Rogue Warriors of Lorr -
Stolen by the Alien Prince Chapter 6
Gianna woke to the sound of birds chirping. As she pulled her eyes open, she took in the room, memo realized she was still wrapped up in Kozien's arms. She looked at him, taking in his relaxed sleeping fa Everything from last night came back to her once she saw him, making a shiver roll over her body. Eve The constant pull gnawed her insides. She pulled away from Kozien, and he jerked awake as soon as s "Shit," he grumbled, looking around the room. "What time is it?"
"Still early." She pulled herself off the bed. "I didn't want to wake you."
shing back in as her mind slowly stirred. She had so much to do, and she knew she needed to get up. She felt like she was bathed in warmth and suddenly nd smiled.
, every lick, and every kiss had felt like magic, but it was a reminder that while she was here, her brother was somewhere else, probably needing her.
He rubbed his eyes as he rolled out of bed. Gianna's eyes widened, taking in his naked frame once more. Her insides twisted, reminding her that she was supposed to be finding her brother, not sleeping with the investigator. "So-" She forced herself to look away. "What are the plans for today?"
Gianna grabbed for clothes, needing to cover herself. Last night was amazing, but today they needed to focus. Her brother needed her.
"We should head back to your place and see if we can find any more intel on your brother." At least they agreed on that, but she could hear the reservation in his voice. She looked over to see him staring at her. He held a frustrated expression as he spoke up again. "But this time, you do what I say instead of running off like last time."
Her stomach twisted. She only had done that because she was trying to protect him. "I had good inter
He frowned. "As great as your intentions were, they backfired, so let's not have a repeat of yesterday.
She hated how he was talking to her like a child but nodded. "Yes, I'll listen."
"Promise." He narrowed his eyes. "You promise to listen."
She groaned but gave him her word. "Fine, I promise."
"Good." He gave her a smile. "Now let's get you a different outfit and look."
She stared at him, silently begging him to understand.
e? Can you promise to listen this time? Like you're supposed to."
Kozien pulled himself to his full height and walked toward the closet. He started to rummage, and Gianna sighed.
They would both need to disguise themselves again. They couldn't keep wearing the same robes and stalking around asking questions. It would mark them too easily.
"What is your plan this time?" She took a seat on the bed once more. She wanted to shower, but she didn't want to interrupt his plans.
"Making you look like you belong." He threw a few pieces of clothing over his shoulder, and Gianna sta. them. They certainly weren't her taste nor her size.
"Uhmm, not that this isn't a great idea, but we aren't the same size. We aren't even close." She waved at the clothes. "So how is this going to work?" Kozien turned back to her, holding his same smirk. "Like I said, we make you look like you belong."
Gianna was stunned when she looked in the mirror after Kozien was done. She didn't look anything like herself. The clothes were big, but a belt and some tape pulled them in to give her a rough "don't fuck with me" look. He applied some darker makeup he'd bartered for with the innkeeper to her face and pulled her hair back into a tight bun, pulling the entire look together.
Gianna admitted that she looked like a badass. She glanced toward Kozien, who was wearing some thicker clothes, covering as much skin as he could.
They agreed that she would do the talking, and he would only come out if needed, but they didn't want him to just stand out like a sore thumb. He donned the robes again, deciding to just stay out of sight and hope people were used to avoiding the tall scaly creatures in robes and wouldn't notice him.
After making sure they had everything they needed, they left. Gianna could feel she was nervous but tried to remain calm. She was doing all of this for her brother.
They made it back to the shady town where they were before, but she felt a little more relieved. Kozien had her back, after all. So, she decided she needed to act the part.
"All right." She squared her shoulders. "I'm going in."
She strode away from Kozien toward the alleyway, glancing around. She kept going, her eyes on the small group in the back.
Gianna would never walk straight up to a group and ask anything, but this new person would. Someone who sold drugs would. She walked toward them, and they looked at her, each raising an eyebrow at her presence.
She allowed them to look her over, making sure she held her head high. She gave them a smile, not sweet, though. "Who speaks for the boss?" She looked at each of them in turn.
The one in front smirked. "Ballsy question, girl."
She snapped her gaze at him. "I don't like to waste time," she fired back, keeping her tone sharp. "I'm here inquiring about someone and also about a certain shipment he was in control of. It seems there's been a mix-up, and I want to clear it up." "Mix-up?" The guy chuckled. "Sounds unlikely."
Gianna narrowed her eyes. "I don't fuck around when it comes to my people, and someone on my crew has gone missing. So don't take me lightly when I say mix-up."
The air seemed to shift around her, and she realized she had the upper hand. She smirked to herself, good. She was one step closer to finding Gabe.
She hoped.
Kozien stayed back a distance, making sure he remained in the shadows. They both knew he couldn't be included, at least not right now. So, he stayed back and watched, making sure nothing happened to Gianna. Gianna stood with confidence, and he couldn't ignore how hot it was. It was a turn-on.
He knew better than to think about that, but he couldn't help himself. She was still naked in his bed this morning, and everything from last night kept repeating in his head. She made it difficult for him to focus when he normally wouldn't have a problem staying in tune with his surroundings.
He watched the five guys talking to her, telling her things. He watched her take it all in. She nodded, holding that same steady, emotionless expression.
He glanced over his shoulder, taking in the busy street. It was shocking how just down an alleyway from a busy street, drug dealers sat lurking. He wondered just what kind of shady business Gianna's brother had gotten into.
He looked back, seeing she was turning around and walking down the alleyway. He narrowed his eyes, watching the other five talking amongst themselves now.
She rounded the corner, stopping next to him. She held her chest and took a few deep breaths. He chuckled. "You did good."
"I
I thought I was going to vomit," she admitted, shaking her head. "But I got what we needed."
They had agreed Gianna would be the dealer, someone her brother worked for back on Earth. She was new on the planet, so if people asked around, she didn't have a big reputation. It would work. Her brother had gone missing, and now she was looking to figure it out.
It was a straightforward enough story she could remember and close enough to the truth. If people were looking for a lie, it would be hard to find one. "What did you learn?"
She looked at him and waved her hands. "More than I thought I would. They don't know anything about my brother, but they said they were going to get in touch with the D'Narvius. I explained that there was a mix-up with a shipment, and I wanted answers now." "And?" he said, waving a hand. "What else?"
"We are going to meet up later this afternoon with the D'Narvius."
Kozien frowned. Gianna must not have understood just how dangerous the D'Narvius really were. They were part of the drug cartel, and they were working hard to make a name for themselves. They weren't above murder, so he didn't approve of her meeting them. "No." He shook his head. "No, you aren't."
"Kozien, this isn't a choice. We need to meet them. meet them."
"Do you understand how dangerous that is? They could easily blindside you and leave you for dead."
"That isn't going to happen. I already figured that was something that could happen, so I told them I would be showing up with a bodyguard to ensure I wasn't f****d with. Smart, right?"
She seemed proud of herself, but he still didn't like it. There were still too many what-ifs.
"Let's go. If everything goes to shit, you can get me out. Right?"
Kozien didn't like the idea, but he couldn't tell her no. She had already agreed to meet them, and if she backed out, they would not get another chance like this. They had to go.
Several hours later, after having lunch, Gianna got a call to meet at a small restaurant downtown on the edge of the shady part of town.
They got there, and Gianna took the lead just like before. They stopped in front of the restaurant that was rather bare for dinner time. A small group of men sat in the back, and Kozien nodded for Gianna. "There they are."
"All right." She took a deep breath before she moved toward them.
Gianna seated herself across from them with Kozien standing just behind her. Gianna sat up straight, hardening her face. "Evening."
They looked from her toward Kozien. He was grateful for the low lights. It at least covered him in darkness with his clothes. They would have a hard time knowing the truth about him.
"This is my bodyguard. He's an Ethane Breather. Don't mind him, but if you do anything to startle him, he might break your arm."
One of the guys chuckled. "Doesn't think before he acts, is that what you mean?"
Gianna gave him a venomous smirk. "No, he just likes to inflict pain, actually. So, can't say I didn't warn you." She crossed her arms, looking at each of them. "I'm glad to meet so quickly. I don't like to waste my time, so I'm looking for a worker of mine. Name is Gabe. He was working, doing his job. But it seems I have lost connection with him. I'd like to know if you know anything about his whereabouts."
"Who is he exactly to you?" one of them spoke up.
"He's my brother, and I've worked with him before on Earth. But since I'm new here, and I don't have very many connections, I'd like to be of help and extend an arm to work with him. I have a handful of others that work below me that do exceptional work." Kozien watched their jaws clench, and he glanced at Gianna. She still held that blank expression like nothing they said surprised her.
"We will need to talk to our boss before we agree to anything. Until then, you're free to go."
Gianna swallowed and pushed herself up. Kozien knew they'd have to jump through hoops, and this was one of them. He kept a hard expression as Gianna turned to leave. He followed right behind her.
