Chapter 636 Thief

Athena left with the files.

She found a quiet place and burned them all down. She even carefully picked up the ashes to double-check before leaving with reassurance.

Back in the car, her anger slowly dissipated.

She had signed a marriage agreement, meaning she and Byron were now married.

When she was young and ignorant, she had secretly fantasized about this day.

That year, before she faked her death and left Byron, they had almost gone to get a marriage certificate.

The anticipation and sweetness in her heart at that time were still fresh in her memory.

Years apart, she hadn't expected to go on this path after all the twists.

But the mood of that year was gone.

Now she only felt tired and wanted to press the pause button on everything.

In George's memory, he had been working tirelessly since he joined the Stella Group.

But now, his work was suspended, and he couldn't leave the country.

At first, he was even forbidden to leave where he lived, but today this ban was suddenly lifted.

George didn't tell Athena about the restrictions, so he couldn't go to visit Aiden after regaining his freedom.

Deep down, he knew why he was restricted from leaving the country.

It was Byron's doing.

He had no idea how Byron had managed to impose the ban.

But he was not worried.

He wanted Byron to see that even if Byron had those things, he could retreat unscathed.

George was a cautious person who never did things he shouldn't do.

Without evidence, suspicion could only be suspicion.

At most, he would be interrogated a few times.

After knowing that he could go out,

George went for a run early in the morning. When he came back, he had a shower, changed into casual clothes, and left in his car. After having a pleasant breakfast,

he discussed Aiden's condition with the experts.

is talking.

As they were talking, the restaurant suddenly became chaotic.

George raised his head subconsciously and saw people at the front and back tables looking out the window in surprise.

Others ran outside.

George frowned and looked out to see a tall, bald man leading a group of children to hit a boy.

Beside the boy was a thin girl who was crying and wanted to help, but the bald man kicked her away.

The boy lay on the ground. George couldn't see his face, but he recognized the little girl.

They were the siblings he had run into and given the things he had bought for Aiden and Mia. George immediately got up. He quickly paid the bills and rushed out of the restaurant.

When he arrived, someone was trying to stop the fight.

"Why are you hitting him?"

"He's a thief! Can't thieves be hit?" A child in his teens shouted fiercely.

"I didn't steal anything... No..." The boy curled up and gritted his teeth to defend himself. "The toys were given to my Mia and me by a kindhearted man, but you took them away. I was just trying to get them back."

George was taken aback.

Toys?

Could it be the two he gave them?
