Chapter 1523 A Press Conference

"Well then, let's just hold a press conference!" Byron's voice was firm. "I'll be there in person, and they can see for themselves whether I'm alive or dead."

Since Byron was found, he had mostly been gentle, rarely showing this kind of anger.

Athena lowered her eyes and pondered for a moment. "That might be a good idea..."

"Don't worry." Byron held Athena's hand tightly. "Prepare a statement in advance, and arrange our people as the media. Nobody will notice that I've lost my memory." Athena looked up at him and smiled, "I'm not worried about that. I was actually thinking about handling those people after you recover a bit more."

"No need to wait. I can handle it."

Byron's expression softened.

"Alright, let's head home."

Midway, Athena got out of the car and bought the chocolate cake Evie liked.

Upon arriving home, they noticed a few police officers waiting.

Seeing Athena and Byron standing together, the police officers appeared surprised.

"Are you coming for Julian's matter?" Athena asked politely. "I apologize for the unnecessary use of police resources for this family matter."

"Mrs. Crawford, you're too kind." The leading officer smiled kindly. "Seeing Mr. Crawford safe and sound, we can consider the case closed."

"Byron hasn't fully recovered yet, and I wanted him to rest a bit longer. But since things have escalated to this point, we're planning to hold a press conference addressing Mr. Julian Crawford's concerns. However, please inform him that Byron has no intention of meeting with him."

"May I ask the reason?" The officer hesitated for a moment before asking.

"He took advantage of my illness to mistreat my wife and children. Do you need any other reason?" Byron's voice was cold.

"But he's your father..."

"I've made up my mind, and no need for further words." Byron finished and looked at Athena. "Honey, I'd like to go rest." "Sure," Athena responded.

She turned to the police officers, giving a slight nod. Then she supported Byron and headed for the elevator.

The police officers seemed to want to say more.

But Rose calmly interjected, "Sir, I understand your perspective. However, according to the law, Byron is an adult with the capacity to make his own decisions. No one can force him if he doesn't want to meet Julian. What do you think?"

"I see."

The leading officer nodded.

Then he led his team to leave Lakin.

On the way back, a newly recruited police officer couldn't hold back a comment. "Even if Julian mistreated Byron's wife and children during his disappearance, it seems extreme to refuse to meet him. Julian genuinely appears concerned about him..."

Julian's tearful expression as he begged for help was rather pitiable.

However, the older officers didn't respond.

They had been through Julian's recent drama from beginning to end.

Putting aside everything else, it seemed like he had spent very little time with his son.

He traveled around the world year-round and had numerous girlfriends.

According to the current rumors, he seemed to be collecting women from different countries.

Julian was such a man, always chasing women and apparently unconcerned about his child.

During Byron's disappearance, when whether he was alive was still uncertain, he quickly assumed Byron was dead to claim the inheritance.

This situation changed once he encountered a daughter-in-law like Athena.

If it were any other fragile woman reliant on her husband for her livelihood, this old fox probably would have bullied her.

Having worked in this profession for so many years, they had encountered too many unfortunate women who were cast aside in similar cases. Just as they left Lakin, the group spotted Julian live-streaming by the roadside.
