Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 1279
Chapter 1279:
? ? ? ? ?
Nicole believed that as long as Derek was alive, she still had a chance in the custody battle with Austin. But this was just one of the reasons she wanted Jarrod to stop hitting Derek.
Another reason was that she felt that Jarrod had no right to judge Derek. To her, no matter how evil Derek was, he should be punished by law. Jarrod had no right to arbitrarily kill Derek as punishment.
Jarrod had always considered human life to be worthless. In his eyes, it was nothing more than a toy to be disposed of at will.
But Nicole was not like him. She respected human life and wanted a fair trial for those who sinned. That's why, even though Derek had committed several crimes, she believed that he should only be judged by a court of law.
Nicole's lips trembled. “Jarrod, you…”
But before she could finish her words, Derek suddenly shouted, interrupting her: “It's you! “You are that person!”
Jarrod looked down at Derek condescendingly. But Derek's face was so swollen that he couldn't see anything anymore. He didn't know that Jarrod's face was now filled with killing intent. He continued to stammer, “You… You’re that psycho!”
At the mention of Jarrod's name, Derek finally remembered that the switched sample was for Jarrod. No wonder Jarrod wanted to beat him to death.
If Jarrod wasn't sick, why did he need to change the sample?
Although Derek had no idea how crazy Jarrod had become, he did know about the medicine. Only people who couldn't control their emotions took such a drug. Over time, such people would either go completely insane or become seemingly civilized but violent people. In the end, they would have no choice but to kill to appease their inner turbine.
Derek felt doomed and announced, "A lunatic like you deserves to die. I shouldn't have changed that sample."
But regret always came last. At this point, it was useless to regret.
Jarrod picked up a rock from the ground, raised his hand, and prepared to smash it against Derek's head.
Nicole moved forward to stop Jarrod, but he instinctively pushed her away. Shocked, she fell to the ground and felt everything around her go black.
Dazed, she thought she heard someone calling her name: "Nicole!" Then she fell into a coma.
Outside the operating room, Jarrod stood like a tree. He was still covered in blood and his face was full of worry.
Doctors and nurses came and went, but Jarrod remained impassive. He stood firmly in front of the door.
Alec had rushed to the hospital when he heard the news. Seeing Jarrod's appearance, his heart felt overwhelmed with guilt. He knew Jarrod couldn't let Nicole go yet and he felt that he shouldn't make Derek deal with her. She was just a woman.
As long as Jarrod could control her, what was the problem?
Because Jarrod loved Nicole so much, with all the suffering Jarrod had endured in his life, Alec just wanted Jarrod to get what he wanted.
If Jarrod really did love Nicole but couldn't control her, Alec vowed to be there to offer help. He would always support Jarrod.
With this in mind, Alec decided to protect Nicole from now on. He simply did it for Jarrod's sake.
At that moment, Vicki came out and stood behind Alec. Worried about Jarrod, she asked Alec to let her know as soon as he had any news.
But how could Alec tell Vicki that Jarrod had gone to save Nicole?
So she didn't say anything. As a result, Vicki secretly followed Alec and found out that he had gone to the hospital.
