Chapter 1425 Argument

All the people who were not local islanders left one after another.

A middle-aged man cursed, "We take the money and finally move away. What the hell are we doing these past few months?"

"That's unacceptable. Marsh and some people moved away half a year ago. They lived in good houses. Marsh used the compensation money to open a snack store in Sinclair City and run the business well! My mom makes better snacks than Marsh's mom. We would do the business better if we had moved away at that time."

"It's all the fault of those who lie to us!"

Everyone turned their target to Zora and her family.

"What we want to fight with Imbe Group has never been money, but to stay!" Zora replied, "You can't blame anyone because you are greedy."

The man who was scolded for his greediness immediately got angry. He slapped the table hard and pointed at Zora. "Damn girl, do you dare to say it again? We didn't go to your house and beat up your fiancé from nowhere last night for your father's sake. How dare you criticize me like that?"

"That's right. Didn't he say before that he would make Imbe Group compromise with us and let us stay? Now your family is the first one to leave!"

An islander who didn't want money but wanted to stay slapped the table and cursed angrily.

"If you don't want to leave, you don't have to sign!" Seth looked at the man who spoke. "We were the ones who first fought for it. What have you done except for following us? Now that we can't win, do you want to blame us for that?"

"Never mind..."

Bertha looked a little tired in the past two days. Her hair began to become gray.

She waved her hands tiredly and helplessly. "Let's go back and pack up our things. Prepare to leave."

Seth and Zora didn't want to make their mother sad. They didn't continue the argument.

Standing up and helping their mother, they ignored the angry eyes of everyone and left the activity center.

"We can't let them go like this." The man who Zora said to be greedy said to the crowd, "Shouldn't they compensate us for our losses in the past few months?"

"That's a good idea. I've heard that they got more money than us. There are not many members in their family, but their hotel is relatively large," Niya's grandmother murmured.

"The land occupied by their family was originally public. Zora's father saved the island owner. Regardless of everyone's objections, the owner rented such great land to Zora's father at a very low price. Most tourists to the island went to their hotel all these years. They have always earned more than us, and now they get more compensation than us. This is not fair!"

"Then let's just set a price and go directly to Bertha's house. Let's end this matter before we move out!" An older man made a decision.

"We can't ask for too much. Fifty thousand dollars for each family. How about that?"

"It's a good price."

"Good idea."

In this way, the islanders discussed and decided how much they should ask for without any objections.

Something happened when they just talked.

Islanders received special compensation funds from Imbe Group one after another.

Everyone was happy to see the number of the money, and those who didn't want to leave also changed their minds.

"Let me check. According to the policy here, the amount of compensation should be..." Somebody looked through the contract and checked it. Then he said with excitement and joy, "The money we get now is almost three times more than what we should get."

"Mr. Carson also told us about this. He said that when the contract was taken to Imbe Group, Mr. Crawford thought the compensation was too little. He was afraid that we would not be able to make a living with so little money after we left the island, so he gave us more."

It was true.
