“Alright.”

There was a knock on the door, and the door opened. Soon after, Tommy walked in with a stern look, holding a fruit basket.

Sarah was surprised and glanced at Anne.

"Why are you here?" Anne asked.

"I thought you were finally willing to get rid of Anthony and relax abroad. I didn't expect you to come back.” Then, Tommy put the fruit basket on the table, looked at Nigel, and asked, "What did the doctor say?”

"They're still trying to find a cure,” Anne said.

Tommy did not say anything but just stared at Anne. Later, he asked, "Grab a bite with me?"

Anne hesitated and looked at Sarah, saying, “I'm going out for a while.”

Sarah did not like Tommy very much, but she reluctantly agreed since her daughter said so.

Anne was willing to grab a bite with Tommy because she had something to ask him. "Can you help me check something?”

"So, you're not here to eat with me, but you want something from me,” Tommy said

"Are you willing to help?" Anne asked, "If you aren't, I'm going back.”

"Are you begging me?" Tommy pushed the teacup to her.

Anne thought, "I'm obviously threatening you!"

"What do you want me to check?" Tommy felt as if he was getting addicted to the chase.

"I don't know what to look for, but I have a feeling that something must've happened to my dad before the car accident. Everything seems strange," Anne said.

Nigel was in good health, yet he made a will and had a car accident.

Why?

"What benefits am I getting from this?” Tommy asked.

Anne frowned at him. "What do you want? Money?"

"Do you think I'm short of money?" Tommy wanted to ask her if she was dumb.

"Then what benefits do you want?" Anne did not want to get involved with him in anything other than money.

"I haven't thought about it yet, but remember, you owe me a favor, and you can't refuse when it's time to pay me back."

"What if you ask me to do something immoral? Do I have to agree too?” Anne felt that she was at a disadvantage.

"Don't worry. Everything I ask you to do is within your reach.”

Bianca stayed at home, not in the mood to work. On the other hand, Dorothy was like a cat on a hot tin roof.

They did not even have the appetite for lunch.

"I heard Anne went to the company to take over your dad's job. Don't worry. I know people in the company, and I'll have them get in her way!" Dorothy was burning with rage.

Bianca did not answer but just stared at the coffee in her hand in a daze.

"You should also think of a way! Your dad is in a coma, and Anne took over the company! The only things left for us are some cash and this house! We instantly turned into beggars!" Dorothy was going mad.

She had tried so hard to stay by Nigel's side, but she ended up like this!

The house and the money were also for Bianca, whereas she got nothing!

Bianca's eyes were full of contempt. "As long as I marry Anthony, these things from Dad are nothing."
