Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1316
King strolled next door into the grand study, settling into a leather armchair surrounded by shelves brimming with classic American and British literature. In no time, his advisors gathered around him.
Their main concerns were his need to settle down and marry, along with some recent developments in Saudi Arabia. Having orchestrated a coup in Saudi Arabia earlier, King had already planted his loyalists within the royal family, ensuring no internal pressure on him. Yet,
some influential Saudi families were still causing a stir.
"I'm still young. Let's revisit this later. Right now, I'm in the process of courting her. We've been through a lot together and are still building our relationship," he said, his tone casual yet firm, his sharp gaze meeting each advisor's eyes.
"As for those women downstairs, I won't send them away. It's a way to appease those families," he added.
Sending them away would only stir up trouble, so it was better to keep them around for now, even though he had no plans to entertain them. His words eased the tension in the room, and the advisors dropped the topic, only requesting that he marries at least ten women within two years to ensure a line of heirs for the kingdom.
Brielle could faintly hear the commotion from next door but didn't bother to listen closely, drifting off to sleep instead.
When she woke up, it was already dusk. A dining table was set up by the bedroom window, suggesting King had no plans to dine downstairs, sparing her the discomfort of encountering the women below. Brielle's lips curved into a small smile before she headed to the bathroom for a quick shower.
Exiting the bathroom, she heard
King on the phone, a common occurrence since their arrival in Saudi Arabia. He was issuing commands about the old king's next moves following a grave
Brielle wrapped her arms around his
desecration. Standing behind elbet
waist, resting her head against his back. He acknowledged her with a gentle pat on her hands before continuing his instructions.
After the call, King pressed Brielle against the wall for a long, passionate kiss before releasing her. "Are you hungry?" he asked, eyeing the delicious spread on the table with a hint of desire, knowing full well that a refusal might lead to more intimate activities. Brielle, amused yet embarrassed by her growling stomach, quickly changed the subject.
"Where's that person hiding?" she asked.
Brielle finished her meal, contemplating a walk in the beautiful garden but quickly dismissing the idea at the thought of the women waiting downstairs. King had to attend to state affairs, moving his desk into the bedroom to stay close. Brielle found comfort in his proximity, deciding not to dwell on anything else.
"We're still searching, but there's no need for you to worry," he reassured her, his tone suggesting he had everything under control.
Her life in Saudi had been confined
to this room for three days, with meals delivered and bedroom activities substituting for walks. Surprisingly, she had gained a few pounds. During her unconscious state, King had the contraceptive implant removed, fearing it might cause discomfort if left inside. Though Brielle's health issues made pregnancy difficult, King took extra precautions each time, not wanting to risk her well-being. Despite living carefree these days, Brielle sensed King's urgency whenever they were alone, as if cherishing every moment with fervor.
