Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 500
? ? ? ? ?
Despite his youth, Roscoe was surprisingly skilled at babysitting. Nicole had always been hesitant to handle the delicate child, but Roscoe naturally had a way with the little one. As a result, Austin became attached to Roscoe.
Upon reflection, Nicole recognized that her life should not be so carefree. His parents could not find peace. They waited for the day when she would give them justice.
Behind her, Roscoe's voice broke the silence. "Nicole, I didn't do it."
Nicole's heart raced when she heard him. Just those few words conveyed a whole message to him.
After years of shared understanding, Roscoe knew Nicole understood what he meant. I was clarifying that I had no relationship. Even without her asking, he felt compelled to explain it to her.
Approaching, Roscoe met Nicole's gaze in the mirror and stated, "Nicole, I will always be faithful to you."
Their love burned passionately and their promises had formidable force.
However, Nicole couldn't bring herself to reciprocate his feelings. He was on a difficult path, full of obstacles. It wasn't right to drag anyone else into his problems.
Coldly, Nicole replied, "Roscoe, your actions are your business, not mine."
After Nicole's words, a heavy silence enveloped the room.
Smiling, Roscoe said, "Nicole, I see you care about me."
Nicole seemed unaware that every time she lied, she unconsciously pinched the nail on her index finger.
Roscoe couldn't help but smile when he noticed it. Realizing that she was deliberately provoking him, an act of affection towards him, she felt a wave of happiness so intense that her heart almost burst out of her chest.
Nicole was shocked. He had not expected that Roscoe would not believe his words at all. With reddened eyes, he uttered with cold determination: “Don't do all those useless things. "You know I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself."
Nicole couldn't understand why Roscoe had abandoned his medical career to return to the infamous Watts family.
Nicole had harbored suspicions about Roscoe's true identity long before.
During his stay abroad, Roscoe was invariably followed by bodyguards.
Since they did not appear to be hired by Roscoe himself, it could only mean that he came from a wealthy background where his mere identity required protection.
Nicole had been vigilant in her social circle and had heard rumors that Doreen favored the recently returned illegitimate son of the Watts family. However, I didn't expect it to be Roscoe.
The reputation of the Watts family was stained, mired in a quagmire of scandals.
Roscoe was so pure that Nicole felt the inexplicable desire to protect him from all of this.
"I won't do anything useless." Knowing that this was not a good place to talk, Roscoe lowered his voice to a murmur. "Nicole, I'll wait for you at our usual place tomorrow at midnight."
With a solemn shake of her head, Nicole whispered, "I won't be there."
Roscoe was used to her rejection and the sting of disappointment, and the smile on his face remained unwavering. "Then I'll be there every night without fail."
Nicole was speechless.
Roscoe continued: 'I've noticed the ginger in your porridge before.
Now it's too much flavor for you, so don't eat it. And don't forget to take your medication when you get home.
Nicole's eyes filled with tears. Roscoe's kindness overwhelmed her. If she continued to reject him, how would she be different from Jarrod, a cold-blooded and ruthless person?
Reflections of Roscoe and Nicole swam in the nearby mirror.
Tilting his head slightly, Roscoe brushed away Nicole's tears with his thumb. As his fingers wiped away the tears, he asked softly, "Do you love me, Nicole?"
Nicole trembled nervously.
Roscoe's smile widened, and when he spoke, his voice carried a faint but unmistakable joy. «You don't need to answer. "Time will tell."
Once again, Nicole didn't know what to answer. He dared not say anything that might frustrate his hopes.
Roscoe looked at her and said resolutely, “Nicole, give me time. I will mature." He vowed to become the companion Nicole needed, someone capable of protecting her.
Before Nicole could respond, an icy voice cut through the air. “What are you talking about?”
Jarrod's icy face appeared. He wore a suit as cold as his demeanor. His piercing gaze locked onto Nicole and Roscoe, harboring a hint of danger.
Nicole clenched her fists with a shudder.
Roscoe, on the other hand, remained calm and collected. "Nothing important."
“Okay,” Jarrod responded impassively, his features betraying no emotion. He moved closer, wrapped Nicole in a tight hug, and put his arm around her shoulder.
Noticing Nicole trembling, Jarrod laughed. «Your hand is cold.
Are you OK?"
His seemingly reassuring tone only made Nicole tremble more violently.
Jarrod had an impeccable demeanor and charm, which could easily lead others to perceive him as kind and carefree.
Nicole felt disgust at his touch.
However, Jarrod's grip tightened and his cold lips brushed her forehead as he murmured, "Are you getting sick?"
A chill ran through Nicole's veins. Every cell in his body resisted Jarrod. She felt sick. I was going too far. "Let go of me!" he screamed through clenched teeth, his voice barely a whisper against her ear.
Jarrod didn't seem to hear what she said. His lips curled as he pulled her closer.
To a third person, they appeared to be engrossed in a tender exchange.
Roscoe clenched his fists. His handsome features darkened with fury and his once clear eyes now burned with anger.
Seeing Roscoe, Doreen said briskly, "Oh, there you are!"
Approaching, Doreen linked her arm with Roscoe's, as if they were already a couple. He pouted and said, "I've been looking for you everywhere."
Roscoe still didn't respond, seemingly oblivious to Doreen's presence.
