"Jarrod Schultz!"

Nicole's voice cleared her throat, sounding like rotten wood as she enunciated each syllable.

The atmosphere became increasingly suffocating, making her feel like her life was slipping away.

A memory of his mother holding a birthday cake flashed before his eyes.

“Make a wish, Nicole!” Her mother looked at her as if she were the most precious jewel.

Would his mother be able to accept his death?

That thought brought big tears to Nicole's swollen eyes.

What had she done to deserve this?

Jarrod's eyes burned, wide. Her grip tightened around Nicole's fragile neck, nearly breaking it.

He scolded himself internally.

He had felt compassion for that woman, even pity for her the night before.

When his father died in prison and his mother committed suicide, he was left with nothing. She had made fun of him then, and he had shrugged it off just yesterday.

But what about her? She found him repulsive.

His words echoed those of some damning video, belittling him and declaring that he deserved to be deceived.

His hatred towards her intensified.

With a disdainful smile, Jarrod made a chilling promise.

He no longer felt any sympathy for her. His actions had shown that he didn't deserve her.

She would be trapped by him for the rest of her days, as long as she lived.

His intention was clear. It was making her suffer indefinitely.

Jarrod approached Nicole with evil eyes and whispered a sinister vow in her ear: "You will agonize for the rest of your days, Nicole."

Nicole remained silent. His glassy eyes and bruised face caused Jarrod to abruptly loosen his grip, as if brought back to reality.

Once she could breathe, Nicole inhaled deeply, like a dried fish finding water.

His complexion matched the whiteness of the sheet.

He remembered his strange dream.

While she had slept, Jarrod had held her tenderly, stroking her hair as if they were newfound lovers. That compassionate Jarrod only existed in his fantasies.

Divine mercy would never touch her again.

Staring at the woman he considered deceptively pathetic, Jarrod's mood darkened.

He issued a brief order: “Consider it an accident. Be careful with your words.

A blush of rage stained Nicole's face. She felt totally humiliated.

Were he and Jamie plotting against her?

He asked, "Jarrod, where's my phone?"

With a mocking laugh, Jarrod handed him the phone.

Without wasting time, Nicole pressed the emergency numbers. She might not be able to face Jamie and the monster before her, but someone had to answer for her abuse and disfigurement.

Undeterred, Jarrod asked, "So, have you made a decision?" Are you really going to endanger the Lawrence family over such a petty matter?

“What are you implying, Jarrod?” Nicole replied.

Minor? The pain in his face was unbearable, and he had heard the nurse mention his disfigurement.

Was that insignificant to them?

"Like I said, it was an accident," Jarrod replied coldly.

Trembling with indignation, Nicole blurted out, "Jarrod, are you suggesting that I just put up with it?"

"Indeed".

A look of desperation clouded Nicole's eyes.

«Jarrod, my face is ruined.

A vase smashed against her. If my arm hadn't protected me, my face would be totally mutilated. "I could have died."

The word "dead" made Jarrod's heart skip a beat.

Quickly recovered, he replied coldly, “Yet here you are, still breathing.”

Nicole laughed hollowly, her face ashen and her hair disheveled like a deranged woman.

«Jarrod, you know very well why they attacked me. You're not just trash.

You are a monster. Do you want me dead? “I will give you what you want,” she articulated each word, choked by grief.

Suddenly, he threw back the blanket, jumped out of bed, and ran to the window.

Before Jarrod could react, Nicole had already climbed up.

Staring at the floor, he said bitterly, “Jarrod, this is the tenth floor. "I think I'll look worse if I jump in."

“Nicole, come back here!” Jarrod bellowed, his eyes wide with panic.

«But my beauty is already ruined. A horrible scar mars my face. No matter how much I dress up, that won't change," Nicole murmured, deep in thought.

A wave of desolation washed over her. What was the point of continuing to live?

Why had his life turned upside down so catastrophically after Jarrod's return?

He had shattered all the illusions I had of him.

It had hurt her deeply.

Jarrod, I've always told you that I don't owe you anything. You've never believed me. So, he thinks it's a lie. "I loved you once."

If he could, he would live Jarrod's life, enduring all of his hardships, just so they could be at peace.

She had admitted that she once loved him.

Jarrod laughed bitterly. I was lying to him, even now.

He wouldn't be fooled. He would never be fooled.

A woman as deceitful and fickle as her did not deserve love.

With his tongue clenched in his teeth, he coldly pronounced, “Jump and I will wipe out the Lawrence Group from Ardlens. Your family will wish they had joined you, and those you care about will live in the shadow of your choice.

His eyes burned with an intensity that could consume anyone.

Without his consent, Nicole had no right to die.

He hated her so much, how could he leave this world before experiencing something worse than death?

Despite the swelling that distorted half of her face, her lips formed a graceful curve. He stared at him and declared, “Jarrod, three years!

Your three years abroad were hell. I'll give you my next three. If I survive them, you release the Lawrence family and let me go.

Jarrod scoffed.

"Who do you think you are to negotiate with me?"

«Because it is you. You can't let go of me and you can use me to satisfy your twisted desires. I'm willing to put it in writing, but you have to offer me some hope, right?

His face hidden by bandages, his smile was strange but strangely captivating.

From the moment she stopped loving him and tormenting herself, he had become unbeatable.

He wanted to come to terms with that demon, cut ties once and for all.

Jarrod looked at her, his face swollen but still seductive, a dark glint flickering in his eyes.

He was practically begging for his own humiliation.

Well, he would be happy to oblige her!

Three years would be enough to break that woman, to completely purge her from her system.

He smiled and said, “Okay, deal.”

With a triumphant smile, Nicole added: "I have one more condition."
