Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1387: Mr. Marcos, watch your step during working hours!

Paulina woke up, surrounded by darkness.

She propped up her sore and limp body and sat up, a sweet and happy smile spread across her lips as she recalled the moments she had lived.

A feeling of contentment filled her whole heart.

He looked down at the clothes he had put on and the smile on his lips slowly deepened.

He was still as good as ever washing her body afterwards and helping her put on her clothes.

She lifted the sheets and as soon as her feet touched the floor, her legs went limp and she almost didn't fall to the floor.

Perhaps she had been in withdrawal for too long, but he had taken her several times in a row, and if she hadn't fallen asleep from exhaustion, I'm afraid she wouldn't have finished so quickly.

At the thought of this, Paulina felt her cheeks burning and hurried to cover them, scolding herself in a whisper, "Paulina what are you thinking, are you ashamed of yourself?"

She put on her shoes and went to open the door.

The light from outside flooded in, illuminating the entire room.

Mark was sitting at his desk, his head bowed as he read his papers, the light falling on one side of his face, framing his deepening profile.

What a beautiful man he had.

Paulina tilted her head and fixed her gaze on the side of his handsome face, unable to look away.

Perhaps sensing her gaze, Marcos suddenly turned his head.

Their eyes unexpectedly met.

Paulina's heart skipped a beat and she hurriedly averted her eyes, raising her hand to fan herself, "I just woke up, it seems to be a little warm." She let out a giggle to hide the panic she felt inside.

Marcos' eyes lifted in a slight smile, he must have been very hot, his otherwise white face was flushed from the heat.

"Come here." said Marcos.

Paulina hesitated for a few seconds and slowly moved her feet closer to him.

As soon as she reached him, his long arms immediately encircled her waist.

With a little cry of surprise, he lifted her onto his lap and sat her down.

His clean, fresh scent instantly filled all her nostrils.

Paulina's heart pounded.

She cursed herself for being useless.

How could she still act like a young girl who had just fallen in love when she was already an old married woman? "Are you tired?"

The low, husky voice was unusually sexy and charming.

Paulina emitted a soft "mmm."

A small smile tugged at the corners of Mark's mouth at her coy look.

Paulina looked up to see the smile on his lips and was a little annoyed, "What are you smiling about?"

"Nothing, I just think you're cute."

Paulina's already red cheeks turned even redder as she jumped off his lap and grimaced sternly, "Mr. Marcos, be careful during working hours!".

Turning around, she returned to her seat and took it.

Marcos looked at her and couldn't help but lose his smile.

Call her cute, and she really was.

...

At the end of the night, Paulina and Marcos were ready to go home when suddenly there was a problem with a project that Marcos had to stay and work overtime to fix. "Paulina, you go home first." said Marcos.

Paulina shook her head, "I don't want to, I want to wait for you".

They had been together almost 24 hours a day for the last few days and it was really awkward for her to suddenly go home alone first.

She resisted from the bottom of her heart.

"Paulina, be good, behave yourself." Marcos told her in a low voice.

He didn't know how late the overtime would be, she was already tired today, and if she had to work late with him, she really feared her body couldn't take it. "No, I'm just going to wait for you." Once Paulina gets stubborn, no one can change her mind.

"Paulina..." Marcos had nothing but helplessness.

At that moment, Alvaro pushed open the door and, well aware that something wasn't right, cautiously asked, "Are you arguing?"

A stern look pierced him and he rubbed his nose, closing his mouth slyly.

"Are you going home?" asked Marcos.

Alvaro nodded, "Back, why?"

Marcos didn't answer him, but lowered his head and said in a soft voice to Paulina, "You and Alvaro go back first, I'll be back as soon as I finish my overtime." "But..." Paulina still wanted to wait for him.

But before she could finish the sentence, he interrupted her in a soft voice, "Paulina, do as you've been told and come back soon to rest or I'll worry." Paulina knew he feared she was too tired to continue.

She took a deep breath and compromised, "Okay. Don't work too late then, take care of your health."

Marcos nodded, "Mmm."

Next, he looked at Alvaro again, "Make sure you get your sister-in-law home safe and sound."

Alvaro found his concern redundant, "Brother, are you still not sure about me?"

"I'm not reassured." replied Marcos truthfully.

Alvaro almost spat out a mouthful of blood as he held his forehead and sighed softly. "After twenty years of brotherhood, you still don't trust me." Paulina laughed as she watched him shake his head and sighed, "Come on, don't act. You still don't know if your brother trusts you or not." Marcos couldn't help but laugh too, "Of course he does."

"That's it then." Paulina gave him a sour look and said to Marcos, "I'm going back to Alvaro, you go back first."

"Mmm." Marcos gave her a hug and watched her leave with Alvaro until their figures disappeared around the corner.

...

Once in the car, Alvaro couldn't help himself, "Sister-in-law, you and my brother have been together for years, why are you still so envious?" "Envious?" Paulina asked as she buckled her seat belt.

"What envy, I just think he's too fleshy." Alvaro grimaced at the thought of all her antics.

Paulina curved her mouth, "I know you're envious, don't hide it."

Alvaro gave a dismissive "cut", "As if anyone doesn't have a partner."

"Don't you and Bonita ever get bored?". Paulina teased him with a smile.

"I'm... not as happy as we are hiding in our room."

Paulina laughed, "Come on, don't be silly, drive."

At that, Alvaro immediately started the car and drove out of the subway parking lot.

On the way, Alvaro was going all poor, Paulina looked helpless, "I really don't know how Bonita puts up with you."

"For love." At the mention of Bonita, Alvaro's expression softened.

"Is this what you're showing me?" Paulina turned her head to look at him.

Alvaro immediately denied, "I wouldn't dare brag to you sister-in-law, you and my brother are very close."

Paulina laughed and shook her head.

Alvaro opened his mouth to say something when out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of a car following him in the rearview mirror. Was someone following them?

As soon as the thought occurred to him, Marcos made a subconscious left turn in front of him.

He looked again in the rearview mirror.

The car had also turned left.

Paulina sees nothing wrong, looks out the window and frowns, "Alvaro, are you going somewhere or are you going the wrong way?".

She turns her head to look at Alvaro, but finds him unusually serious.

Before she could ask "what's wrong," she heard him say, "Sister-in-law, don't move, I'm going to speed up."
