Chapter 888

Corentin toyed with the cigarette between his fingers. No one touches her. Besides, without her, do you think you can enjoy this life that you have right now?"

Paul smiled and leaned back against the couch. “That's true. I guess you never know what happens. If Corentin doesn't care, you all have no place to complain, not when you are having the best time of your lives right now.”

Rendered speechless, Owen still felt enraged, but knew that there was nothing he could do if Corentin wanted Ashlynn.

Corentin scanned them coldly. “Learn from Paul. If any of you come in my way, I will make sure you suffer for it.”

All these men had followed Salvatore’s lead from years. ago and were all obedient to his orders. Ashlynn stepped out of the car and spotted Corentin waiting for her by the road with both his hands in his pockets. He walked over, wrapped his arm around her waist, before lowering his head to nip on her lips.

“Ugh...you reek of alcohol...” She complained.

"Better that than smelling perfume from me, don't you think?” He whispered devilishly into her ear. "..What exactly do you want to show me?”

“Let's go in.” He took her into the bar.

Going into places like this with Corentin was the last thing she wanted, but she wanted to know what he was hiding

Anne had mentioned to her that the Lloyd Family held secrets, and Ashlynn knew that Corentin was definitely involved in those secrets, her only way to the truth was to stay close to Corentin and observe.

She was shut off of everything when Corentin locked her in his mansion, so the deafening music and blinding lights were overwhelming.

There were men and women in revealing clothes as far as the eyes could see and as they marched deeper into the bar, the noises faded.

The door to the private room opened and Ashlynn said that all the men inside had women in their arms. When she saw the faces of the men, she froze and paled.

“These are all men who belonged to Salvatore’s gang. I can't believe they are out of prison already...” She thought.

"Come. Let's re-introduce you to everyone.” Corentin pushed her forward.

Unable to escape, she was dragged to sit down next to Corentin.

“It's been so long, Sis,” Paul greeted her at first with a smile, before glancing at the others warningly. “Yeah. It's been a while, Sis..." The others followed

No matter how hard she tried to reel her emotions in, she could not help but breath heavily.

It was almost as though nothing had changed and her nightmare had been copied and pasted to reality, the only difference was that they all looked far more glamorous on the outside.

Paul and Owen were Salvatore’s left and right-hand men and they were as close as brothers. All of the men inside the room were criminals.

'So Corentin has been drinking with these guys,’ she thought to herself.

The waitress brought over milder alcoholic drinks and Corentin poured her a glass. “See? I'm not with another woman.”

"Sis, we are witnesses to that. We were shoving women at him but he turned them all down,” Paul said.

“There's no other man like Corentin. I hope someone knows how good they have it,” Owen said sarcastically, “I heard that the more educated a person is, the bigger traitor they are. I wonder if that's true.”

"Sis was the only one who graduated from college in our area! Everyone looked up to her. That's how Corentin fell for you.”

The tension that Owen rose instantly eased.

Ashlynn had never liked these men and did not like it that Salvatore spent time with them

They would either be drinking or committing unspeakable acts whenever they gathered, but she had no control over Salvatore both in the past and the future, so she did not bother saying anything about it.

“You've been with him this entire time?” She asked, “Are you working in the Lloyd Group?”
