Geez. I almost can’t believe how long it’s been. Three years have passed just like that and I have to admit that these past three years have been the best in my life. A lot has happened in all this time. Firstly, I became a much better Beta since I can now talk fluently. I was able to give a lot of useful suggestions that really helped the development of our pack. Alpha Richard and everyone else seemed very pleased with me and so, Kayden and I decided that we would suggest a treaty with Luceras.

Though Alpha Richard was very skeptical about it at first, after a lot of discussion and persuasion, he finally agreed after contacting the Silver Moon pack and confirming that the Vampires were indeed reliable allies to work with.

You wouldn’t believe how scared out of my mind I was when the news that King Cassius would be visiting our pack to discuss the alliance came to me.

I’m a Beta of the pack so there was no way I would be able to dodge the meeting and besides, if we do form an alliance with them, we’re guaranteed to see more of the Vampires and I can’t hide away from them forever so it’s better I just face it now and kindly explain everything that happened.

The good thing is, everything worked according to how Voithós or rather, Lilith had predicted. After King Cassius married Lucia, she was able to get to him and she somehow melted his icy heart. I guess that’s just the magic of love, it’s capable of anything.

After the marriage, King Cassius became a lot less inhumane and he started treating the humans better, he stopped Vampires from mercilessly and unnecessarily killing humans, he stopped the Vampires from taking them as slaves and humans were also allowed to live normal lives as well. Forcing people to become b***d slaves was also prohibited. The Vampires still drank human b***d but it would be with the consent of the person involved and they would be rewarded as well.

When I heard how much Luceras had changed, I was honestly shocked out of my mind because implementing the laws he did couldn’t have been easy, especially with the prohibition of having b***d slaves. I’ve been in Luceras and I know just the fact that some Vampires are naturally cruel and derive some kind of sadistic pleasure from watching others suffer so the fact that King Cassius was able to pull it off without a rebellion breaking out is just wonderful but then again, he’s Cassius Von Drago, the very fearsome and all powerful Vampire King, if anyone could do it then it would definitely be him.

Anyways, I informed Kayden about my worries and he tried his best to calm me down. He told me that we would simply just have to tell the truth about everything that happened but I would surely have to leave the love potion out of the whole story. King Cassius wouldn’t be too happy finding out that I got him to change so much with the help of a potion and neither would Queen Lucia.

To cut the awfully long story short, King Cassius showed up at our pack with Queen Lucia, a vampire entourage and the last person I had expected to see, Prince Virgil.

My heart literally stopped beating for a few seconds when our eyes met while we were welcoming them.

Thankfully, Prince Virgil exercised basic etiquette and self control and didn’t react at all. We exchanged pleasantries and he practically behaved as if he had never met me before. I don’t know if his behavior was supposed to make me feel some kind of relief but it was just the opposite, it got me so worried that I was basically fidgeting. I instantly remembered that he could still read minds so he was doing this for his own personal enjoyment.

As expected, Prince Virgil whisked me away from the meeting when I least expected and I had a lot of explaining to do. I explained everything to him and because he was a mind reader, he saw that I was telling the truth. After hearing everything, he was a lot more understanding than I could have imagined.

He told me that he was glad that I had succeeded in my mission, it was great seeing his brother become a much more kind hearted ruler and person generally but he did express anger about me playing with his feelings.

He told me I would have to somehow compensate him for all the trouble I caused so I promised to find him a suitable bride just as I had formerly planned.

Goddess Selene being so kind just made my job easier. Margallo and Alpha Turner came to visit while we were still hosting King Cassius and Prince Virgil and Princess Margallo met and somehow hit it off.

To be honest, Margallo did work on herself a lot, she’s truly changed and she’s a much better person. We’ve become quite good friends and I’m happy that we settled our feud in the past amicably or we could have actually lost so much, including a strong friendship. Margallo and Virgil got along quite well and they were always in each other’s company for the time that the Vampire royal family stayed in our pack.

Another joy came to us when my sweet sister in law, Elsie finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who they named Valeria. Nevaeh was the most excited to meet her little niece. I could not express my joy when I was finally able to meet Elsie’s daughter. Becoming an aunt is just the best feeling in the world. It’s just as good as becoming a mother.

Alpha Richard was of course the most excited of us all and he threw a big party to celebrate his daughter’s birth. He invited all and sundry and we got a chance to welcome the vampire royal family to our pack once more. Little did we know that we would be graced with so much more good news.

During the party, Queen Lucia announced that she was carrying King Cassius’s heir and the celebration instantly doubled. As if that wasn’t enough, Prince Virgil proposed to Princess Margallo who was present in the party with her father and some other representatives of her pack. I don’t think I have to tell you what happened next, she said yes and it became a triple celebration.

It’s really so good to be friendly with everyone, there’s a certain fulfilment in sharing in the joy of others.

A few weeks later, we all had to go to the Kingdom of Luceras to attend Prince Virgil and Princess Margallo’s wedding and I almost couldn’t believe what I saw. Luceras had developed so much, since the vampires were beginning to coexist peacefully with other species, a lot of development had taken place.

Luceras became one of the biggest trade centres in the world and the city developed a lot, the people there seemed to live well, both humans and Vampires alike.

The wedding went exceptionally well and during our stay there, I got to explore a lot more of Luceras than I had the last time. Due to how terrible the situation had been when I was first forced to come to Luceras, I wasn’t granted the opportunity to look around much.

In fact, I had considered this place a prison and had wanted nothing more than to leave as soon as possible but returning here on such a wonderful occasion, I had the urge to explore. And there were indeed a lot of beautiful things to see. I, Margallo, Lucia and Elsie even had a girls day out. We had so much fun and I got to know Lucia a lot better. She’s such a nice person, King Cassius is indeed lucky to have her. No cross that, they’re lucky to have each and they were always meant for each other, I’m grateful to have been given the honour of being their match maker.

We all had such a wonderful time at Luceras and I almost didn’t want to leave but then again, no matter how wonderful a place might be, there’s definitely no place like home. We had to return home eventually as Alpha Richard couldn’t be away from the pack for too long.

Kayden has been the best mate so far and I consider myself exceedingly lucky to have him by my side. He’s also taken his duties as the Prince of the Kizmet Pack a lot more seriously.

He’s often away on official royal duties that the Alpha is too busy to attend to and I couldn’t be more proud of him. We’re all doing our possible best to make the Pack the best it can be.

Nevaeh has grown up quite nicely, she’s so beautiful and sweet but she’s nothing quite like me, she’s a loud mouth and she’s also quite sassy as well. As she grows up, she reminds me more and more of Zephyr even when I try hard not to. I just hope that I never have to see him again.

I feel hands wrap around me, instantly pulling me out of my reverie. I relax when I see that it’s just Kayden.

“You scared me.” I said, feigning annoyance. He kissed my cheek before kissing my neck. “I’m sorry but I can’t help but wonder what my beautiful wife was thinking about so deeply that she didn’t hear me come in.” He whispered and I giggled.

“I was just thinking about how much time flies and all the happy memories that we’ve made. I mean it feels just like yesterday when we met for the first time but it’s almost been four years and though the circumstances weren’t very favourable at the time, we were always meant to be. Despite the fact that we had to go through so much, despite good and bad, we finally made it up to this point and each day, our love for one another only grows.” I said and he removed his hands from around me and turned me around instead.

“You really shouldn’t think about the bad times, instead think about all the good things we’ve achieved from all those unpleasant situations and also think about how bright the future will be from now on. We have a beautiful family and our pack is becoming stronger everyday, we’re forming new alliances everyday and things can only get better from here on out so you really should stop worrying.” Kayden persuaded.

“I know, I’m not worried. Well, I guess I am a little worried. I just don’t want anything that’ll spoil our happiness, I want this joy to last forever.” I said hopefully.

Kayden raised my chin and looked into my eyes before speaking the words that completely calmed me down.

“It’ll be alright, I promise. And even if something goes wrong, I promise to be by your side every step of the way. We’ll figure out and solve any problem that comes our way, just like we always have.” He assured me and I hugged him tight.

“How do you always know exactly the right words to say?” I questioned, still wrapped in his arms.

“The truth is, it’s all you, my love. You inspire me everyday.” He said and just then, we heard a knock on the door.

We broke from the hug and Kayden gave the person permission to come in.

The door opened and Elsie walked into the room. “I hope I didn’t disturb the both of you?” She questioned, teasingly.

“Maybe you did but don’t worry, we won’t hold it against you.” Kayden said and I nudged him in the side playfully while Elsie just giggled.

“Alright. Richard is holding a meeting soon and the both of you are needed. I think it’s about something important.” Elsie revealed and Kayden and I exchanged glances for a second before returning our attention to her.

“Sure, we’ll be right there.” I affirmed and Elsie nodded. “Also, the children are playing together in the garden and Emily is watching them so you don’t have to worry.” Elsie relayed and I nodded.

“OK, so I’ll meet you both in the throne room.” Elsie said before taking her leave.

“I wonder what Richard is calling this meeting for.” Kayden voiced. “I’m just as clueless as you boo and I guess we have to go if we want to find out.” I said and he pinched my cheek.

“Trying to be smart, are we?” He teased me. “Let’s go then. After you, my lady.” He said and I shook my head shyly. “Thank you, my good man.” I replied and we both chuckled before leaving the room hand in hand.
