Chapter 1282:
? ? ? ? ?
Alec paused, unsure of the wisdom of leaving Vicki with Austin.
Vicki reassured her: “Don't worry. “I’ll take good care of him.”
Vicki leaned over to Austin and said softly, “Hey, if you're good and listen to me, Alec can take her to the hospital, okay?”
Austin, too young to understand Vicki's intentions, was relieved that someone was there to look after his babysitter. He vigorously.
"Okay, I'll listen to you. Please help save her."
This gave Alec peace of mind, who quickly helped the nanny into the car and headed to the hospital.
Vicki asked the maids if Austin had any dietary restrictions and then dismissed them, wanting to spend some time alone with Austin.
Since Vicki had already dined often in this villa, the maids saw her as the future mistress and did not dare to defy her. They obediently left.
Upon closer inspection of Austin's room, in comparison to the black and white theme of the villa, Vicki found that this room was well decorated. Both the paintings on the walls and the furniture placed in the room were quite appropriate for a small child. It was clear that Jarrod cared a lot about this child.
A pang of unease began to grow inside Vicki. She turned to the quiet boy and asked, “What's your name?”
«Austin. Austin had calmed down quite a bit since before. To him, Vicki was just another unfamiliar face, and he was naturally wary of people he didn't know. Like Jarrod, he always kept his distance from strangers.
Vicki was initially seeing things with frustration, although she managed to keep a neutral face. When she saw Austin's red face, an idea occurred to her.
He walked over and opened the window, letting in the cold breeze.
Just as Vicki expected, Austin sneezed.
“Austin, you look cold. Maybe you should get some rest,” Vicki suggested reassuringly.
“I’m not cold.” Austin shook his head, determined. “I have to wait for him to come back.”
Vicki looked down and asked, “Austin, would you like to see your mother?”
Austin's eyes widened. “Can I?” The babysitter had told him he couldn't see his mom or Roscoe yet, explaining that his parents were working through some issues and he needed to be patient.
Vicki knew that children her age were capable of remembering things.
The idea of making him forget Nicole was futile, so why would he bother taking care of another woman's child? Raising another woman's child?
That was out of place.
“Of course you can,” Vicki promised. “If you listen to me, I'll let you see your mother.”
“Really?” Austin was still naive, and his promise immediately caught his interest.
“Of course it's true. I even have pictures of your mother on my phone. Do you want to see them?” Vicki offered.
