My Ex-husband Begs Me Back -
Chapter 819 Spoiling Me
Chapter 819 Spoiling Me
Kian was a bit hesitant and said, "Miss Nores, Mr. Simpson's itinerary is confidential information within the company. I'm sorry but I cannot disclose it to you."
Miss Nores was not angry and still spoke gently: “I just wanted to invite Mr. Simpson for dinner, and besides, isn't Mr. Simpson interested in a piece of land held by Nores Group? As long as Mr. Simpson is willing, our cooperation can be easily arranged.”
Kian remained silent without speaking, and Camille at the door also instinctively frowned, then raised her hand to knock on the door and pushed it open to walk in.
In the office, Kian stood respectfully on the sofa beside him. On the sofa sat a woman in sexy clothes. Her red lips were flaming, and her clothes were luxuriously tailored. When she saw Camille, she subconsciously hooked her lips and showed a meaningful smile.
Kian saw Camille and immediately walked towards her, saying "Mrs. Simpson, why did you suddenly come over? Mr. Simpson is in a meeting, please rest for a while."
Kian led Camille inside and she simply nodded her head, looking towards the woman sitting on the couch. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt a strong sense of aggression emanating from the woman, as if it was directed towards her.
Out of politeness, Camille nodded to her, but she didn't respond, with a faint smile on her face, then she got up and looked at Kian: "Kian, tell Mr. Simpson for me, as long as he wants, tell me anytime. For a man like Mr. Simpson, it is better to have a partner who is worthy of him and can help him.
She didn't even care about Camille. With a meaningful smile on her lips, she said these words and then left the office with her head held high.
After she walked out, Camille turned her gaze back to Kian.
Kian quickly said, "Mrs. Simpson, she is Alicia Nores, the only daughter of the Nores Group. She can be a bit spoiled, so please don't take her words to heart. Mr. Simpson doesn't want anything to do with her. She just met him during a bidding competition in Dane City and has been bothering him ever since."
Camille shook her head and didn't say anything.
Kian also felt slightly relieved upon seeing this and said, "Mrs. Simpson, Mr. Simpson's meeting will end in about half an hour. Please have some fruit first.”
Kian personally brought in the fruits and then poured tea for Camille. After putting it down, he was ready to go out.
Camille stopped him at this point and asked, "Kian, has Ayan started dealing with the people who kidnapped me?"
Kian nodded, "Mrs. Simpson, don't worry, Mr. Simpson is already handling it."
"Can you tell me how he's handling it?" Camille asked.
Kian hesitated for a moment, "Mrs. Simpson, why do you suddenly want to know? Mr. Simpson will take care of it and there's no need for you to worry."
“I'm just curious,” Camille stared at Kian with a hint of warmth in her heart that she couldn't quite describe.
Before Kian could answer, Camille asked again, "Will this cause any trouble for him?"
If Kian was pretending to be clueless before, he couldn't keep up the act now because Camille clearly knew what was going on.
Kian answered truthfully, “Don't worry Mrs. Simpson. There won't be any trouble. They just like to play around and it has nothing to do with Mr. Simpson or anyone else here."
“That's good," Camille replied calmly before instructing Kian not to tell Ayan that she knew about it, because she didn't want him worrying unnecessarily.
Kian nodded and left the office while Camille sat alone on the couch staring silently at where Alicia had been sitting earlier, but her thoughts were elsewhere.
After a while, she sighed silently and stopped thinking about it.
Half an hour is not long, nor is it short.
Camille was actually a little tired after sitting for a long time, so she just got up and walked around. The office is also very spacious. She planned to find a place to hide and give Ayan a surprise.
She walked around to Ayan's desk, which was big enough to hide her. Thinking that Ayan couldn't see her face when she came in, she couldn't help but smile.
But before she had time to squat down, her eyes accidentally glanced at the documents on the desk, which said the Norman Group acquisition documents.
Camille frowned subconsciously, reached out to pick up the document and only read the first page, because it was an internal matter of the Simpson Group, and she couldn't read more.
It's just that Camille felt a little nervous. Although Norman Group can't compare with the huge industrial chain and reputation of Simpson Group, it is also an old company in Campole, so if you want to acquire this old company, you will definitely pay a lot of cost.
Of course, if Norman Group was like Armstrong Corp before, it wouldn't require too much effort. However, now, some of the operations at Norman Group are thriving and there haven't been any crises. If Ayan was to acquire Norman Group at this time, it definitely wouldn't be a simple task.
Camille knew that Ayan was doing this for her sake. This made her inner conflict deepen and her emotions worsen.
Camille tightly pursed her lips and her expression became extremely unpleasant. She naturally didn't have the mood to play hide-and-seek with Ayan anymore.
She sat motionless in the office chair staring off into space until the door opened once again.
Ayan walked in wearing a white dress shirt after just finishing a meeting. His image at work had always been sharp and indifferent, but when facing Camille, he naturally revealed his most gentle side.
He walked towards Camille and casually put down the files he was holding before asking with concern: "What's wrong?"
Camille lightly shook her head with a faint smile on her lips as she said: “You're done with your meeting?"
Ayan nodded then stopped in front of Camille while leaning against the edge of the desk and facing towards her, without taking his eyes off of hers as he asked softly: "What happened?"
Camille met his gaze then asked quietly: "I just saw the acquisition documents for Norman Group but I didn't mean to look."
"I's okay; it's not that big of a deal, so you can look if you want to. There isn't anything you can't see." His voice was gentle as he picked up an acquisition chart from on top of the desk flipping through it before saying: "So now things are like this because I want to acquire Norman Group?"
Camille didn't deny it; instead she nodded slightly then asked him softly: "So do you really want to acquire Norman Group? Is it because of me?"
"Uh-huh, partly because of you but not entirely so," Ayan replied calmly while putting down the chart back onto its original spot on top of desk before continuing seriously:"Austin is too annoying! This kind unnecessary annoyance is like flies buzzing around my ears which I don't want tolerate anymore, so we must completely resolve this issue once and for all. So you don't need to feel any pressure, after all, the acquisition of Norman Group is also beneficial for my company. Norman Group's steel design is among the best in the industry, and coupled with their recent foray into foreign trade cooperation, this is a springboard for Simpson Group. Having all resources in our own hands will also be better for Simpson Group's future development. This is a win-win solution and it suits us very well."
Ayan patiently and thoroughly explained to Camille. He didn't want to burden or stress her in any way. Every sentence was aimed at easing the pressure on Camille's mind.
Although it started because of her, it's not entirely for her. She's just a catalyst. So don't overthink it. For Simpson Group, acquiring Norman Group is only beneficial.
But Camille still had some doubts in her heart. She looked at Ayan and asked softly, "Are you telling the truth? You're not just trying to placate me, right?"
