Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 1213
Chapter 1213:
? ? ? ? ?
Leila empathized with her but could not promise that her message would reach her, saying only: "Miss Lawrence, I will do what I can."
That was enough to reassure Nicole. She took Leila's hand, expressing her gratitude: "Thank you, Leila. Thank you..."
Leila later continued with her normal activities, heading home after her shift and returning to work the next day.
Jarrod was unusually careful this time. Even nurses like Leila were escorted by bodyguards, who also kept an eye on them until they returned to work.
Nicole, however, thought it was probably Alec's doing. Jarrod didn't usually worry about such details.
Alec was frustrated. After being outwitted by Nicole twice, he was now more cautious around her.
Alec struggled to understand Jarrod's mixed feelings towards Nicole, a mix of love and hate that he found difficult to understand.
These emotions were new to him. Jarrod was operating on a level beyond his understanding, anyway.
Days later, Leila took advantage of an opportunity. She had previously given home-cooked food to the driver who drove her there and back.
The driver appreciated the home-cooked flavour, a refreshing change from the usual heavy city meals. His respect for Leila increased.
Leila prepared more dishes for the driver, who enjoyed them in the car, but later suffered an upset stomach from another fast food meal.
Leila invited the driver to her house to get some medication and rest.
Since the drivers tasked with transporting nurses like Leila were not as closely guarded as Jarrod's, and since Leila was old enough to be his mother, with her husband also at home, they accepted his invitation.
At a moment of opportunity, Leila excused herself to go shopping and left the house.
This time, without a driver following her, Leila disguised herself with a hat and returned to the hospital. She spent some time asking around the men's ward until she finally found Roscoe's room.
There were guards posted outside Roscoe's room. I waited a long time, but found no way in.
Leila was determined. She wasn't ready to give up just yet.
Nicole had gone out of her way to secure a top-notch tutor for Leila's son, bypassing a long waiting list that even money couldn't shorten.
Nicole's recommendation convinced the esteemed tutor to offer his services for free. It was an opportunity that money alone couldn't buy.
So Leila felt a strong determination to help Nicole today. Unable to find a way in, she went outside, lost in thought beneath the second-floor windows.
At that moment, a boy was playing with a remote-controlled airplane nearby, which sparked an idea in Leila. She approached the boy and said, “Hey, could you use your airplane to bring something to that window for me?”
The boy agreed without hesitation.
Leila placed a carefully written note on the plane, which the boy expertly flew to the second-floor window.
The plane stopped on the windowsill and the girl knocked on the window three times with it, but no one answered from inside.
