Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1417: Maybe We Can Use It

Late at night, as Paulina slept, Marcos gently got up and walked out of the room to the study to call.

"Why are you calling me so late?"

Manuel's inquisitive voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Sleeping?" asked Marcos.

"No. Can I help you?"

Marcos was silent for a few seconds before speaking slowly, telling him everything that had happened tonight.

"You mean Esteban got mad at Sweety?" Manuel thought he had misheard.

How could Esteban be mad when everyone knew how much he adored his sister?

"Hmm."

Getting the definitive answer, Manuel frowned, "That's not right, after my therapy and observation, Esteban is quite stable and mentally quite normal, there's no way he would get mad because he broke a box of stationery."

"But it's just that things really happen." Marcos turned his head to look out the window at the darkening sky and sighed, "Paulina is worried about Esteban, find a way to cure Esteban as soon as possible."

Manuel laughed helplessly, "Marcos, psychological problems are not so easy to cure, it takes time and it's done slowly."

"Esteban's condition is much worse than I thought and if he continues like this, I am very afraid that he will twist psychologically."

Manuel understood her feelings and, after a moment's thought, suggested, "Why don't we suspend Esteban from school for a while?"

Marcos frowned, only to hear Manuel on the other end of the phone continue, "Esteban will be out of control tonight, I suspect he may have seen something at school, the main reason for not letting him go to school for now is to keep him from being exposed to something bad."

"Okay, I'll arrange it." Marcos accepted her proposal without hesitation.

Anything that was good for Esteban, he would accept.

"If you can, tomorrow you ask Esteban if he saw anything at school, or what happened."

"Okay."

Marcos also wanted to know exactly what had happened to Esteban at school.

...

The next day, Esteban finished his breakfast and Paulina was ready to take him to school.

"Esteban doesn't have to go to school for now." Marcos spoke up.

"What?" Paulina turned her head and looked at him in disbelief, "Why don't you have to go to school?"

Esteban looked at him just as puzzled.

Marcos pondered for a moment, "What he knows in school is too easy for him."

"Just because of that?" Paulina frowned, "I thought you said Esteban, even if he was smart, was supposed to go to and from school like any other kid." "Esteban, do you want to go to school?" Marcos looked at Esteban.

Esteban clenched his palms, then released them and shook his head, "I don't want to go."

He was a smart kid and probably guessed the reason Dad had told him he didn't have to go to school.

"Are you sure you don't want to go?" asked Paulina uncertainly.

"Don't worry, Mom, even if I don't go to school, my grades won't be any worse than anyone else's."

Paulina smiled and patted his head, saying, "I'm not worried about your bad grades, if you don't want to go, you won't go."

A lot had happened to him in the last few days and, truth be told, it was better not to go to school, it was calmer for him to be at home.

So Esteban didn't have to go to school for a while, and Alvaro dropped him off at Manuel's studio every morning on time.

In the afternoons, father and son go together to the Leoz Group, where Marcos personally watches him.

...

"Gee, did Marcos sense something?"

It had been days since Esteban had been seen at school, making it difficult for Chris's plans to go forward.

Linda's brow furrowed, "Marcos is a cautious man, maybe he did sense something."

"If so, what do we do?" asked Chris.

"What do we do?" Linda snorted, a grimace between her brows. "I don't think Mark can watch his son twenty-four hours a day, there's always a chance he could get lost." "Then I'll send someone to keep an eye on The Leoz family," Chris narrowed his eyes, "I won't miss a chance to beat The Leoz family!"

Linda gently stroked the cat in her lap, looking thoughtful.

"Linda, don't worry, I'll help you get what you want." promised Chris.

"Chris," Linda looked up at him, the corner of her mouth curving up, "How's that little buddy Monte?".

The subject changed so fast that Chris froze, then replied, "Just a minor injury, nothing serious."

"How's his relationship with Esteban?"

"I hear it's a good relationship, I think he's kind of Esteban's friend." Chris had already researched everything about Esteban at school.

Linda raised an eyebrow, "Maybe we can use him."

Chris frowned slightly, "How do you plan to do that?"

Linda looked at him, the smile on her lips intensified, "Since we're friends, the right thing to do is visit our friends."

"I see." Chris smiled back, "You're still smart."

Linda looked down at the cat in her arms with a stern expression, "Whatever happens, I'm going to make Paulina live the rest of her life in regret and pain."

Perhaps sensing the hostile aura emanating from her, the cat purred, jumped off her lap and ran out into the room.

...

Esteban's frown narrowed as he received Monte's call, while Monte was unveiling himself on the phone.

"Esteban, if you don't come see me again, I'm going to be bored out of my mind!"

"You know what, my mom won't even let me out of my room now, she just keeps me in my room and I'm really going crazy!" "Esteban, come see me!"

...

"Are you done?" Esteban asked in a weak tone.

"Finished." Monte's voice sounded a little breathless.

Esteban was silent for a few seconds, "... Are you okay?"

The tone was still muffled, but the concern showed.

Monte's voice immediately jumped in, "Esteban, is that concern?"

"If you keep talking nonsense, I'm hanging up the phone." Esteban really didn't want to hear any more of his ghostly screams.

"Don't do it." yelled Monte, "I'm fine, I just had a nosebleed. But my mom thinks I need to get well, so she wouldn't let me go to school."

"I didn't go to school either." Esteban said.

"Huh? You didn't go to school either?" Monte was surprised.

He was a junior, so how could he possibly not have gone to school?

"Well, I didn't go."

Monte was glad to learn that he really hadn't gone. "Now I'm not afraid of getting a bad grade anymore."

As soon as he said that, he realized something was wrong and his face fell, "No, even if you didn't go to school, you'd still be at the top of the class. I'm different, I'm definitely at the bottom." He doesn't want to be at the bottom!

Monte's eyes rolled back in his head and he laughed twice, "Esteban, why don't you help me with my homework?"

"No!" Esteban refused without saying a word.
