Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1500: I am being followed

After a few days of recovery in the hospital, Paulina was finally discharged.

As soon as she got home, Esteban and Sweety immediately came running to her.

"Mom, welcome home." Esteban held the little card high in his hand.

Next to him, Sweety said, "Mommy, this is a card my brother and I drew."

Both little ones looked at Paulina expectantly.

Paulina took it with a smile and opened it to show a woman with a big smile.

The drawing was hers.

Next to it was the crooked line.

--for a favorite mummy.

It was Sweety's handwriting.

He could imagine the serious look on Sweety's little face as she wrote those words. Excitement flooded her heart.

She gave each little one a hug and said, "Thank you, Mommy likes it very much."

When she said she liked it, Stephen pursed his lips and smiled, and Sweety felt even happier.

In the evening, after dinner, the whole family went into the living room to sit and chat.

The atmosphere was warm and cordial.

Paulina bit her lip and whispered, "I want to get back to work."

The others were chatting about other things when suddenly they heard her little voice and the chatter came to a screeching halt, turning their heads to look at her. Ms. Gloria frowned, "Paulina, the most important thing for you right now is to get well, not go to work."

"Mom, I'm just fine." Paulina felt helpless, she didn't know how she was going to prove to them that her body was really fine.

"Sister-in-law, stay home with Bonita and don't go to work." said Alvaro.

Next to him, Bonita repeated, "Yes, sister-in-law, stay home with me, you won't get bored." Paulina knew they were all doing her a favor, but she really didn't want to stay home all day.

She turned her head to look at Marcos and asked, "And Marcos, what do you want to say?".

Marcos looked down at her pupils, which were glowing faintly with anticipation, and asked instead, "Do you really want to go to work?"

Paulina nodded her head vigorously to show her determination.

Mrs. Gloria feared that Marcos really agreed, so she hastened to speak up, "Marcos, you know Paulina's health very well, you can't let her do anything."

Sr. Juan, who had been silent, also spoke up, "Paulina, I understand your thoughts, but the Leoz Group has so many employees, you're really not the only one." "Sister-in-law, it's fine that you have career aspirations, but you have to live within your means."

Paulina suddenly felt suddenly embarrassed as they all talked amongst themselves.

She even regretted bringing up the subject.

She pursed her lips, thought for a while and said, "I know you're all worried about me, but I'm doing great. And I'll be careful this time, it won't happen again." It was then that Marcos spoke slowly: "You can work if you want, but you will only help me with the data. Alfredo will take care of the event planning." "No problem." Paulina agreed without saying a word.

It was good to be able to work, she didn't care what kind of work she did.

"Marcos, you..."

Ms. Gloria was about to say something else, but was interrupted by Marcos, "Dad, Mom, don't worry, I'll take care of Paulina."

The main reason she agreed to have Paulina work was so that she would be under his watch and would know immediately if anything happened. Now that he had made up his mind, the others said nothing more.

...

The next day Paulina went to the office with Marcos.

She spent the whole morning in the president's office sorting data and, after lunch, Marcos ordered her to take a lunch break in the break room. When he got up from his nap, Marcos was not in the office.

When she asked the secretary, she learned that he had left for a meeting.

She was left alone in the large office, which was very quiet.

She sat at her desk, carefully correcting each set of data, occasionally picking up a pen and writing on a piece of paper.

It was almost four o'clock when he received a call from Alfredo.

"Paulina, can you do me a favor?" Alfredo's voice on the other end of the line sounded a little anxious.

Paulina's eyebrows furrowed slightly, "What's up?"

"The prince is talking to someone right now about a partnership and there's some information I've missed, it's very important ..."

"Do you need my help to send it?" Without waiting for Alfredo to finish, Paulina interrupted him directly.

"Yes. I was just wondering if Paulina is available."

Paulina smiled slightly, "Of course I'm free, where's the information?".

After hanging up the phone, Paulina got up and went to Alfredo's office, found the important information he had mentioned and then took the elevator to the subway parking garage. Her car was parked here.

Once in the car, she focused on the road and pulled out of the parking lot.

She didn't notice that as she started her car, a black car also started up, following not far behind her.

Once out of the parking lot, Paulina saw the car in her rearview mirror, but thought nothing of it.

However, after traveling some distance, she realized that the car was following her closely.

She thought better of it and deliberately stopped in front of a coffee shop.

As she got out of the car, she saw out of the corner of her eye the approaching car.

For a moment, her expression sank: it really was following her.

She didn't bother to buy a coffee, quickly got into the car and drove on.

The car followed her again.

Paulina tried to shake it off, but, to her surprise, it came even closer, almost hitting the back of her car several times.

If she kept up this tangle, she would be in trouble if she ran out of steam.

Just then, he saw the city police station up ahead, to his left.

So he pulled up to the police station, got out and quickly went inside.

A policeman, who happened to be approaching her, asked her, "Can I help you?".

Paulina waved her hand and said, "Nothing, I'm just a little dizzy, come in and sit down for a while."

The policeman saw that she really didn't look well and hurried to help her onto a bench and sit down, then poured her another cup of hot water. "Thank you." Paulina smiled at him.

"Should I contact my family to come pick her up?" the policeman asked.

"I'll call my family."

Paulina waited for the policeman to walk away before calling Marcos.

Marcos was still in a meeting and had turned off the ringing on his phone, but not the vibration.

The "buzzing" of the vibration was still evident in the conference room.

Everyone looked over.

Mark was about to turn it off, but seeing that it was Paulina's number, he picked it up and apologized, "Excuse me, I have to take a call first."

With that, he walked over to the landing and picked it up, "Paulina."

"Marcos, I'm at the city police station."

Hearing that, Marcos' face suddenly changed, "What's going on?"

"I'm being followed."

There was a tinge of fear in her voice that Marcos picked up on, despite being on the other end of the phone.

"Wait for me, I'll be right there."

Marcos hung up the phone, turned around and said to everyone present: "I'm sorry, I have an urgent matter that needs to be dealt with, I'm leaving first, I'll see to it that my subordinates take care of other matters." After saying that, without waiting for the crowd to react, he hurriedly left.
