My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1195
Chapter 1195 I Want to Live Alone
"How have you been these days?" Athena asked gently.
Paul nodded. "Yes."
"I've dealt with those people for you." Athena took out the IOU, "Here, this is for you."
Paul hesitated for a moment before reaching out to take it.
With the cold weather, chilblains had formed on his hands, which looked red and swollen.
Athena's eyes trembled slightly.
She felt sorry for him.
"Thank you." Paul looked at the content of the IOU and muttered.
He was too young back then.
He had no idea how much money his parents had left.
And now, he finally knew his parents had left him 280 thousand dollars.
"Tomorrow, You can go back to school and continue studying. Nobody will bother you or bully you anymore." Athena paused for a moment and carefully chose her words. "Paul, I really like you. Do you want to live with me?"
Paul was slightly taken aback.
He looked up at Athena, furrowing his brows with a mix of shock, confusion, and a hint of panic.
"I also have a son, Mia's twin brother. He's just like you, very interested in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. You two can definitely become good friends," Athena continued.
"Is he Aiden?" Paul asked.
"Yes, have you seen him before?" Athena asked.
Paul shook his head and said, "He just arrived at school and solved a math problem that I couldn't figure out."
Athena didn't shy away from praising Aiden either. "Mm, he's good at math. In the future, you two can communicate and exchange ideas to improve each other."
A gentle new mother.
A prosperous new home.
Everything seemed so tempting to Paul.
But...
"Thank you for your kindness, Mrs. Crawford. I saved Mia, and you helped me out of my predicament. We are now even." Paul lowered his eyelids. "You can go back." This result was actually within Athena's expectations.
Paul had a strong sense of independence.
So Athena knew he would not be willing to rely on others.
"I don't want to force you." Athena remained gentle. "You have my phone number. If you change your mind or need any help in the future, feel free to contact me."
Paul nodded.
Athena glanced at the smoky and chaotic restaurant, where several burly men were vigilantly staring at her.
It seemed that Paul saw through her concern.
"I will move back to my own house."
"Okay," Athena replied, "Then I'll leave."
Paul nodded again.
Athena didn't linger and left straight away.
"You idiot, are you stupid?" As soon as Athena left, the tattooed strong man came out. "She's from a wealthy family! There are so many people who can never establish connections with them for a lifetime. She obviously wants to adopt you. Why did you reject her?"
"The man's words were right that Paul was young."
Even if his ill-disposed uncle and aunt had left, living alone was harder for him compared to living in a big house with someone to take care of him.
Paul lowered his eyelids.
He didn't say anything.
He calmly packed his school bag and prepared to go home.
He had considered it carefully.
Much more than the adults did.
He knew Athena had her own child, but it was because she pitied him that she wanted to take him home.
It was as same as the mentality of people who met poor stray cats and dogs on the side of the road and wanted to take them home to take care of them.
But even as a lonely person, he didn't want to be treated as a stray cat or dog.
Or became a tool to accompany Mia and Aiden as they grew up.
Cats, dogs, and tools were all easily abandoned when their owners no longer liked them.
He hated being abandoned.
So he didn't want to choose that path from the beginning.
