Marie was so frightened that she grabbed her hand while trembling all over.

A sound resembling a person falling echoed. Marie turned her head away, too afraid to look at Sven.

"Hey! Can't you be more careful?"

"I-I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Marie stammered in a panic.

She suddenly realized something and turned her head, only to see Sven and Torah grabbing each other's collars.

"What is it? What happened?" Sven asked Marie. She was bewildered.

Sven pointed disdainfully at Torah. "This guy over here is my accomplice, so he was thrown in here too. But he accidentally crushed my pocket watch. Thankfully, it's not broken." Torah clasped his hands together and apologized hastily, "Sorry, Sven. It wasn't on purpose. Those guys tied my legs and tossed me in here. I'm really sorry, truly."

"Alright, alright. Let's get to the point." Sven patted Torah.

"Oh, right, right."

Then two of them looked at Marie.

Seeing Marie's expression, it seemed she still had not grasped the situation.

"Marie, are you okay?" Sven asked gently.

"Why aren't you affected?" Marie asked, puzzled.

"Huh? I don't know. I seem to be somewhat death-resistant."

"What kind of description is that? Just say you're immortal," Torah said.

"Oh, right. Something like that. I didn't know how to put it. Marie, you..." Before Sven could finish, Marie threw herself into his arms. "What's going on?"

Marie clung tightly to Sven without saying a word, and Sven continued to gently comfort her. He could feel her tears soaking through his clothes. She cried for a long time, but he stayed by her side.

Torah crouched in a corner, silently complaining.

"Damn it. There's really nothing for me to do here. Why did Val insist I come along? I feel like a third wheel. Ugh, when are they going to talk business? They've been hugging for ages. Is it rude to interrupt them now?"

After a long while, Sven finally got to n topic. Marie agreed to their to join their mission the next day.

"Just like that?" Torah was surprised at how quickly Marie agreed.

"Yes. If I can help, I will." Marie nodded earnestly.

Marie and Sven exchanged a smile.

Torah chose to remain silent at that moment.

Early the next morning, the three got up.

"Are you two ready?" Torah asked.

Both of them nodded, and Torah nodded back.

He suddenly spat out a flare gun and fired it the next moment.

Chester and Val, who were up on the rooftop, received the signal. With a nod at each other, they began their operation!
