Chapter 1287 Who Is It?

Liam followed Byron out of the prison.

"I didn't expect that even Ms. Bates' death would..." Liam continued in a gloomy tone, "But when Ms. Bates came back, Heather had already been kicked out of Mailand. How could she have crossed paths with Miss Ross?"

A cold glint flashed in Byron's eyes.

"Heather had known Freya long before she got engaged to me. Freya also secretly instigated her to attack Thea later on," Byron explained in a deep voice.

"Oh gosh!" Liam exclaimed in surprise.

"Okay, you can go back and rest too... Be careful when you're out and about lately. I'll send a few bodyguards to you," Byron said in a deep voice.

Liam assented before asking, "How about Miss Newton?"

"I'll inform her when I go back," Byron replied in a deep voice.

"Okay."

Liam then left in the rain.

Byron glanced at the dark sky.

He wondered, "Who would go to such lengths to avenge Heather? Her father? Or is it her mother? Or could it be her siblings?"

Logically speaking, these people would not have dared to provoke him for the sake of Heather.

Six years ago, he and the Ross family could compete on a level playing field, but now, most of the economic lifeline of the Ross family was under the control of Byron's Imbe Group. The Ross family had already lost the ability to challenge Byron.

If Freya's death was a covert revenge, the deaths of Chad and Wayde would be blatant provocations.

Byron thought, "Would the members of the Ross family really dare to do that? If it's not the Ross family, who will it be? Could it be the nobles who used to have an ambiguous relationship with Heather?" Byron's face was extremely gloomy.

No matter who the culprit was, he would definitely pull out all the mice in the gutter, and trample them to death one by one.

He had to take revenge and comfort the souls of Chad's family and Wayde's family.

Before Byron went home, he made a trip to the apartment where he took a shower and changed out of his clothes. He then left for Lakin.

The elevator went straight to the master bedroom. Only after entering the room did Byron realize that Athena was not in.

He subconsciously panicked.

Then, he hurried to the floor where the children's rooms were.

Upon opening the door of Mia's bedroom, he found Athena curled up on her bed, with her back to him.

He heaved a huge sigh of relief.

He went forward and gently picked her up in his arms.

Being a light sleeper, Athena woke up immediately.

Seeing that it was Byron, the look of wariness in her eyes faded, and she slowly relaxed while lying in Byron's arms. She murmured, "Have you dealt with it?" "Yes," Byron replied.

He carried Athena back to the master bedroom.

Byron put Athena on the bed while Athena held onto his waist. She tugged at the collar of his shirt with one hand and asked, "Why did you change your outfit? These are clothes for spring. Did you go back to the apartment?"

"Well, I was afraid that I would smell bad, so I went there for a shower and a change of clothes before coming home," Byron explained obediently.

"Aren't you tired from running around like this? Even if you smelled horrible, I wouldn't stop you from coming in," Athena remarked, feeling a little helpless.

Byron laughed.

"Don't ruin my reputation. I don't want others saying that Byron's wife is a mean woman who won't even let her husband take a shower at home," Athena continued. Byron smiled even more happily.

"Wouldn't that be great? Everyone is afraid of me. If they know that I'm afraid of you, they won't dare to bully you!" Byron said while leaning forward to kiss Athena. "Honey, shall we let Ottilie move in with us?" Byron suddenly said after kissing her a few times.
