Chapter 1597:

Luis was speechless. With a dramatic sigh, he exclaimed: “Mitchel, you are hopeless! “You have come here only to boast of your happiness.”
"If I drink, she won't let me share a bed with her tonight," Mitchel replied calmly.
“Enough!” Luis exclaimed, clutching his chest in mock agony. “We understand that you are under the thumb. Stop bragging about it.”
Unfazed by Luis's taunts, Mitchel stared at Jarrod. “Jarrod, you've always been my friend, but I cannot condone your business practices. Roscoe's project benefits the public. Whatever your motives, suppressing it is unfair.”
Jarrod replied, “What do you know?”
Mitchel said evenly, “I understand you assume my stance is influenced by Nicole’s request to Raegan, right?” He knew full well that Jarrod's irritation stemmed from Nicole's involvement.
“However, have you considered why Nicole is inclined to help Roscoe?” Mitchel posed the question.
Jarrod fell silent, thinking.
"As I understand it, Roscoe has feelings for Nicole, but he has respected her boundaries. He has quietly supported her, especially during her time as a single mother. It's only natural that Nicole would express gratitude to him," Mitchel said.
"Nicole feels indebted to Roscoe and wants to spare him from suffering. That feeling is understandable. But has she considered her role? Are you unintentionally pushing Nicole away?"
Mitchel's concern stemmed from genuine friendship.
After a long silence, Jarrod finally spoke. “What meaning does my affection have if your heart remains distant?”
“Maybe your approach is the problem,” Mitchel commented. I understood Jarrod perfectly. Jarrod's pride often clouded his judgment, making his attempts at reconciliation impersonal and distant.
“You mean well, but your proximity might cloud your vision. Try to empathize with her. Remember how you treated Jamie when you saw her as your savior? You were more forgiving then,” Mitchel explained.
«Nicole has a keen sense of people. If Roscoe had Jamie's flaws, she wouldn't help him. Roscoe is different, and Nicole's compassion motivates her help. If they really wanted each other, they would have gotten together already. “Her doubts tell one thing.”
Mitchel paused before continuing: “Nicole’s feelings for Roscoe may be rooted more in gratitude than love. “His actions may unintentionally push her further away.”
Jarrod remained silent. No one had ever told him such truths before. He kept his thoughts to himself, refraining from engaging in discussions on such matters. Mitchel had a deep understanding of the dynamic between him and Nicole. His words carried a lot of weight.
In his final assessment, Mitchel said: “If you truly feel capable of freeing Nicole, then ignore my advice and proceed as usual. However, if you find it impossible, refrain from any actions that would cause her harm.”
Watching Jarrod's silent response, Mitchel glimpsed a glimmer of hope.
With heartfelt sincerity, Mitchel stated, “Even if a romantic connection with Nicole is not feasible, it is imperative to nurture another form of connection. She is still your child's mother, a constant that transcends circumstances. Have you thought about the emotional burden of separating your child from her? Have you ever wondered if your child longs to be reunited with his mother?”
This question resonated deeply with Jarrod.
Although Austin was not defiant, his silence towards Jarrod was firm. Within the confines of his home, the atmosphere was subdued, with Austin's demeanor noticeably solemn.
