Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1414: It's Not That Simple

Under Manuel's guidance, Esteban recounted all that he had suffered.

When he reached the point of anger, Esteban's young face took on a tinge of hostility.

Manuel was surprised, and was glad that Marcos had found out earlier, otherwise Esteban's mind would have been very twisted. After Marcos had contacted him the night before, he had worked through the night to devise a series of treatment plans.

Today it was just a matter of first learning Esteban's true condition, which now seemed much more serious than he had imagined.

However, with his experience, he was confident he could cure the man.

After an hour and a half, Manuel and Esteban left the room, one after the other.

"Esteban, today my uncle is only going to get a clear picture of your condition first, there will be other treatments later, so make sure you come in on time, okay?" "Okay." Esteban didn't seem to resist in any way.

This was a relief to Manuel.

"Sit down for a while, I'm going to call your uncle to come pick you up."

Esteban obediently went to sit on a couch off to the side and waited for Alvaro to come pick him up.

After about twenty minutes, Alvaro hurried over.

"Well?" he asked anxiously as soon as he saw Manuel.

Manuel looked at Esteban and smiled faintly, "It's not too serious, there's a treatment to follow, we'll see how it works then."

"Then please."

He was the only one who could cure Esteban's mental problems now.

"When you come back, try to keep him happy and don't let him see anything I'm afraid it will irritate him." admonished Manuel.

Alvaro nodded busily, "Don't worry, we'll all do as you say."

Manuel smiled and turned to Esteban, "Esteban, if you have something to say to your dad and mom, don't hold back or it won't be good for your health." "Mmm."

Esteban was nodding his head now, but whether or not he could actually do it was still an open question.

Leaving the studio, Alvaro dropped Esteban off at the school.

On the way, Alvaro would turn his head from time to time to look at Esteban.

In fact, he wouldn't have been able to tell if his brother hadn't said that Esteban had a psychological problem.

There was nothing wrong with Esteban, as usual.

Esteban noticed his gaze and turned his head, "Dude, do I have something on my face?".

Alvaro froze, then reacted and smiled back, "No".

Esteban bowed his head, "Tio, I'm sorry I worried you."

Alvaro heard the guilt in his voice at the sudden apology and reached up to rub his head. "Remember to tell your mom and dad if anything happens in the future so we don't worry." "Yes." "What a good boy." Alvaro smiled and rubbed his hair.

"Uncle!" Esteban shot him a disgruntled look and lifted a hand to smooth his hair.

Alvaro laughed pleasantly out loud.

...

Marcos returned to his office after the meeting and saw Paulina with her chin in her hand, looking astonished and wondering what she was thinking. Knock, knock!

He knocked on the desk.

Paulina immediately came to her senses and smiled helplessly when she saw that it was him, "What are you doing?"

"Thinking about what?" Mark rested his hands on the edge of the desk and leaned over slightly, looking into her clear eyes.

Paulina pursed her lips and answered truthfully, "Thinking about Esteban."

Marcos raised an eyebrow.

"You think we should be more concerned about Esteban, I'm afraid he might be traumatized by this." Speaking of which, Paulina had a worried expression on her face. Marcos straightened up and looked through the floor-to-ceiling window, the corners of his mouth curved slightly. "We have to trust him."

Paulina glared at him, "He's your son, it's not enough to trust."

"Then what do you think we should do?". Mark withdrew his gaze and rested on her small, clear face.

"Take better care of him." Paulina thought seriously, "Take him and Sweety for a walk this weekend." Mark readily agreed, "Sure."

"Then let's go to an amusement park this weekend." Paulina suggested.

"You decide."

Marcos went to sit behind his desk and continued, "Don't worry too much, Esteban is much stronger than we think." Paulina pursed her lips, "That's not good. How I wish he would be like Sweety and cry when he was hurt and tell us." Marcos was silent for a few seconds, "... Do you think our son would do that?".

Despite her concern, Paulina answered truthfully, "No way."

Esteban has the genes of The Leoz Family in his body and that defiant character is exactly the same as Marcos and Alvaro. "So let him be, he'll talk if he wants to, naturally."

Paulina took a deep breath and compromised, "Okay."

...

Linda's eyes sparkled as she heard about Esteban, a smirk curved the corners of her mouth.

The gods were helping her.

She had been wondering what to do with Paulina, and no, now she had the chance to give her to him on her own.

She hated Marcos for his cruelty, but she hated Paulina even more.

If Paulina had not shown up, she would have already married Marcos and had several children.

As soon as she remembered the past, that feeling of despair came over her and overwhelmed her in an instant.

Marcos!

Paulina!

Linda clenched her fists, a sadness hovered over her delicately made-up face, the hatred in her eyes poured out.

She was going to make them pay for what they had done!

Chris entered the room, acutely aware of the intense hatred emanating from her.

Eyes blazing, he walked up to her and hugged her from behind.

The familiar scent enveloped her and Linda's mood slowly calmed as she took Chris's hand between hers and asked softly, "How did it go?" "Everything is going well. But strangely, the Leoz Group is not making any moves at the moment." A glint of melancholy came into Chris's eyes.

The Bartram Group had already taken over some of the Leoz Group's business, but the Leoz Group remained indifferent.

This made one wonder if the Leoz Group was holding something big back.

"It's not lack of action, it's lack of desire." Linda pulled away from him, turned around, looked at him and said, word for word, "Marcos owes a debt to the Bartram family, so there will be no action for now." Chris frowned, "But I always thought it wasn't that simple."

Marcos was so deep in town that he had to be a little cautious, lest something go wrong and then everything he'd gone to so much trouble to prepare would go to waste.

"It's good to be cautious. But..."

"But what?" asked Chris.

Linda was silent for a moment before speaking slowly, "There's something I need your help with right now."

Chris wrapped his arms around her waist and moved closer to her, his eyes roaming her slightly parted red lips, "Do we need to talk about help with each other? Anything you need me to do, just ask."
