Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1314
King watched the scene with a glint of amusement in his eyes. Brielle, feeling down, straightened up and followed him into the car, heading to the airport. Ricardo was with them, but he wasn't his usual sunny self. His face was cold and hard the whole time. Brielle couldn't shake the images she had seen. That so-called professor was tormenting Ricardo, sending daily pictures of his sister's body, even threatening to desecrate her remains. Ricardo was barely holding it together, his fingers almost getting sliced by his dagger several times.
Once on the plane, King's expression turned serious. He stared out the window with a look that could kill, plotting revenge.
Brielle felt completely out of her element. Just thinking about it made her whole body ache. She leaned on King for support, not knowing what else to do.
King noticed her trembling and recalled what the psychiatrist had said. Brielle had been through hallucinations and her mental state was fragile. She shouldn't be exposed to things beyond her understanding. Seeing her pale face, he gently pressed her temples. "Brielle, promise me you won't think about anything. Just stay by my side, that's all you need to do. Just follow me," he said softly.
The pain made her vision blur, but his voice calmed her. King held her close, gently patting her back.
"Don't worry, we'll be back soon. Just think of this as a trip to Saudi Arabia," he reassured her.
Feeling his comforting hand on her back, the pain in Brielle's head eased. She nestled into his embrace, speaking softly, "Tell me about Saudi Arabia."
Seeing her regain some color, King
began to explain. In short, he had many allies there. After overthrowing the old regime and becoming king he hadn't bothered to track down the old man. To him, the man was insignificant, not worth his time.
Under normal circumstances, he would have preferred to toss the man into a cremation furnace. But his mother had advised him to ignore the man if they ever crossed paths. So, after taking over Saudi Arabia, he hadn't pursued him. He was surprised to learn that the man had survived and even allied with the professor, seemingly thriving.
King's face turned icy as he glanced at Ricardo. Ricardo, the top assassin, was visibly seething. The best assassins could blend into a crowd without a hint of their deadly nature, but those photos had deeply affected him. Thinking about his sister being disrespected like that made Ricardo furious. His eyes flashed with anger as he spun his dagger faster.
King, still holding Brielle, continued to comfort her, eventually drifting off to sleep.
When they landed, Brielle followed King outside, where over a dozen luxury cars waited. The area was secured, with journalists kept two hundred meters away, their shouts barely audible.
Brielle frowned, glancing at King. Was he really this popular in Saudi Arabia?
They got into the car, where two
Saudi ministers were already seated. The political power in Saudi Arabia was divided among several
influential families. King, having net
takenControl of the oil, was now the leading figure, with the other families in supporting roles. Now that he was back, it seemed the
families saw an opportunity.
"King, you left in a hurry during the last Eid al-Adha, but everyone has already sent the selected women to your palace," one of the ministers said.
