By the time everything had settled and the civilians retreated back to their homes, it was almost sunrise, so they decided to station in the pack house for the day.

Nolan continued to think about Kat. Today was her birthday. And it was when she was supposed to find her beloved. However, that will have to wait. He couldn’t wait to touch her so that she would finally realise that he was the one she had been waiting for. He just couldn’t wait to go back.

A group of wolves came to meet David, asking him to be their alpha. But David denied. He no longer had the desire to be their alpha. He wanted to be with Carol.

The king cleared his throat gaining their attention.

“Actually you and Carol will be crowned king and queen of this millennium. Which means you will be the most powerful rulers of the mystical world. Perhaps you can choose an alpha for them. You would know them better right.”

David sighed and glanced at the group who had come forward. He looked at the one who came to meet him as their leader.

“Why don’t you be alpha? Or maybe if the pack can choose some one they like. I think that would be the best.” He suggested.

The wolves exchanged glances between them.

“Actually, we are here to apologize for our mistakes. We are immensely sorry about what our superiors had done. And I cannot be alpha. Because I am not one. I am just a mere follower.” He said.

David nodded. He was right. Being alpha requires leadership qualities and wit.

“Perhaps you could merge with the neighbouring pack. Go to them, and submit to their alpha. Maybe they will accept. If they don’t come to the vampire territory. That would be better than going rouge.” He told them. He couldn’t think of a better solution.

“Yes. Your highness.” They bowed down in respect before they left. The time passed by and it was time for them to leave when the sun set.

David had absolutely no desire to stay in the pack for a long time. However, he wanted to do one thing before he left.

When the sun set, he took Carol to the cemetery of the pack, where his parents and grandparents would be buried. The former alphas and Luna’s would be buried in a special place. He walked right up to his father’s grave which was right beside his mother’s. Smiling at it, he kneeled beside the grave.

“Hi mom and dad. I have finally gotten my revenge. I killed them all dad. I got them good.” He sighed. “I miss you so much dad.” He choked through the tears that had gathered in his eyes.

Memories of the times he had spent with his father and grandparents flooded back to him making him chuckle through his tears. Those were the good times, until greed got in the way. Greed had made them that steal and kill for the sake of wealth and power.

He glanced at the graves of his grandparents which was just a few feet away.

“Hey. Grandma. I’ve finally gotten rid of the one who killed you. I miss you all so much.” He whispered.

Carol gulped down the accumulated saliva in her mouth. She watched her beloved mourn for his loved ones. She watched him from a distance at first, but when she saw how heartbroken he was, she no longer could stay silent.

She walked carefully towards him and placed her small hand on his shoulder. David looked over his shoulder and smiled at her. And then he turned back towards the graves and sighed.

“Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa. I’ve met my second chance mate. And she is the best thing that had happened to me.” He whispered, making Carol smile at him.

He turned around and took her in his arms.

“Let’s go love. We cannot make them Wait for a long time. Can we?” he murmured as he placed his face in her hair, inhaling the scent that he loved.

When they arrived at the pack house, everyone was ready to leave. They marched all the way to the vampire clan, announcing their victory. They were given a hero’s welcome. They marched right in to the palace, where Kat and Gabriella had made sure that the whole castle was fully prepared for them.

Kat in her excitement hugged her father and brother, glad to see them safe and sound. Nolan watched her from a distance, hiding his desire to take her in his arms.

“I am so glad to see you all back!” Kat squealed.

“Now we can have the ceremony too…” she said, making Nolan snap his head at her.

“Ceremony?” he asked.

“Yeah. The one where I’ll find my beloved.” Kat mumbled as she tilted her head at him. “Hey! You still haven’t met yours!” She exclaimed.

Nolan chuckled.

“Actually…I have. Last year.” He replied as he shrugged, a continuous smile pasted on his face as he stared at her.

“What?” David and Evan gasped at the same time, while Carol and Elle gaped at Nolan.

“Who?”

Where is she?”

“Why didn’t you tell us?”

“Why isn’t she with you?”

Nolan was bombarded with a series of questions. But none of that mattered to him. He continued to stare at Kat, who was as excited as the others to know who Nolan’s beloved was.

“Who is it?” Kat asked, eager to know.

A little smirk curved his lips. “You want to know?” he asked. Kat nodded, smiling on her excitement.

Nolan chose to stay silent and tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She gasped when their skin contacted, freezing on her position. She stared at the smirking young vampire in front of her.

Nolan was her beloved!

“You!” she whispered.

“Hi!” he whispered back.

“Whoa. Wait. What?” Evan got in between Kat and his best friend, glancing in between them.

“You….and you?” he raised his eyebrows and g*****d.

“No way! My sister? Duuuuude!” he frowned at Nolan who shrugged.

“What is going on?” Gabriella approached the crown of youngsters who seemed to be in a serious discussion.

“Aunty. Nolan is Kat’s beloved.” Carol stated before anyone else could say anything. Evan g*****d while Kat was still in her state of shock.

Kat’s mother smiled.

“We thought so.” She said and looked at her daughter who was speechless.

“Dear, are you ok?” she asked.

“Umm… No…. I mean.. I never thought….” she stuttered.

Nolan’s heart slowly started to sink. Doesn’t she want him? His smile slowly faded away, and a huge lump formed in his throat. But he mustered up all the courage he could and face her.

“If you don’t like it, you can choose Kat. It’s ok. I mean you do deserve the best.” He murmured as he lowered his gaze. Evan and Kat looked at Nolan in surprise.

“No!” Kat exclaimed sooner than anyone else could say anything.

“No. Nolan don’t say that….I…. I was just shocked.” Kat started to feel bad about how she had reacted. She took a step forward and wrapped her arms around him.

Sparks of the bond erupted where their skin contacted, making her sigh in content.

“Of course I want you. And you are the best for me.” She replied in a hushed whisper. Nolan smiled and hugged her back as he closed his eyes.

Evan too patted on his arm. “Hey. Welcome to the family. You are my brother now.” He smirked at him.

“My turn!” Kat’s mother exclaimed and took both Kat and Nolan in a bear hug making every one laugh while Kat and Nolan struggled to break free from her hold.

“Congratulations dear. I am so happy for you both. You are perfect for each other. Now life is complete. I can breath peacefully now. All my kids have found their life partners.” She exclaimed when she finally let them go.

David glanced at his mate, who seemed to be enjoying the scenery. Gabriella was right. Life was indeed complete.
