Henley's face contorted into a frown and she tried to explain, "Raegan, please listen to me..."

"Was it a mistaken diagnosis by the doctor?" Raegan replied.

Henley was surprised. For a moment, he stared at her. And then, he bowed his head slightly and admitted, “Yes.”

Raegan's eyes filled with tears. With a trembling voice, he asked, "How could you lie to me?"

Henley stopped acting and smiled weakly.

«Raegan, don't you see?

I'm in love with you. "I want you to stay with me."

Trembling with anger, Raegan confronted Henley: “Resorting to lies?”

“I will use any means to keep you by my side,” Henley replied with an unwavering smile.

«Henley, are you really like that? I thought I knew you. Turns out I was wrong." Raegan grabbed her bag and added, “I'm sorry. I know you saved me, but what I hate the most is people who lie to me.

"I'll cover the medical bills, but let's not see each other again."

Henley fixed his intense gaze on Raegan.

“Raegan, I never meant to hurt you.”

Raegan headed for the door. Without once looking back, he blurted out, "I hate being fooled."

And with that, he left.

As Henley watched her leave, her eyes darkened and looked at him sinisterly.

Once the door closed, he murmured, "Raegan, I'll never let you go."

When Raegan left the hospital, it was already dark outside.

He remembered the disappointment in Mitchel's eyes when he asked him if he knew Henley's true colors. She realized how blind she had been.

It was then that he realized that he had never known who Henley was.

Although she had never directly harmed him, in retrospect, many of Henley's actions seemed to cause conflict between her and Mitchel. I had been so naive.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Raegan wanted company, so she headed out to find Nicole.

Meanwhile, Jarrod woke up in the hospital after two days in a coma. In his unconscious state, he was tormented by incessant nightmares.

In his dreams, Nicole appeared lifeless and did not respond no matter how much he called her.

When he woke up, panic took over him and he continued calling Nicole.

Jamie, who was standing next to his bed, heard him. A look of malevolence flashed in his eyes, but he hid it quickly.

He grabbed Jarrod's hand and sobbed.

“Jarrod, you're finally awake!”

Jarrod offered a half-hearted hug to Jamie and then tried to get out of bed.

However, Jamie clung to his arm.

"Jarrod, where are you going?"

“I have to take care of something,” Jarrod replied, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Nicole's illness.

Jamie felt hatred, but he didn't show it. Instead, he adopted a softer tone and said, "Jarrod, something happened while you were unconscious."

"What was it?"

«A man came to see Nicole. "She says he is the father of her son."

"What did he say?" Jarrod asked, dismayed. His expression darkened, and his handsome face was almost terrifying.

«Nicole is pregnant. And while you were unconscious, he repaid the eighty million loan. I don't know how he got the money. "She denies the child is hers, but we can't be sure," Jamie explained sheepishly.

Jamie watched Jarrod carefully and was pleased to see his expected reaction. Then, he dropped another bombshell.

«Jarrod, his illness was a lie. He doesn't have stomach cancer. "They are just ulcers."

"How do you know?"

Although Jarrod's expression did not change, a crimson hue spread across his cold and ruthless eyes. It hinted at a deep, unspoken fury that made others tremble.

“Come in,” Jamie motioned to someone outside. Then a young nurse entered.

«This nurse cared for Nicole's parents. "Ask her."

Jarrod fixed the nurse with an icy stare and ordered, "Think carefully before you speak."

The nurse felt as if her soul was gripped by Jarrod's presence. He feared that a single misstep could be his undoing.

He didn't dare make up a story and told Jarrod what he had heard.

"Miss Lawrence told her parents she only had stomach ulcers. I'm not lying. You can go to his pavilion and check it out.”

In fact, those were Nicole's words to comfort her parents. Little did she know that Jamie would twist them like that.

Jamie dismissed the nurse and called the surgeon Jarrod had met before.

"Doctor, please inform Jarrod of Miss Lawrence's condition," Jamie ordered.

With trembling hands, the doctor handed Jarrod the diagnostic report.

«Miss Lawrence has stomach ulcers. He paid me to tell others that I had stomach cancer. "I deeply regret the misunderstanding."

Jarrod's expression became even colder. Jamie expected an outburst of anger, but to his surprise, Jarrod burst out laughing.

"So, you still think you're qualified to be a doctor?"

His laugh lacked any warmth.

The doctor, weakened by Jarrod's laughter, stammered, "I know I was wrong. Please have mercy. It was his thing... His fault..."

Jarrod's hand shot out and grabbed the doctor's throat with iron grip.

"You don't deserve to be a doctor!"

Applause! Jarrod slapped the doctor in the face. As if that were not enough, he forcefully threw the doctor to the ground, leaving him writhing in pain.

Finally, Jarrod turned to Alec and ordered, “Check his story. If it's true, make sure he can't use his hands again."

Such a person had no right to devote himself to medicine.

Alec nodded and dragged the doctor away.

Jamie patted Jarrod on the back and reassured him.

«I never thought Nicole could be so twisted. He used this ruse to raise money and pay off his family's debt, preventing his father from going to prison.

I'm impressed. "He planned to kill two birds with one stone."

Jarrod grabbed his coat and ordered, "You, come back."

"Where are you going?" Jamie asked curiously.

"Wait for me at home," Jarrod replied dryly, without offering any further explanation.

As Jamie watched Jarrod walk away, a feeling of triumph washed over her. He had prepared unpleasant surprises for Nicole.

Fresh out of the shower, Nicole was greeted by the sound of the doorbell.

Thinking it was a food delivery, he opened the door without a second thought.

To his dismay, it was someone he didn't want to see.

"Nicole, it's been a long time," the man said with a sleazy smile on his face. It was Kieran, a figure from her past she hoped to forget.

"How did you locate me?" Nicole asked suspiciously.

“I have my ways,” Kieran replied chillingly. Then he handed her a bouquet of flowers and added: "I've missed you."

«Go right now. "We are not close." Nicole pushed the door open.

But then, Kieran's expression changed abruptly. She kicked open the door, forcefully shoved a bouquet of flowers into Nicole's face, and said venomously, "Stop acting tough, you ungrateful girl!" I have come to claim you.

Before Nicole could react, he pinned her to the ground and violently tore her clothes.

Nicole fought with all her might, but he was too strong. She couldn't even do anything when he tore her clothes.

Soon she was naked.

Desperate, Nicole sank her teeth into Kieran's carotid.

Just then… Boom! A thunderous crash echoed through the room.

A powerful kick had thrown Kieran backwards.

Shocked by the sudden turn of events, Nicole stared dazedly at the intruder.

Jarrod entered the room, step by step. His gaze was cold and merciless, like a malevolent spirit from the depths of hell.

“Nicole, you have stunned me.”
