My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1452
Chapter 1452 Send Back the Person
While they were speaking, it wasn't just Athena who had arrived.
Several dune buggies arrived one after another.
And not only that, but people from the patrol post were also coming this way.
Bertha and Seth also knew that things had gone awry.
If Athena had just left something behind here, there wouldn't be such a big commotion.
"Will you hand him over yourselves, or shall I send someone to find him?" Athena looked at their expressions, convinced that there was definitely a secret here.
Could Byron really be here? Her throat went dry.
Before Bertha and Seth could speak, Athena waved her hand, and Dorian and the others immediately went toward the inn.
"What are you doing?" Several burly men who were helping Bertha move blocked the doorway menacingly. "Bertha, what's going on?"
Bertha had quickly regained her composure.
She waved her hand and looked up at Athena. "It's nothing. Mrs. Crawford probably left something important here, so let her go in and look." The burly men frowned and stepped aside. Athena's people went into the inn.
But after a thorough search, Dorian came out with big strides. "Mrs. Crawford, we didn't find him."
At this point, Stacey and Marsh also arrived.
Seeing these two, Seth and Bertha understood why Athena had returned.
"Where's Zora?" Athena fixed her gaze on Seth, her tone icy.
A terrifying aura enveloped the scene.
"Zora has already left the island. Her husband wasn't feeling well, and he had a sudden illness in the evening, so she took him to see a doctor," Bertha answered.
The next moment, Athena grabbed onto Bertha's collar with both hands. "Bertha, do you think I'm so easily fooled? I'll give you one chance, hand over Byron! If I don't see Byron within half an hour, not one of your family will leave this island alive!"
The burly men were ready to pounce.
Dorian didn't waste time. Before they could say anything, he had already moved forward and launched a few fierce kicks.
Bertha's face gradually turned pale.
Seth was struggling hard. He took a step forward, his face stern as he looked at Athena. "Miss Newton, please, don't do this. Let go of my mother!"
Bertha sneered, "I don't know where Byron is, Mrs. Crawford. Have you become delusional? Seth is a skilled doctor. Should I have him take a look at you?" Athena stared at her and then looked at the luggage on the ground.
Suddenly, something struck her.
The boat... There was only one boat at the docks now!
"Go to the docks!" Athena roughly pushed Bertha aside and ran towards the dune buggy.
Marsh and Stacey stood helplessly in a corner.
Bertha glared at them with resentment.
Marsh instinctively shielded his wife, preventing Bertha from seeing her.
Seth helped his mother.
But only Seth and Bertha could hear Bertha's voice. "Have Zora sail the boat!"
Seth hadn't even taken out his phone...
Zora was already calling him.
Mike stayed where he was. When he saw Seth's phone ringing, he walked up...
He snatched the phone directly.
"What are you doing!" Bertha exclaimed.
The people behind Mike immediately moved forward menacingly. "Stand there. Don't move!"
At this moment, Mike had already answered the call.
Before he could speak, he heard Zora's voice on the other end, low and tense. "Seth, something is not right at the docks. All the lights are on..."
"The docks have been controlled. No ships are allowed to leave. Bertha and Seth are in our hands now," Mike said sharply, "I suggest you send back the people you shouldn't take away. Otherwise, if my boss gets angry, they will be dead the next time you see them!"
