Chapter 1469 Their Father's Death

Seth had never heard that his father was a medical student.

He didn't know his father ever had a fiancée, either.

Bertha had always told him that she and his father had been childhood sweethearts and had married when they reached the marriageable age.

After marriage, his father took her to the island to run a hotel.

"You've already found Byron, and Zora's leg is disabled. What else do you want?" Bertha yelled at Athena.

She was visibly alarmed.

"Nothing. You have worn your mask for too long. I am afraid you will forget your true face, so I have to take off your mask and let your children see how vicious you are," Athena sneered. Her eyes fell on the bewildered Seth.

"That medical student was very gentlemanly and polite. He told your mother about his fiancée, but your mother lost her mind. She drugged and trapped him at her home. She kept drugging him intermittently for half a month."

Seth shook his head. "No... It's impossible. My mom wouldn't do such a thing."

Athena ignored Seth's reaction.

She continued, "After half a month, the medical student still refused to give in. His parents and fiancée had lost contact with him for half a month, so they came to your mother. After seeing the medical student's fiancée, your mother was as crazy as your sister now. She almost killed his fiancée several times in front of the medical student. In the end, in order to protect his beloved fiancée and parents, he finally compromised and broke up with his fiancée. His parents disagreed, and he severed ties with them on the spot."

Seth petrified.

Every moment he had spent with his father flashed across his mind.

He was always confused about it when he was a child.

Why did other children have grandparents, but he didn't?

If what Athena said was true, he would finally know the answer.

"That woman was not worthy of my husband at all!" At this moment, Bertha suddenly roared, "She was a weak woman. What help could she give my husband? I was different. I could help him get everything he wanted!"

"Everything he wanted?" Athena sneered, "What he wanted were his family and his beloved fiancée. Would you give them to him?"

"He loved me!!" Bertha stared at Athena as if she wanted to strangle Athena with her eyes for slandering her affectionate relationship with her husband in the past.

"If he loved you, why did he make up his mind to leave a year ago?" Athena asked her with a sneer, "But he was unlucky. He was discovered by your subordinate when he got on the wharf. During the chase, he was killed by a truck delivering goods to the wharf."

Zora came back to her senses a little.

Hearing this, she froze all over and looked sideways at Bertha. "Mom, is what she said true? Was Dad killed by a truck at the wharf?" They lived on the island.

But Zora and Seth's father had always insisted on sending them to study outside the island.

When the accident happened, Zora had just left for an overseas school.

Seth gave up his studies but didn't want to go back to the island, so he kept boxing to make money without telling his family.

Upon receiving the news of his father's death, he came back.

However, his father had been cremated.

Though Seth and Zora complained about their mother, they did not suspect anything strange about their father's death. Because in their view, their parents had always been very loving.
