Chapter 1347 Adding Fuel to the Fire

"It's not in a hurry," Athena said with a smile.

Carl smiled as he apologized.

There was a vague premonition in his heart.

"Mr. Maxwell, can I start to settle accounts now as a major shareholder?" Athena stared at him, enunciating each word carefully.

Cold sweat immediately formed on Carl's forehead, and he struggled to speak, "First, I would like to self-reflect. I made a few wrong decisions in the past year that caused losses to the company. But I assure you that this year, I will ensure significant growth in the department's performance!"

"Does anyone know how much money was lost due to Mr. Maxwell's wrong decisions, which was mentioned casually by him earlier?" Athena didn't look at Carl anymore, and her gaze swept over the crowd. No one dared to speak.

Athena didn't mind it either and calmly uttered, "600 million dollars."

In the conference room, the expressions on some people's faces gradually became more unpleasant.

"Although this figure might not be significant in terms of Imbe Group's annual profits, in other small and medium-sized enterprises, 600 million dollars is already enough for a company to make lots of profits and to suffer a complete loss." Athena looked at Carl again. "Mr. Maxwell, which one do you belong to?"

She paused.

"Did you end up in the category of suffering a complete loss with nothing left or the category of making lots of profits?"

Carl froze. "Mrs. Crawford, I don't understand what you mean."

"Don't understand? Then let me show you something straightforward to understand."

Scarlett immediately projected some documents on the screen when she heard what Athena said.

When Carl looked at them, his expression changed drastically.

"It may seem that the company's losses were due to your decision-making mistakes, but in reality, you were operating in shadows. You used special routes to launder all the lost money and transferred them into the account of your illegitimate child raised overseas." Athena's slender fingertips tapped on the table lightly as she spoke coldly.

"This is fake. Someone is framing me!!" Carl stood up.

Athena raised her eyelids, and the tapping on the table ceased. "Really? Isn't the boy who was found by my bodyguard in Veridonia Country your illegitimate child?"

The blood on Carl's body seemed to freeze in an instant.

"You... what did you do?" Carl's voice trembled violently.

"Mr. Maxwell, why are you nervous? I'm a lawful businessman. I just checked my husband's business accounts, identified discrepancies, and investigated where the lost money has gone are normal processes." Athena shrugged. "Are you afraid I might get angry and chop off that child in rage?"

Carl's face turned pale.

The way in which Athena said this made it sound like she meant to do this.

Donne was a confused person.

Upon seeing this, his behavior was like adding fuel to the fire.

"Mrs. Crawford, you can't drag his family into this. What are you going to do by kidnapping that child?"

"Shut up!" Carl felt like he wanted to strangle Donne to death.

Donne shrank his neck.

He slowly realized he might have said something wrong.

"Mrs. Crawford, could we speak privately for a moment?" Carl's face was stiff.

He felt too humiliated to beg Athena before so many shareholders.

Earlier, he had confidently declared that Athena would probably leave the company in tears today.

Now, he felt that the person who would leave the company in tears might be himself.
