"That?" Raegan asked. The next moment, Mitchel pulled her closer, her back against his chest.

Before Raegan could process her intentions, Mitchel lowered his head, his kiss much more deliberate than hers. His hands caressed her face, deepening the kiss, leaving her breathless and unable to form coherent thoughts.

The warmth of his embrace enveloped her and her heart pounded in her chest.

After what seemed like an eternity, Mitchel finally released her, his voice rough with emotion. "This is how a kiss should be."

Raegan, her face flushed, tried to get up, but his arms held her firmly.

“Stay a moment longer,” he whispered, his voice hoarse. «Two days have passed too long. "I've missed you."

His words flowed easily, sweetened by genuine affection.

Mitchel seemed ready to bare his soul before her and weave words of love he had never spoken before.

«I've missed you so much. You chase my dreams, but you stay out of my reach..."

There was a softness in his voice, a vulnerability that seemed to contradict the self-assured man she knew.

Hearing this side of him, Raegan was speechless, surprised by the depth of his feelings, momentarily putting aside her pride.

Mitchel released her before making a request. "Tomorrow I want to taste the porridge you make."

He appreciated the taste of his porridge, unparalleled in the last five years.

Porridge, of all things? Raegan was taken aback. With countless employees at her beck and call, Raegan hadn't touched a pot in years, and yet the task seemed trivial.

He nodded. “Okay, but you have to let me go now. "I have to go back."

With one last kiss, Mitchel let her slip from his grasp.

Then he got up and offered, "I'll take you back."

Raegan protested, eyes wide, “But you're not feeling well.”

"I feel fine," Mitchel replied, eager to spend a few more moments with her.

Despite his handsome, if slightly pale, appearance, Raegan noticed his bravado. “Of course not, or you can forget about your porridge.”

Mitchel conceded, suggesting, "Let Matteo take you back then."

“I have my own transportation,” Raegan replied.

Even so, Mitchel insisted with a concern that sharpened his voice: «Let him follow you back. "It's late and I'm worried."

Raegan felt a sweetness swell in her heart, a comforting warmth spreading within her.

After Raegan left, Mitchel's night took a turn. Katie's anxious voice came through the phone.

“Mitchel…” Katie was on the verge of tears, revealing her father's sudden heart attack.

"How could it happen?" Mitchel's brow furrowed in concern.

"Don't know. "Suddenly, my father fainted at home." Katie's voice shook.

Tears brimmed in Katie's eyes as she spoke. «Would you mind postponing tomorrow's clarification press conference? The Glyn group is disorganized. News like this could sink the stock price. Because of the long friendship between our families, could you consider delaying it...?

Mitchel took a moment and his lips formed into a thin line. "I will contact the best cardiovascular specialist for your father and do everything possible to help him succeed."

Katie was relieved and her heart lightened knowing that her decision had been the right one.

The next moment, Mitchel's voice gave him a chill. “The Glyn Group can have half a month to stabilize itself for any sudden developments and any changes in the stock market before we hold the press conference.”

This concession was a significant gesture of respect from Mitchel to Katie's father. The Glyn Group now had fifteen days to manage the crisis. It was enough time. It was decided. He would quickly handle any tribulation that might unsettle Raegan.

Katie couldn't believe what she had just heard. Mitchel's words made no sense. Trembling, he choked and pleaded, “Mitchel, but…”

But before Katie could finish her words, Mitchel, in a voice devoid of emotion, interrupted her: “I don't want to hear any buts! Katie, listen.

If the Glyn Group cannot find a solution to the current crises, the public relations team will have to be fired from the company.

“I…” Katie wanted to argue, but Mitchel interrupted her again, saying firmly, “That will be it.”

Then, not caring what Katie had to say, Mitchel had ended the call.

Shortly afterward, Matteo came in and broke the news that Reagan, under escort, had arrived home safely.

Mitchel said nothing for a moment. Finally, he raised his head and said, “I want you to investigate the condition of Katie's father. As soon as you discover anything suspicious about his illness, inform me.

Having seen through Katie, Mitchel's firm trust in her had been shattered. Now, every word that came out of his mouth sounded like a lie.

If Katie's statement turned out to be true, then the entire situation could easily be smoothed over. After all, Katie's father was a long-time supporter of their faction. Mitchel would give the Glyn family enough time to deal with the crisis.

But, if Katie had lied to him, he wouldn't be the least bit merciful. He would unleash all his anger on her.

Before long, Matteo was able to obtain the test report from Katie's father.

According to the report, Katie's father had developed complications that had led him to experience shock that could lead him to become seriously ill.

“I have also reviewed all other hospital documents that have anything to do with Mr. Glyn and from the looks of it, his condition is quite serious. And the entire time he's been in the ICU, Miss Glyn has been by his side," Matteo reported.

Mitchel nodded and glanced at the report. It was authentic, which meant there was no foul play anywhere.

Mitchel then looked at Matteo and ordered, "Contact the best cardiovascular specialist in the country and arrange for them to have a consultation with Mr. Glyn."

“I will,” Matteo replied.
