Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies -
Chapter 985
Chapter 985
The heads of two cities met and anyone who knew about it knew that a storm was ahead. Everyone wondered why they were meeting and whether there had been drastic changes in the market, since such a meeting had never taken place in the past, what others were not aware of was that it was a simple lunch.
Anthony arrived at the restaurant to find Corentin alone inside.
“Sorry I am late.” He sat down.
“It's fine, I have just arrived myself as well,” Corentin said, “We've been saying that we should meet up for dinner since my visit to Luton. Who knew that our first meal together would be here in Athetin. I hope everything is satisfactory for you.”
"Of course. I was going to call you, but the news traveled faster than I did, I suppose.” Anthony remained composed.
“It's hard for me not to notice after all the big movements you made.” Corentin’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help?”
The two were sharp enough to know better than to beat around the bushes.
“I'm looking for a woman by the name Lilian Smith. I shot her and she fell into the Noxus River. She was last seen here in Athetin but went missing afterward,” Anthony said.
“Sure. I will keep an eye out and find her,” Corentin said, before glancing at his watch, hinting that there was another person coming.
“I thought we were the only ones here,” Anthony said impatiently.
“You know her. Here she is,” Corentin said.
Anthony turned around and saw Bianca being led into the restaurant by the waiter, dressed in the most sophisticated dress.
“Bianca happens to be in Athetin at the same time as you. Consider this as just another friend joining.”
Bianca arrived by the table. “Uncle.” She turned to look at Anthony longingly. “Anthony.”
Anthony remained quiet with a cold look on his face.
Sensing his distant attitude, the smile on her face froze.
“Sit,” Corentin said.
Bianca sat down next to Anthony. The table was rectangular-shaped so she could either sit beside Corentin or Anthony, and it did not seem out of line for her to sit down next to Anthony.
"Serve the food,” Corentin raised his arm and commanded the waiter.
Corentin seemed to be unaware that Bianca was not Nigel's daughter by blood for him to invite her along.
Soon, countless dishes filled the table and the waiter immediately stood aside, remaining in a distance where the three would be able to see him.
"What kind of wine do you want?"
“I'm good. I will be returning to Luton after this,” Anthony said.
Bianca glanced at Anthony. Though she did not know why Anthony was in Luton, she assumed that it was for work.
“Sure. I will contact you if I find anything,” Corentin said, before turning to Bianca. “What about you?"
“I have a piano performance later at night. Anthony, Uncle, may I invite you to be my guests there?” Bianca asked.
She mentioned Corentin on purpose so that she would sound more natural.
Corentin remained quiet and did not respond.
“I'm busy,” Anthony refused.
Bianca's expression darkened and decided to try another angle. “Anthony, how about this, bring Anne here.”
Anthony did not bother to respond as he did not intend on changing his mind.
Bianca realized that no matter how she phrased it, she would still be rejected.
“I'll take Ashlynn to see your performance later,” Corentin said, easing the tension in the air.
