Chapter 1391 Killing Evokes Guilt

Those who were already wavering showed some changes in their expressions after hearing Zora's words.

But it didn't take long for this change to last.

However, before these changes could last long, Logan looked panicked and asked, "Miss Welding, why are you crying all of a sudden? We are all here to protect the coral. Don't you think the doubts I raised are worth questioning? If you have an explanation, explain it clearly. Why cry? Are you trying to emotionally manipulate us, using our desire to protect the coral to resist the businessmen, yet not allowing us to raise reasonable doubts? You're being too domineering, aren't you?"

Logan's words were shocking.

That's right. They came here to save the Coral Sea, so what's wrong with questioning things?

The people who were already wavering looked at Zora with guarded eyes.

Then, Logan took a step back, asking cautiously, "Miss Welding, are you trying to use the coral to manipulate us, the caring individuals, through deluding tactics?"

Zora immediately denied, "Don't sow discord here!"

Logan had no intention of continuing the conversation with her.

He looked at the others and said, "Friends, I think since we are here to protect the coral, we should keep our distance from the islanders who have conflicts of interest with the businessmen on the island! Otherwise, our kindness might be exploited for no reason. I've heard that the president's wife from Imbe Group is not only beautiful but also more capable and resourceful than the president. If we are completely used by others, and they obtain their ideal benefits while the president's wife turns against us, we'll be in trouble. Who will protect us then?"

Logan's words were like an awakening.

"Today, when I was online, I saw media reports that Imbe Group offered exorbitant compensation to the indigenous people stranded on the island..." a man hesitated and spoke up. "My family also saw it. My father is a lawyer, and he advised us to be cautious," another girl whispered.

"We were originally here to protect the coral. Let's just focus on that. We shouldn't get involved in additional matters!" Logan took the opportunity to say, "I heard that someone among you even injured one of Imbe Group's vice presidents. Is that true?"

The old man who hit Liam had a change in his expression and explained, "That was just an accident. The thing in my hand slipped away..."

Logan interrupted him, saying, "You really have a senior moment. If they really decide to hold you accountable later on, the legal team of the tycoon would have plenty of ways to prove your guilt. Plus, if there's any footage of the incident, it would further solidify the charges against you. By then, considering your old age, you came here with good intentions to protect the coral, but instead, you'll end up facing lawsuits, imprisonment, and financial losses. It's not worth it!"

Before Logan arrived, he had done some research.

Most of the people who came here to protest and hold banners were social media influencers seeking attention or mindless extreme environmentalists.

In short, they lacked critical thinking.

Coming here and getting brainwashed by the indigenous people, they believed they were doing the righteous thing without anyone analyzing the risks and benefits for them.

It's human nature to seek safety and avoid harm.

Now, Logan's words startled them awake.

Thinking back, under Zora's leadership, they had been live streaming their resistance against various individuals from Imbe Investment Group.

When the marine botanist arrived, they had even stopped their activities.

However, Zora kept urging them to drive away these environmentally destructive businessmen from the island.

But now, upon reflection, they hadn't done any harm to the coral sea.

Why should they be driven away?
