Love In Between
Chapter 16

**It was clear to me that men could be the most basic individuals in this world, but that night Gael had managed to make me see that he was a complete idiot for not knowing what he himself wanted. I felt anger, but at the same time his reaction made me realise that something was changing.

I sit down on the white floor of the photo set and position myself in the most sensual way possible without taking my eyes off him. I can see his eyes roaming over every millimetre of me, and to tell you the truth, I don’t mind him doing it at all. I move my hair and arrange it so that I get the best picture possible.

I see the flash on his phone go off and then he looks back up at me. -Get on all fours. – He asks, making me laugh. -What was so funny,” he asks confused and I stand up to go over to him.

I’m in front of him and I put my hand on his shoulder, “The last man who asked me that, did it and not just to take a picture of me. – I say in his ear and I can feel one of his hands slowly grabbing my waist.

He gets close to my ear and that damn scent he’s giving off is killing me… it’s so sexy… -I’m thinking of a good reason not to ask you for the same reason he asked you. – He whispers in my ear and smiles triumphantly.

Without saying anything I move away from him and kneel down on the set and then put my hands on the set so that I look the way he wanted me to. Let him imagine what he likes… let him believe what he likes about me; this is my game and I’m going to win it. -Will you take the picture or not?” I ask when I see that he doesn’t move and just stares at me.

“That’s Gael… Imagine… Realize what you’ll be missing.”

-I’m imagining you without that lingerie. – He comments and smiles.

-You’ll have to make do with that, Marti… you’ll never see me without it again. – I reply immediately.

It’s clear that he didn’t like my comment. He takes the photo and then sits down on the floor, still looking at me.

-Why are you doing this,” he asks in frustration.

-It was you who wanted to photograph me like this. – I reply without further ado and walk over to sit next to him.

There’s silence between the two of us and I don’t know if it’s because I can’t bring myself to speak or he doesn’t know what to say. He turns to look at me and slowly runs down my legs, my waist, my breasts, and reaches my eyes. -I don’t know how to tell you Serena, but you drive me crazy. – He says in a whisper.

“That’s what I wanted, to drive him crazy.

-We’ve been through this before, Gael. Let’s not repeat the mistake of the last time we met. – I tell him and bluntly stand up to get my dress, but he stops me, holding my hand.

-Wait,” he says firmly and stands up.

-What do you want? That’s enough, Gael; I know I’ve told you it’s best if we have a good time so we can forget about them, but that’s it. You’re already back with her, you’re getting married and I won’t be your lover. – I say firmly and move my arm to let go so I can finally get my dress.

I can hear her footsteps behind me, but I decide to ignore them and keep walking. I bend down to pick up the dress from the floor and as I stand up I find him staring at me. -Do you want me to leave her?” he asks firmly and I can only look at him in confusion.

-You’re asking me if I want you to leave your fiancée? I don’t understand why you involve me in a decision that you have made. –

I thought he was a smart man, but now I realise he’s an idiot.

-Because that’s what you make me see. – He replies as I get dressed in front of him.

-Gael, you can do whatever you want with your life. If you want to marry Delfina, do it, but don’t come to me playing at being an irresistible man. I don’t have to answer any questions about you and Delfina. You already know what you have with her.

-And with you? How will I know what I can have with you? – He interrupts me and I have to look him in the eye.

-What? What are you talking about? Gael, I think you’ve had enough of me. This isn’t like when you go for ice cream and ask to try different tastes so you know which one you’ll choose in your cup. Grow up and see if you’ll marry Delfina because you choose her with all your senses, or do you choose her with that brainless head of yours? – I retort angrily.

“I can’t believe what you’ve said”.

-I’ve only had s*x with you,” he says firmly and I laugh.

-And what did you want to have? That’s the only thing you were looking for from me, don’t play the saint now please,” I speak sarcastically and decide to go to my office.

As I cross the door that divides the studio from the offices, he enters behind me and stops me on the way. -I just can’t figure out how I feel about you. – He finally speaks and I’m doing my best not to hang onto his neck and k**s him.

-I think you’d better figure out how you feel about her. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go, I don’t know if the paparazzi have left or not, but I need you to get out of here too. – I speak ignoring him and looking for the best way to get out of this office.

**Leaving the office that night was no easy task, but for my own sake I needed to do it. I didn’t want to fall into his trap again. I needed to keep the cards stacked in my favor.
