Chapter 1357 A Gentleman's Agreement

Athena laughed.

"So you're quite fair, huh? Don't let Aiden hear that. He used to be the best, but now we have Paul too. Aiden will get jealous!"

"This is a little secret between best friends!" Mia sniffled and proudly said, "The previous incident with Mr. Brian Hansen and Evie was a small secret between me and Evie. I never told anyone!" That was Evie and Brian's secret affair now exposed.

"I heard that you and Aron also had a little secret?" Athena asked.

Mia nodded. "But Aron isn't considered my best friend. It's more like... a gentleman's agreement!"

"Mia knows about 'gentleman's agreement'?" Athena beamed with joy.

"I know much more than Mommy thinks!" Mia said, gently stroking Athena's cheek. "Mommy is the best Mommy, and Mommy's child will be the best child."

Athena's heart had broken into pieces. On this night, Mia carefully patched them up.

The next day, the last search and rescue team searching for Byron outside sent a message.

It showed that the search had ultimately failed.

All the islands had been visited, and every possible place had been searched.

No bodies, not even any washed-up clothes, were found.

There was no news of anyone finding a survivor and bringing him home.

They even investigated the nearby merchant ships that had been around during that time, one by one.

Athena finished answering the phone.

She sat in the cloakroom for half an hour. Her mind was empty.

Her heart felt like it was being torn apart.

But when she changed her clothes and went downstairs, Athena once again regained her composure, appearing as a confident and strong woman. Evie had started experiencing morning sickness.

It was particularly severe this morning.

She couldn't even sleep and was sitting in the living room, looking tired and eating grapes.

"Athena..."

When she saw Athena, she immediately extended her hands with a pitiful expression.

Athena approached, and Evie hugged her waist, crying, "I'm throwing up so much that it's like puking my guts out!"

"If it's really bad, we should go to the hospital and get it checked," Athena said seriously.

"I wanted to take her last night, but she didn't want to go," Aron helplessly interjected, "Athena, please talk with her."

"Why don't you want to go to the hospital?" Athena patted Evie's head.

"Just thinking about the smell of disinfectant in the hospital makes me want to throw up even more," Evie murmured, "It's alright. I've seen online that others have worse morning sickness than me. I'm not that precious. It'll probably get better after a few days!"

Athena pondered for a moment.

When they went to have breakfast, she contacted Stella Medical's obstetrics doctors to confirm they had special disinfection procedures in place, but there was no smell of disinfectant in the examination rooms.

She knew Evie would definitely try to wriggle out of going.

Therefore, when Mia appeared swaying and barefoot and hugging a bear doll, Athena stepped forward to support her.

"Mia, Mommy wants to assign you a task!" Athena squatted down, looking at Mia with a resolute expression.

Mia loved receiving tasks from Athena. Hearing Athena's words, her eyes instantly lighted up.

She nodded vigorously. "What? What? What?"

"Evie is pregnant now. She is acting like a little child, and she doesn't want to go to the hospital," Athena whispered.

Mia was suddenly nervous. "Is my little sister alright?"

Athena quickly nodded her head. "No, little sister is fine. It's just that Evie is throwing up a lot, and both Aron and I are worried. We want Evie to go to the hospital and get a check."
