Chapter 1599 May I?

Despite Bob's abundant wealth, he was notorious for being thrifty.

He bolted faster than a rabbit upon hearing Sally's suggestion. "I have a video call scheduled with my mom. I'll pass on this one. Uncle Elijah, and Sally, enjoy your alone time! Goodbye!" Sally laughed until tears were welling up. "Why does this trick work every time?"

Elijah chuckled lightly at her side.

The cheese fondue Sally liked was quite far from where they were staying.

Elijah drove for nearly two hours before finally reaching the destination.

They wandered around the area for a while. Afterward, they treated themselves to a satisfying dinner when it was time.

"I heard the hot springs here are great. How about not going back tonight and instead going for a soak?" Sally had a new idea as they were finishing up their meal.

"Sure. I'll follow your lead." Elijah nodded.

Sally immediately pulled out her phone and booked a nearby hot spring villa.

They went there directly after dinner.

Even though they had only been married briefly, Elijah maintained a high level of respect and never once overstepped any boundaries.

They were assigned one room during check-in upon arriving at the hotel.

Elijah's eyes shimmered momentarily.

The villa had its private spring. As soon as they entered the room, Sally headed straight for a shower.

The water rushed into the bathroom.

Sally looked at the water droplets sliding down the wall.

An image of Gideon briefly flashed in her mind.

Suddenly, the picture was replaced by the memory of a night on the deck. Elijah had looked at her with red-rimmed eyes and confessed his past desires for her. Sally couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Who knew what fantasies the young monk had concocted in his mind before the divine all those years ago?

It had been ten years. It was time for an inspection.

Sally exited the bathroom with her bathrobe.

Elijah sat next to the hot spring. He stared at the misty water's surface while his elegant fingers absentmindedly rolled the prayer beads.

"Elijah!" Sally called out to him.

Elijah turned his head.

"Come here!" She motioned to him.

Elijah immediately stood up and walked toward her.

"Little monk," Sally approached him and softly called out his name.

Elijah's back stiffened instantly.

"Now I'm curious. What did you imagine about me in front of the divine?" Sally's voice sounded as gentle as a flowing river.

Elijah's eyes darkened further. "It was because Gideon was about to come, so..."

"Of course not, silly. Don't mention anything useless right now!" Sally pinched his waist and then playfully bumped her nose against his. "May I kiss you?" Elijah's breath was already in disarray.

The usual aloofness had vanished entirely. He looked at Sally with reddened eyes. He was captivated by her presence.

Sally tilted her head and kissed Elijah. She felt him shiver slightly.

Shortly after, a strong arm enveloped her waist firmly.

Around the same time, Gideon arrived in Willowbrook City after a long flight.

He had a vehicle waiting for him at the airport, which had been arranged beforehand. The car then took him to Sally's residence in Willowbrook City. However, when he knocked on her door, the response he received was unexpected.

"Sir and Madam are out on a vacation trip."
