Book 2- Chapter 9

Floating by Ethan's side for a year, I watched him buy a large mansion with my money just three months after my death, and grandly marry his true love. My parents were grief-stricken over my passing.

Mom's health was already poor, and she fell seriously ill, needing a huge sum for surgery.

When Dad came to Ethan to borrow money, I finally knew.

Watching Dad, with his now completely white hair and weathered face, standing in front of Ethan to borrow money, my soul nearly dissipated from the heartache. "Father-in-law, Ava is already dead, the dead are gone forever.

Besides, if I lend you this money, how will you pay it back?"

Ethan sneered.

Beside him, Mia tugged at Ethan's arm: "Honey, look how pitiful Mr. Sinclair is~"

Then I saw Mia take out Ethan's wallet, pull out a few money, and toss them: "Here! Mr. Sinclair, consider this given for Ava's sake, no need to pay back!"

After saying this, she covered her mouth and giggled, leaning into Ethan's arms.

I watched my father squat down to pick up the money, my emotions fluctuating too much to control my soul's dissipation.

The last thing I saw was my father's increasingly hunched back.
