Richest Mogul -
Chapter 1503
"You're mistaken. Mr. Martin is not Ned," Paul said, his voice tinged with exasperation.
If Rosa had been deceived, she should have been looking for the person who had tricked her, not coming to Joe. After all the times she had persistently bothered him, Paul wondered if she still didn't understand the situation. Her body trembled, a flush of embarrassment rising to her cheeks as she bit her lip in an attempt to explain herself. "I'm just used to calling him that. I know who he is. I just couldn't change it in the heat of the moment."
She had already been through so much, yet Paul seemed oblivious to her pain. His cold, detached correction only deepened her sense of desperation.
Of course, she knew she shouldn't call him "Ned". But if she didn't, Joe wouldn't remember the three years they had spent together.
"Mr. Martin is very busy. Please don't bother him unless it's important," Paul said sharply.
It wasn't that he lacked empathy-it was just that Rosa had repeatedly harassed Joe.
The more she came, the more she showed a complete lack of self-awareness. If she had been scammed, she should retreat somewhere private, cry it out, reflect on why she was deceived, and figure out how to avoid making the same mistake in the future. Coming here like this was pointless.
If it weren't for Rosa's ulterior motives three years ago, Joe could have returned home long before now. Even if he had lost his memory, all they would have needed to do was report it to the police.
Back then, Skylar and the others were in Murida and would have brought Joe back immediately, finding him quickly. If things had gone differently, the real Ned might not have met such a tragic end. Perhaps they could have saved him too.
It was because of Rosa's care for Joe during his time in the hospital that he had been so generous to her, giving her so much money. Money that wasn't even earned by herself, and yet she spent it so freely, keeping a boy toy who was nothing more than a gold digger. She was so easily tricked by him, and now she was crying in front of Joe. Paul couldn't understand how she had the nerve to do this.
Joe glanced at Rosa for a moment before walking straight into the building. Rosa watched him walk away, his indifference breaking her heart.
"Doesn't it weigh on your
conscience? You're stopping me from talking to him, leaving me all alone and helpless, and watching me fall apart. What do you gain from this? You're just an assistant What right do you have to do this to me?"
Rosa could tell that Paul wasn't a good person. He was just like Stephen.
He coldly stood by as she was humiliated and deceived. She couldn't believe how heartless he was.
Paul stood there, speechless after
being blamed like that. His lips twitched with irritation. "How does your helplessness and isolation concem me? Did I force you to dive with some boy toy? Or did I make you give money to him?
"Adults should take responsibility for their choices You can't keep blaming others. No wonder you can't tell right from wrong. If you think Mr. Martin doesn't know that someone sent you to keep pursuing him, you're mistaken. Don't act like other people are as foolish as you."
After saying that, Paul quickly walked into the company building. Before entering, he exchanged a few words with the security guard, who then approached Rosa. Rosa's face drained of color. It was as if she had been slapped repeatedly, each strike leaving her body stinging with pain.
She couldn't understand why no one was showing her any sympathy or care. She was the victim here, deceived by someone she trusted.
Joe had heard everything she said, yet he coldly ignored her, not saying a word. She was left confused and heartbroken.
Everyone around her seemed to have grown cold and distant, as if she no longer mattered.
...
That afternoon, after finishing her work for the day, Skylar was about to leave Gardner Group when she received a call from Simona. "Skylar, I just sent you a video. You need to see this!" Simona said urgently.
