Chapter 1285 Just Luck!

"Okay, go to sleep quickly."

After hanging up the phone, Athena was still a little uneasy.

Instead of going back to her room, she turned around and entered Mia's room, where she lay down beside Mia.

Mia woke up in a daze.

"Mommy..."

"Sweetie, I'll be sleeping with you tonight."

Mia nodded and snuggled up in Athena's arms. Shortly after, she fell asleep.

After falling asleep, Mia started muttering.

"Paul, I've done this question eight times, and I don't want to do it again. I really don't want to do it anymore..."

Athena almost burst into laughter.

The car traveled for over two hours on the highway.

Byron finally arrived at the prison where Collier was held.

Collier had already been brought out of his cell and was waiting for Byron.

The heavy door was pushed open, and Byron stepped in.

Collier looked up at Byron and remarked, "I was wondering who came to see me. Turns out it's you, Byron."

His tone was full of derision.

A trace of disgust flashed in Byron's eyes.

He sat down across from Collier.

"Why? Are you getting restless and starting to love my sister again now that she has died and you can never have her? Why are you here in the wee hours of the night to take revenge on me, your old friend, instead of fooling around with your wife in bed?"

Collier knew exactly how to provoke Byron.

Martin took a step forward and kicked Collier's waist before hollering, "If you talk nonsense again, I will smash your stinking mouth!"

Collier covered his waist, seething in pain, but still smiling.

However, he stopped laughing the next second.

Byron tossed a piece of A4-sized paper at him.

Collier took a look, and the smile on his face slowly stiffened. He was visibly flustered.

"What are you doing? Don't mess with the innocent! Let me tell you, Byron Crawford, if you dare to mess with them, I won't let you off even if I die. I'll haunt you after my death!"

"I've lost count of the number of people who have said those words to me. Now, they're all dead, but I haven't been haunted by a single ghost yet," Byron said sneeringly.

The content on the A4-sized paper was not a big deal, actually.

Before Collier turned himself in, he uploaded an edited video of the entire process of Freya's murder on a paid-subscription platform. The account for receiving the revenue from the video was printed on the piece of paper Byron took out.

The account belonged to the parents of Collier's girlfriend, who had died tragically.

The price set by Collier was high, and there were quite a few people who had seen the video. Hence, the withdrawal amount in the first month had already exceeded a million dollars.

"What on earth are you trying to do!? Are you trying to avenge Freya? What's the point of doing that, Byron? Have you forgotten what she did to you?" Collier barked with bloodshot eyes. Collier's girlfriend was the only child, and her parents had her at a relatively advanced age. Her parents' retirement became a problem after she died.

Hence, Collier came up with the idea of making paid videos.

Videos have become increasingly popular as a way to earn money online in recent years.

However, Collier never thought that the information, which was supposedly encrypted as promised by the website, would eventually fall into the hands of Byron.

"Collier, how did you survive?" Byron asked, ignoring Collier's yelling.

Collier froze and exclaimed, "I just got lucky!"

Byron stared at him with his eyes as sharp as a falcon's while saying, "Just got lucky? Your sister hired the best assassin organization in the world. You couldn't have survived just relying on luck." Collier frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"Didn't anyone save you?" Byron asked.
