Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 591
? ? ? ? ?
Nicole really enjoyed watching them fight against each other and suffer the consequences of their actions.
Jarrod easily understood his little tricks. The curious thing was that while he was racking his brain thinking about how to treat her well and make her stay by his side, she was scheming how to hit him where it hurt the most and how to deliver the fatal blow.
With narrowed eyes, Jarrod scoffed. "You've gone to so much trouble just to get me imprisoned, right?"
Jarrod's dark eyes shone dangerously, as if one look could destroy the light in someone's eyes.
Nicole didn't feel intimidated, her expression calm as she commented, "Mr. Schultz, you must be tired of performing alongside me."
In fact, Nicole had finally realized reality. Jarrod was also acting. If not, how could he have so much knowledge of his plan to steal the documents? Logically, Jarrod should have caught her red-handed when she handed the files to Lowe. Unfortunately, he hadn't anticipated that he would pass out in the bathtub, allowing her to escape.
Jarrod's current composure showed that he was confident that he was in control of the entire situation.
Nicole smiled to herself. This man was about to pay the price for his arrogance.
Nicole reached out and straightened Jarrod's suit, as if dusting it, and scoffed, "You're a very talented actor, Mr. Schultz.
Putting the effort into you has been worth it.
Jarrod didn't smile or show annoyance. His expression instantly turned stony. He stepped forward, reached out and gently grabbed Nicole's chin. Nicole, I'm giving you one last chance. If you declare that you are willing to stay with me and that you will not get involved with other men again...
Jarrod paused, his expression saying he was making a great sacrifice. His fingers tightened their grip on her chin and he enunciated each word forcefully: "I'll let this matter go."
Nicole felt that Jarrod's brain was malfunctioning. Things had reached this point, and yet he continued to speak so unrealistically.
Even if he had said it, could his words be trusted? Did the vows or promises made between two people with such deep-rooted animosity have any meaning?
Their relationship was like a broken mirror. No matter how hard they tried to fix it, the cracks remained, making the person looking in the mirror look ugly.
"Drop the matter?" Nicole held back her anger, but her trembling eyelashes betrayed her fury as she spat, “Tell me, Jarrod. How can I get revenge for my father's death? I wish you were dead, but you stand in front of me and tell me to let it be?
"Nicole, I had nothing to do with your father's death, and I never sent anyone to deliver that document to him," Jarrod protested. He was not a man who usually gave explanations, but that incident from years ago was what he regretted most.
If Wesson hadn't died, they wouldn't be such bitter enemies now. If he had realized sooner that his love for Nicole was greater than his hate, perhaps their relationship could have been saved. Unfortunately, it was too late.
Nicole laughed humorlessly and commented, "You want to blame Jamie, right?"
Jarrod didn't answer, but his eyes said everything he wanted to say.
«If it weren't for you, would Jamie hate me so intensely? Would the thought of hurting my father even cross your mind? Tears dripped down Nicole's face as she laughed remembering the past, her heart clenching painfully.
«Jarrod, this is karma. Meeting you was the biggest mistake of my life. Nicole declared.
Jarrod finally understood. There was no way for them to reach a consensus, no possibility of reconciling. Nicole only wanted her miserable end.
At this moment, the door burst open.
