Reborn From Oblivion
Chapter 459

Nathan said, "Who else can I trust?" The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and Nathan felt he had to do something to lighten the mood. He opened the car door and stepped out. Like a true gentleman, he helped Nathalie out of the car. Trying to break the ice, he said, "Dominick told me you've got this huge orchard in the countryside. The fruits and veggies are thriving-I'd love to come by and check it out sometime." Nathalie teased, "With your germophobia, I doubt you'd last a day out there."

Panic surged through Nathan. Nathalie lived in the countryside, and if he couldn't get over his germophobia, wouldn't their get-togethers be few and far between?

Determined, Nathan declared, "I've overcome my germophobia."

He couldn't let it stand between him and Nathalie.

Nathalie was surprised, "Really?"

Nathan nodded confidently, "Absolutely."

Nathalie handed him a basket of potatoes, "Then take these home."

Seeing the dirt on the potatoes, Nathan felt uneasy, but he forced a cheerful smile, "They're quite charming."

Nathalie couldn't help but laugh at his struggle, "Nathan, you're even more charming than they are."

Nathan realized she saw through his act. Feeling a bit defeated, he said, "Sis, trust me. I'll get over my germophobia..."

Nathalie gently advised, "Why are you so set on overcoming it?"

Nathan, full of emotion, replied, "If I don't beat this darn germophobia, how can I stay by your side in the future?" Stay by her side?

Nathalie's mind went blank, and her

cheeks flushed. She quickly grabbed the potatoes from Nathan and walked ahead with her head down.

Seeing her brush him off, Nathan felt a pang of disappointment. He followed her with his usual stoic yet handsome expression.

Ford and Dominick noticed Nathan's

poker face and shivered internally.

He only looked like that when he was seriously upset. They immediately assumed Nathalie had complained about them and, filled

ir knees

with dread, dropped to their

before Nathan. "Boss, we messed up. Please, punish us."

Nathan, seeing their reaction, knew they'd kept something from him. He coolly asked, "You know what you did wrong?" "Yes, yes."

"If you know you were wrong, shouldn't you write a reflection?"

Ford immediately launched into a reflection as if he were defending thesis, "Honorable leader: Since joining you, I've always followed the rules and worked hard to help you. But, being only human, I mistakenly treated Miss Nathalie, who visited during your illness, as just another farmer. I rudely turned her away."

Ford stole a glance at Nathan's darkening expression, his own face turning pale with fear.

"Boss, I promise to change and from now on, I'll show Miss Nathalie the respect and care she deserves, just like you do." Dominick, ever the clever one, added, "What Ford said goes for me too."

Nathan clenched his teeth, trembling with rage, "So, you two have been treating Nathalie with such disdain behind my back?"
