Chapter 949

Anne sat nervously in front of the Royal mansion, trying to stop Chloe from catching any caterpillars.

The streetlights in the garden were already on, dotting the area with a beautiful, pearlescent glow. The footlights along the path stretched out into the distance, almost as if they were trying to pull people's lonely hearts toward them.

Anne stared off into the distance until she heard the sound of a car approaching. At first, she thought it was just her imagination.

Then, the children responded quickly. “Look, a car! It's a Rolls — Loyce!” they shouted. Anne stared blankly at the car as it pulled to a stop, and Anthony stepped out. He seemed the same as usual. “Is Papa tired?” Chloe asked. “Is everything okay?” Chris chimed in.

Anthony touched Chloe's head and looked up at Anne. I'm fine,” he said.

Anne was slightly surprised. It was almost seven o'clock, and Anthony had not eaten. How was that possible? Had he eaten with Bianca...

“Papa hasn't eaten. Let's go get food!” Charlie said.

“Haven't you eaten? I don't want to be a bother,” Anthony asked.

Chloe replied, “We have!”

“Then you don't need to accompany me.” Anthony said as he embraced Anne, “Come eat with me.” “I... already ate,” Anne stammered. “Then watch me eat, Anthony said, pulling Anne away with him. The triplets stood there, dumbfounded and angry.

They were naturally upset that Anne was being taken away.

There were several dishes on the dining table and a bowl of rice in front of Anthony. Anne put the utensils down in front of her and said, “I already ate.”

“Bring her some juice,” Anthony ordered. Hayden quickly squeezed a glass of fresh juice and brought it to Anne. She took a sip and found it to be refreshing and sweet.

She looked at Anthony, who was eating alone, and realized that he had not eaten dinner. Why?

“I thought you said on the phone that you had eaten,” Anne said. “I was too busy to eat,” Anthony replied.

Anne thought to herself. Maybe she had misunderstood. Perhaps Anthony had not gone to see Bianca but had something urgent to attend to at the company.

She was frustrated by her own emotional inconsistency.

Why did Anthony's trip to see Bianca make her feel so down? When he was not around, she felt like she had lost her support in life and was filled with anxiety and uncertainty. As soon as he returned, those feelings vanished.

Anthony's hand grasped hers, providing a sense of stability and bringing her back to reality. She met his dark, bottomless eyes and stammered, “What...what's wrong?”

“Do you worry about me?” he asked. Anne thought to herself. Was her fear of being ignored by Anthony really a form of worry? She nodded, feeling embarrassed.

In the next moment, she was pulled onto Anthony's lap and felt her face flush with panic. “You... you're eating,” she said. “I'm full,” Anthony replied. “Already? But you barely took a few bites...” Anne's words trailed off as Anthony's handsome, cold face moved closer to hers.
