Mitchel feared that Raegan might intervene if she didn't hear back about Nicole soon, which only made him more worried.

Raegan burst into tears, her voice shaking with worry. “Nicole, could… could she be in danger?”

“Don't worry. I've informed Jarrod. I trust we’ll find her soon,” Mitchel reassured her.

“What?” Raegan exclaimed in disbelief.

“Have you informed Jarrod? He must be the killer! Who else in Ardlens would have a motive to harm Nicole? When her father's company went bankrupt, she borrowed money to pay off the employees. No one but Jarrod would hold a grudge against her. “He must be the one orchestrating this!”

“It's not him,” Mitchel replied calmly. “Raegan, trust me. Nicole is the mother of his child. He wouldn’t hurt her, and right now, he may be the only one who can find her.”

Every minute that passed made the danger grow. Mitchel preferred not to share it with Raegan. He didn't want to exacerbate his anxiety.

"Do you really think Jarrod would see Austin as just his son?"

Raegan asked skeptically.

Jarrod had consistently shown himself willing to sacrifice anything for his own benefit, and given his history of extreme actions, Raegan doubted he would forgive Nicole just because Nicole was Austin's mother.

"Raegan, trust me. He wouldn't make this statement lightly. He wouldn't hurt Austin or allow anyone to hurt Nicole," Mitchel said.

There was plenty of advice Mitchel could offer Jarrod, but he recognized the limitations of intervening directly, as Austin was Jarrod's son and it was not in his power to interfere.

However, Jarrod's recent consultation with cardiologists for Austin's sake indicated that he was not as indifferent as he seemed.

In fact, Jarrod and Mitchel's lack of interaction for a long period was due to Nicole and Raegan's close relationship.

At that moment, Raegan felt helpless. Although she had considered venting out to find Nicole on her own, she realized that her skills could not match those of Matteo's professional team.

Venturing out might not only contribute to the mess, but also divert resources if he encountered problems. So he decided to follow Mitchel's advice and wait for news at home.

"Your project is at a critical point. Won't it be affected by your return?"

Raegan asked, concern evident in her voice.

Raegan felt a surge of warmth and said gently, “Then travel carefully and try to rest during the flight.”
