Chapter 1193 Writing an IOU

These days, the more Athena learned about the situation in Paul's family, the more outraged she became.

She could not imagine that Alison and Josh could be so malicious!

"Yes, yes, I'm not human. I was wrong. I really was! Mrs. Crawford, you're also a mother. My in-laws are old and confused. They can't take care of the child. Please give me another chance, and I promise to turn over a new leaf!" Alison knelt on the ground, about to kowtow to Athena.

Mike acted swiftly.

He grabbed her collar, stopping her.

"Are you trying to make a fuss to make others think that Mrs. Crawford is bullying you with this act?" Mike asked with a fierce look.

"No, no!" The woman hurriedly denied.

Athena stood up and walked in front of her, looking down at her. "I don't want to be so extreme, but Paul is the benefactor of my entire family. I have to plan for him more."

Alison looked at Athena.

She trembled all over.

"I promise I will never plot against Paul again!" Alison cried. "After I go out, I will immediately take my kids back to my hometown and never come to Girard City again!"

"You better keep your promise." Athena slightly bent over. "I will have someone keeping an eye on you. As long as you dare to find Paul or appear in Girard City, or even the surrounding cities, it won't be as easy as just going to jail."

Alison shivered violently.

"I understand! I understand!" She nodded repeatedly.

The biggest regret of Alison's life now was that on that morning, she had listened to the words of that obnoxious girl and went to confront the woman in front of the school gate.

If she hadn't gone...

They would still be living in the house in the city center, with plenty of savings!

"How much money did you extort from Paul's mother?" Athena asked.

Alison froze.

Clearly, she didn't expect that Alison, a rich person, would care about such a trivial amount of money.

"Not... not much."

"You still don't understand the situation now? If I didn't have a clue, would I be asking you?" Athena's voice suddenly turned cold and severe.

"More than twenty-eight..."

Athena's eyes were filled with contempt.

"Adding up what you've spent, along with the death benefits from Paul's parents, you need to repay Paul 520 thousand dollars."

"Oh my god, where would I get so much money? Mrs. Crawford, I've already spent all that money!" Alison exclaimed in shock.

"When you forced Paul to repay the money, did you ever consider that he was just a child and couldn't possibly have that much money?" Athena asked coldly. Alison cried and was about collapse.

Athena looked at her indifferently.

She thought Alison couldn't come up with 520 thousand dollars, but she could manage one or two hundred thousand dollars.

Athena knew that if she pushed Alison too hard, it would backfire.

What Athena wanted was for these people to never dare to appear near Paul again.

"According to your rules, write an IOU." Athena gestured to Martin. Martin swiftly took out a notebook and a pen from his suit pocket and handed it to Alison with a fierce look. Alison's hand trembled violently.

She didn't want to write an IOU. She knew that with this piece of paper, Paul could come knocking on her at any time, demanding money!

She looked at Athena.

Alison knew she had no choice now.

Trembling, she wrote the IOU.

Martin had brought along an ink pad and had her pressed her fingerprint on it.

Athena took it over and took a look.

Her gaze then fell on Josh, lying on the ground like a dead dog.

"You can go now, but your husband has committed murder. He won't be able to leave with you," Athena said coldly.
