office, not knocking, let me mind you. Ugh, seriously, no one I know knocks. Why?

“We have to go.” High Alpha Ty says as he grips my arm in his hand and drags me out of my office, away from my meeting. This guy can’t be serious. High Alpha Ty growls, “No, you two stay. This only involves the Royal Alpha.” Who is he talking to?

‘You are so focused on your own thoughts that you didn’t smell our beta and gamma following us.’ Demon said in sarcasm. Of course, I didn’t and he did. One more thing he could hold over my head. Demon loves to gloat when he does something better than me.

‘Are you okay, Alpha?’ Dean asked in the mind link. I should have thought about speaking to them before allowing High Alpha Ty to pull me out of my office. Though I am curious where he is taking me and if Sky sent for me.

Demon, of course, chuckles in my mind, ‘Yeah right. Like she would send for you.’ i***t, I am you and you are me . So, if she didn’t send for me, then she didn’t send for you, I responded. Causing my wolf to whimper. s**t.

‘No Dean, I am fine. Carry on with the meeting. I will be back as soon as I can.’ I responded through the mind link calmly, I don’t need him worrying because he picked up on my emotions.

“Where are we going, High Alpha Ty?” I asked calmly, as I stared with interest at the back of his head.

“Shush.” High Alpha Ty said without even turning around. As we arrive at a door, my wolf begins to pace around in my mind. What is wrong with you now, Demon? I watched as Ty peeked inside a random room and then yelled, “You need to talk to him, Sky. I won’t take no for an answer.”

With that, the door swings fully open as I feel High Alpha Ty shove me inside the room, causing me to stumble. I stared at the door in shock, as it slammed shut. What the f**k just happened and who was he even talking to? In a split second, I heard the lock click in place. He looked me in. What. The. f**k. I growled in frustration as I turned around, scanning the room for danger.

‘Mate.’ Demon exclaims as he jumps around and nips inside my head. Okay, Demon, we got it. It is our mate. So he literally trapped me in a room with Sky, though she doesn’t look happy to see me. So I assume she didn’t actually call for me. Great.

I take a seat in the black leather arm chair and wait to see where this will go. She glares hard core at me before she takes a deep breath, plops onto the bed and releases the air in an over – exaggerated way.

“So….” I whispered into the semi – dark room, hoping to make her open up somehow.

“Fine.” Sky huffed as she stood up and placed her hands on her h**s. Back to glaring at me. Well, I got her to say one word to me.

‘Aaaaand is that an improvement?’ Demon asked sarcastically. Whose side are you on? Seriously, can’t you just help me here, instead of making it harder. ‘Mate’s side.’ Of course you are.

Before I could say anything at all, Sky began to speak. “Listen, First, I am sorry that Ty brought you here and locked you in the room with me and, before you say anything, Ty is like a father to me, so I don’t have to call him High Alpha.”

‘Hahahahaha I can’t believe she read your face that easily.’ Demon laughs at me. Laugh it up Wolf, I will have my revenge on you. I spoke back into my mind.

Sky cleared her throat, looking pissed. s**t. “Talk to your wolf on your own time. I was speaking. Now where was I? Yes, second, I have decided to make this mate bond issue easy for you. Third, I will be leaving tonight.”

What the f**k does she mean she is leaving tonight? She is my mate, my royal luna. Why would she leave? How is she going to make this mate bond easy for me?

‘Stop thinking questions and ask her. NOW.’ Demon demanded, as I felt him become agitated.

“What are you talking about?” I asked in confusion as I stood up and walked towards her. I have a bad feeling.

Sky took a deep breath, as if trying to calm her nerves. What would she be nervous about? “I, Sky Royal Hollow, daughter of the late Alpha Harry Hollow and late Luna Sandra Hollow, Reject you…..”

f**k NO. I WILL NOT BE REJECTED. I rush at Sky, once I realize what she is about to do. I won’t accept this to happen. I already feel connected to her and so does Demon. I hear him whimpering in my head, but I can’t comfort him right now. I need to stop Sky. I wrap my arms around her, causing sparks to dance over my skin for every contact we make with our skin. I placed my left hand over her mouth, cutting off the remaining words. I felt pain in my chest from the partial rejection. I grunt, needing to sit to catch my breath as sharp stabbing pains shoot through me. I pull us onto the arm chair, as she falls on my lap.

“Listen darling, no one is rejecting anyone here. If you haven’t read about royals before, then let me enlighten you. We don’t get a second – chance mates. We die with our mates and from rejection. Would you like for my wolf and I to die, sweetheart?” I whispered into Sky’s ear huskily. She shivered and shook her head no.

‘Maybe she didn’t know.Why doesn’t she want us?’ Demon whimpers, as he whines in my mind, slightly giving me a headache.

“Now the only way I am letting you go is if you promise not to try to reject us again, love. My wolf, Demon, and I would like to get to know you and then have you become our royal Luna and full mate. Do you promise?” I whispered into her ear. She shivers again as her back arches slightly. I love the way her body reacts to me. She nods her head, promising not to try to reject us again. I slowly let go of her and she sits on my lap, taking deep breaths.

After a few minutes, I watch as Sky’s eyes widen in surprise and shock when she realizes she has been sitting on my lap this whole time. She jumps up and a deep red blush covers her cheeks, spreading all the way to the tips of her ears. She’s adorable. I began to chuckle at her embarrassment. I have never seen a wolf embarrassed from contact with their mate.

‘Our mate is different,’ Demon says in an awed tone. He seems to be memorized by our mate right now.

“Don’t laugh at me,” Sky scoffed and slapped my shoulder in a half serious, half playful manner. I laughed even louder at her reaction. She is actually being playful when, not even a half hour ago, she tried to reject us. “Stop it.”She whined as she went and poked my side. My laugh almost immediately died down. Did she try to… tickle me? My eyes narrowed slightly at my mate, in a playful manner.

‘Mate wants to play. I like this side of her.’ Demon said in my head. He is right. We never get to see her show emotions.

“Oh, it is on.” I teased her before charging towards her.

Sky tried to turn and run but I was faster, even if it was only by a second. My right arm wrapped around her and I pulled her back into my chest. While my left hand found her waist and tickled her sides. She laughed and squirmed in my arms. Her laughter is like music to my ears and I never want it to stop. “No, please, stop. Dimitri, please. I will do anything if you stop now.”

My hand slowed as I came closer to her, getting right beneath her ear. “Anything? Anything at all?” I asked before tickling her again.

“Yes.” She squealed out between laughter.

‘Let’s mark her.’ Demon begged. We can’t do that yet, buddy. We don’t want to scare her away again. Let’s wait till she asks us to mark her, I told Demon gently.

“Go on a date with me then. Give us a chance.” I mumbled into her ear, while inhaling her addictive scent. I can’t believe she has allowed me this close to her. Allowed me to listen to her magical laugh. Let me see her emotions, even if only for a minute.

I felt her body still for a moment, as her eyes glazed over. Thinking I lost her, my mood dampers slightly. I am sure her witch and wolf are giving their opinions. I just hope they are good. They did’t seem to try and stop her when she tried rejecting us. It might not be the most traditional or romantic way to ask, but it just feels right. With my arms around her, I never wanted to have to let go.

‘Stop thinking about it,’ Demon said in agony. I understand, I just want to forget too.

“Yes,” Sky whispered in response. Now it was my turn to still. Did she say yes? My arms loosened a bit but stayed around her body as Sky turned around to face me. She was glaring at me. Full on glaring at me. Almost as if she was trying to vaporize me with her penetrating eyes.

“On one condition, no tickling ever again.” Sky said as one of her fingers poked my chest with every word that came from her sweet lips. All I wanted to do was k**s her right now, but I didn’t want to scare her off or worse, make her try to reject me again.

“How about no tickling for a month?” I suggested and her eyes narrowed into slits, not leaving mine for a second.

I never thought she would let up when all of a sudden a corner of her l*p slowly lifted, as she replied, “Deal, Shake on it?” The finger that was poking me turned into a full on hand, she nodded towards her hand, waiting for my next move. The confidence she showed made Demon hum in delight. Seeing her like this, challenging me, playing and full of confidence. Allowing her guard to lower just an inch… Wow, she is something. Let’s just say the step back I took wasn’t just to shake her hand.

‘She sure is something sweet.’ Demon commented with laughter, making jokes now bud. I shook my head at him.

“Deal.” I said as I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to me. Our eyes connected in a trance – like way.

“Royal Alpha Dimitri, we need you.” Dean said as he barged into the room. He was panting in exhaustion, panic and worry crossing over his face. s**t, something must have happened. I looked at my mate and she gave me a slight smile, pulling her hand out of my grasp.

“Go, I will meet you there soon.” Sky said, her emotionless demeanor making its way back into place. I hate to see my carefree mate turn back into stone. I nodded in agreement and took off after my beta. I hope this isn’t what I think it is.
