shook his head and said, "Fine. Let's

pretend for a moment like there is a chance, and Jose manages to

persuade the Duke of Pingling to

attack."

"The question then becomes, why would they want to share the victory with you? What have you brought to the table? Your fighting power? Your money? Or your lazy attitude?"

His mocking sarcasm made Willie's

face turn pale. He felt his anger rise as he tried to defend himself. "Lam the son of a general. Jose needs my status in order to stabilize Yoraland once it's been conquered."

"Your status? Haha!" Fade laughed. "Do you really think that all your father's old friends and comrades will listen to your nonsense if you return?"

"Why would they submit to you? Are you good at fighting? Have you ever led troops to war? Do you know anything about running a country?"

The series of questions was making Willie's expression darker.

He wanted to explain, but he had no answers to Fade's questions.

Seeing this, Fade sneered and said, "You can't do anything. Aren't you just good-for-nothing?"

"A good-for-nothing who has been duped by others and he still thinks he's going to be King. How ridiculous." Fade scoffed and left the room.

Isabelle looked down at her brother on the floor. Her expression was complicated. "Willie, Mr. Chen is saying all this for your own good." Then, she turned to catch up with Fade.

When Fade saw Isabelle coming out, he took her hand and said, "You won't blame me for treating him like that, will you?"

Isabelle shook her head and said, "Not at all. He's being too naive. You are doing what's best for him."

As they were talking, a voice came from outside.

"The First Princess has arrived!"

"It's Elizabeth!" Fade got up and went out with Isabelle.

Elizabeth came into the hall and they exchanged pleasantries. After a while, she finally revealed the purpose of her visit.

The day before, Fade and Isabelle had asked her to help find out more information about Willie. She had done so and was now here to deliver that information personally. Fade did not waste any time. He opened up the files and read through them quickly.

After reading it, Fade couldn't help frowning and whispered, "This is too big of a coincidence."

Isabelle also frowned slightly. "Indeed it is."

"Willie and Uncle An had been living peacefully for more than a year. Meanwhile, the Duke of Pingling was transferred to a smaller city. However, his identity was quickly exposed and Uncle An died shortly after."

"Willie was on the run. With nowhere to turn, he ran into Jose, the son of the Duke of Pingling. That's how he managed to survive."

"Three months ago, Mr. Chen and I arrived in Double City. Coincidentally, Jose brought Willie to imperial city around this time."

"It seems to me like someone is arranging all these things on purpose."
