Red Hot Love – Chapter 30

It’s been a few days since Ozzy and Azai stayed the night in my bedroom. At first, it wasn’t really planned for them to stay the whole night. Then Azai told us that he could set up a spell that just “helped” my parents to not want to check on me. I’ve never slept so good in my entire life.

I still can’t believe that Azai almost marked me, or that I secretly really wanted him to. One second I was just washing him, I could see him staring at me as I did so. I just thought that he was admiring me, or something. Ozzy used to do the same thing all the time.

Then Azai smashed his lips to mine. At first I was stunned, but then he slipped his tongue in my mouth, and I lost all sense. When he started to k**s down my neck, and I felt his fangs, more than just l**t sparked inside of me. I was excited, thrilled to be fed on.

I’ve been wondering since then, what would have happened if Ozzy hadn’t interrupted us. Azai seemed very sure that I would be a marked women by now, er, well, more marked. That simple thought had been consuming me over the last few days.

There’s a huge part of me that wants it to happen. That part of me wants to seek Azai out, and tease him until he gives in. Another part is screaming at me to have some sense.

Ever since I agreed to give this relationship a shot, it’s like all sense flew out the window when I’m around Azai. I’ve never been in a situation like this before. It was always Ozzy, and me. We grew up together. We knew from such a young age that we belonged together. I never had to deny him, or try to stay away from him.

Why am I even doing that with Azai again? All because of what Ethan tried to do? Am I really pushing away this rare bond with two amazing people, all because I’m scared of how people will see us?

I keep breaking it down in my head. I spent so many months avoiding Azai because I knew exactly how I would feel if I spent any time around him. I’m falling for him. Ozzy is already head over heels for our third mate. The more time I spend with them, or even thinking about them, the more I don’t understand why I was pushing so hard before.

I don’t even feel the same way towards Ethan anymore. In fact, I’ve been debating on actually telling my parents about him trying to corner me twice. Actually, I have been fantizing about what would happen if I told Ozzy, and Azai about the second time Ethan cornered me.

All of me know is that there is a very big chance that Ethan would lose his life. The more I thought about it, the harder it got for me to care. Part of me actually thinks he deserves it.

Does that make me a bad person? Should I want him to die for what he tried to do? Is this why I was mated to a Morningstar? Because I have some kind of darkness in me?

I’m not so sure about that. Ethan is a disgusting person. It would be stupid of me to think he wouldn’t try something like this later on in life. There could be other girls.

That brings me to the present day. It’s Friday. Earlier in the week I had asked the girls in our class if they wanted to have a girls night this weekend. There is only four of us. I think it’s the perfect opportunity to tell them what happened, and get their advice.

“So, Mom and Dad are working all night. They told us to behave, and no mates are allowed over.” Lily said giving Alison, and I pointed looks.

We looked at each other, and rolled our eyes.

“Got it.” Alison said.

I looked to Caroline. “I’m so happy you came. I wasn’t sure if you would.” I told her.

Caroline doesn’t commute much with anyone. I’m not sure why. She just keeps to herself. I kind of respect that.

“Thank you for inviting me.” She said with a shy smile.

“You’ve never came before when I invited you.” Lily grumbled.

“Well, now that I know you all can be trusted..” Caroline trailed off.

I scrunched up my face. “Uhhhh, what you mean by that?” I asked her.

Caroline looked up at me with a bright smile.

“Well, you’re mated to a Morningstar. That proves that you’re a good person, so your friends must be too. I’m just sorry I never gave you guys the chance before.” She said.

We all blinked at her.

“Don’t people usually say the opposite about Morningstar’s?” Lily asked, and then looked at me. “No offense.”

I gave her a bored look.

Caroline giggled. “Do you guys not know how I got here?” She asked.

“Come to think of it… No. I guess.. we just assumed you were found, or something.” I said.

We all know that Caroline is an orphan. She came here when we were all about six, or seven. At the time we weren’t concerned with where she had come from, just that we had another Fury to add to our coven.

“Uhm, well, I was found.” Caroline told us. “When I was five, at a lab run by humans.” She told us.

My eyes went wide, and Lily gasped.

“Who saved you?” Alison asked, not the slightest bit shocked.

“I’m sorry, is this normal?” I asked them. “For humans to.. keep supernaturals in.. labs?” I asked.

Alison furrowed her brow as she looked at me.

“Have you not been having talks with Azai?” She asked.

I frowned. “Not about humans, and labs.” I said.

Alison sighed. “You people know nothing out here.” She grumbled. “Look, there are lots of humans who kill supernaturals, and worse. They are called Hunters. It’s a whole organization. The BOC helps to hunt down them down, and save the creatures they have locked up. You should really ask Azai about it.” She said.

“Why would she ask Azai about it? He’s our age, he isn’t, like, out there doing anything.” Lily said.

“No, but his older sister is in charge of the BOC. Before her, it was his mother. Not only that but..” Alison trailed off. “Azai’s sister Akeehla was kidnapped by some of them. The humans had her for two years. It left her pretty traumatized.” She told us.

“Oh.” Was all I could manage.

Akeehla was the one I met on the call with her friends. She seemed so nice. It hurt my heart to hear that she was kidnapped. What ballsy humans, to kidnap a Morningstar.

“So, how do you know so much?” Lily asked Alison.

“I was also rescued.” She said as she looked at Caroline. “The current Lycan King’s father was the one to rescue me. So, who rescued you?” She asked.

Caroline’s face flushed. “It was Lydia actually. Azai’s mom. I’ve never seen anyone look so fierce before.” She told us.

“Lydia not only rescued me from that horrid place, but she helped me more than that. At that time I had no idea what I was, or how to use my power. Lydia did a lot of digging for me, on top of everything else she does. She some how found your parents.” Caroline said looking at me.

“They met me, knew exactly what I was, and took me in no questions asked.” Then she gave me a wide smile. “I’ve never been so greatful for someone in my entire life. That’s why I know you’re a good person. Because the Morningstar’s are good people. They have to be to have someone like Lydia as a mate.” She said.

“Besides, Azai is so kind, and caring.” She added.

I felt the heat rise in me, and I narrowed my eyes at her.

“How would you know that?” I bit out.

“Whoa, calm down killer.” Alison told me. “Azai is kind to everyone, he can’t help it. He may, or may not have had lunch with Caroline a couple of times. Ya know, back when you were ignoring him still.” She told me.

My anger quickly turned to guilt.

Caroline placed her hand on top of mine.

“He talked about you and Ozzy the entire time. He has no idea that I even know his mother.” She told me.

I smiled at her. “Sorry.” I mumbled.

“Well, I’m just happy that you finally started to give him a chance. I was about to steal him away from you.” Lily stated.

I rolled my eyes before looking at her.

“You would never do that to me, and I would have killed you if you did.” I stated.

Lily giggled.

“Azai would never have given you the chance anyways.” Alison said.

“Why do you say that? It’s not like I was being the greatest.” I mumbled.

Alison snorted. “Look, I know Azai, sort of. He is a kind man. Super caring of everyone around him. Like dumb caring. Goes out of his way for people type of guy, but.. I guarantee you that no one will ever be able to wiggle their way into his heart, expect for you and Ozzy.” She told me.

“How can you be so sure? Cause you slept with him?” Lily asked.

I felt the heat rise in me again.

Alison g*****d dramatically.

“Yes, I slept with your mate, and no you cannot punch me in the face over it. I don’t care if my mate hit yours or not.” She told me.

“It would only be fair.” I said sweetly.

“Azai told Elis to hit him, I tried to stop it.” Alison argued.

I shrugged. “That’s not how it works with Fury’s.” I said.

“Okay, wait. I really want to know why she’s so sure that Azai would never fall for anyone.” Lily said. “Obviously he was sleeping with other people before. Did he go through, like, a really bad heart break, or something?” She asked.

Alison sputter out laughter.

“Oh Gods no. People tried. Boy did some really try. It was a little pathetic sometimes.” She said.

“Azai was always honest with his partners. I had only been with him one time. We were at a party. The first thing he said to me was ‘I can take you home if you want, but I won’t fall for you. This is just s*x, that good with you?'” Then she laughed. “That was all I wanted anyways, but from what I heard, that was how he was with everyone. There was one couple that grew… a little too attached. I actually hate them because of it.” Alison told us.

“Why?” Lily asked.

“Because. Azai isn’t a bad person. He should be able to have s*x with whoever he wants, and not feel bad about it. Especailly when he was being honest the whole time. They took things too far. Started spreading all kinds of nasty rumors about Azai, and how he’s just a d**k headed fuckboy. Just a bunch of lies, but because of who he is.. Well, things got rough for a while. People are already mean to Morningstar’s.” She told us.

“Thankfully, Azai made a lot of friends along the way though. There were lots of people willing to defend him. After some time, things quieted down, but that couple never gave up.” Alison said with wide eyes. “I’m pretty sure that they tried to get with him a bunch after he met you guys.” She told me.

There’s that heat again.

“What are their names again?” I asked.

Alison laughed. “Ben and Hope. Why? Wanna go beat ’em up?” She asked as she wiggled her eyebrows.

My face flushed. “No.. How would we even get there?” I asked.

“We can go there for spring break.” Alison suggested.

I thought about it for a moment. “Really?” I asked.

Alison nodded excitedly.

“Olive.” Lily scolded. “You cannot beat them up.” She said.

“Why not?” I asked with a pout.

“Yeah, why not?” Alison added.

Lily rolled her eyes, and looked at Caroline.

“Help me out here.” She said.

Caroline shrugged. “I’d love to go there for spring break.”

Lily blinked at Caroline for a moment before we all burst out in laughter.

“Okay, so, what’s the real reason that you wanted all of us to get together?” Alison asked.

“Huh?” I asked.

Alison gave me a bored look.

“You keep to yourself for the most part. You’ve never invited us to do something like this before. Plus, you’ve been all spacey since we’ve been here.” She told me.

“I agree, and I’m your best friend so I would know.” Lily said.

I chewed on my bottom l*p. How am I supposed to bring this up? I have a feeling that these girls are going to track Ethan down after I tell them.

“There is something that I have to tell you guys. Something important that I need advice on. But you guys have to promise not to do anything, but give me advice.” I looked at all of them. “I mean it. You guys can’t even say anything. No one knows, including Ozzy.” I said.

“Okay, okay we get it.” Alison said.

“What is it Olive?” Lily asked.

I took a deep breath. “You guys all know the things that Ethan has been saying about me..” I started.

“Yeah… He’s a total a*****e. What about it?” Alison asked.

“Okay. About a month before school started Ethan cornered me outside. I had stepped out to get some fresh air. It was the second time he cornered me. Ozzy stepped in the first time before Ethan could even get too close to me, but this time..” I trailed off.

Someoone put their hand on top of mine. I looked up into Alison’s eyes. Lily and Caroline came closer to me.

“Did he do something to you Olive?” Lily asked softly.

I shook my head. “No, he tried to, but it didn’t get that far. He just.. went on and on about how if I could be with two guys I could handle more. He.. He, uh, put his hands on me, but then I pushed him away, and ran. Like a coward.” I rolled my eyes.

“That doesn’t make you a coward.” Caroline told me.

“We should go kick his a*s.” Alison said angrily.

I shook my head. “No. We can’t do that.”

“Olive, how come you never told anyone? Ethan could be dangerous.” Lily said.

“I know.” I said. “At the time I just wanted to forget about it. I was already messed up in the head from ignoring Azai. I wasn’t sure what to think about myself. I thought every guy was going to start treating me like that. I thought that if I just ignored it that things would get better.” I admitted.

“Well that’s stupid.” Alison said.

I scowled at her. “I know that now.” I said. “That’s why I’m telling you guys. Before Azai got here, I didn’t feel safe at all. Now that he’s here.. Even though Ethan’s comments continue here and there.. I’m just thinking more clearly. I don’t want him to push himself on another girl. Especially one that can’t fight back. I.. I want to tell someone. I don’t think that it’s a good idea for me to tell Ozzy and Azai. Ozzy already wants to kill Ethan.. Azai is a Morningstar.. What if they really do kill him?” I asked.

“I say let them.” Alison said with a shrug.

Lily, and I gaped at her.

“I agree with Alison.” Caroline said.

We turned to her with our jaws on the floor.

“What? No.” I said.

“Why not? Ethan is a piece of s**t who doesn’t deserve to live.” Alison said. “Nobody even likes him here. Elis is the grumpiest out of all of you, and even he has trouble not beating the s**t out of Ethan. I say we tell your mates, and let them handle it.” She said.

“And what happens after they kill him huh?” I asked.

Alison shrugged. “I don’t think anyone in our communities would blame either of them. Mates are special. The moment others hear that Ethan tried to force himself on a Morningstar’s mate..” Alison blew out a whistle. “I think other supernaturals would understand.” She said.

I shook my head. “No. I’m not going to risk that.” I said.

“Yeah, other supernaturals will probably want proof that Ethan did something wrong. They definitely aren’t just going to take her word for it. Especially the people who deeply hate the Morningstar’s. They could use this against them.” Caroline said.

“Exactly.” I said.

“So, you want to tell your parents then?” Alison asked.

“That’s what I’m asking you guys. I want to do something.” I said.

“What happenes if you tell your parents?” Alison asked. “Your mates, along with everyone, would figure it out eventually.” She said.

I chewed on my l*p. “I didnt think about that.” I admitted.

“Well, what were you thinking?” Caroline asked.

“I don’t know. That my mom and dad would handle it. That Ethan wouldn’t be here anymore, and all of this would go away.” I said.

“And what? Ozzy and Azai wouldn’t ask what happened?” Alison asked.

I shrugged. “Ethan would be gone by then.” I said.

Alison snorted. “Azai can teleport. Not only that, but..” She trailed off and made a strange face.

“What?” I asked.

Alison’s entire face light up. She turned to me, and grabbed my face. Before I could ask her what the hell she was doing, she planted a quick, but hard k**s to my lips. I made a disgusted sound.

“What the f**k Alison?” I yelled at her.

“I know what we should do. I don’t know how I didn’t think of it right away.” She said.

“Okay, but did you have to k**s me? Our mates are going to feel that.” I said.

She ignored my question.

“What do we have to do?” Lily asked her.

Alison gave me a sinister smile.

“Let’s call Atiana Morningstar.”
